Our passion is Sailing and the Sea, we bought Royal Atenea with the intention to start cruising around the world after spending all our lives working hard at sea. After we bought this beauty we found that it needed some love and care as it was abandoned by the previous owners so we are taking our time to bring her back to life. Eventually around the world trip will commence when the boat is fully upgraded for crossing the oceans and other continents. We are also working on the Electric Conversion of the first Jongert. About the Boat ''SY ROYAL ATENEA'' was built in Holland in 1973. Her original name was ''Antares''.She is a Jongert Trewes Design with 5mm Steel Hull and rigged as a Ketch with Aluminium Masts. Her LOA is 19.3m and she has a beam of 4.6m with a draft of 2.98m She weighs 33t and she can cruise at 7 kts with the engine and 8-10 kts on sail depending on the wind. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. About the Boat ''SY Red Current'' is a Southerly 31 with the construction of GRP and rigged as a sloop with Aluminium Mast. Her LOA is 31 feet and she has a beam of 10 feet with a draft of 7 feet. She also has an electric swing keel which makes her draft very shallow and easy to enter in shallow water. At least in miles it was … 3028 miles or over 5600 kilometers of nothing but ocean. That's the amount of water you have to cross to get to the Marquesas, our next stop after the Galapagos. Thomas is still borrowed from Surya and we're so extremely happy that he came along. Enough sleep is the keyword on a trip like this, especially for the captain. Happy with the extra speed the Outremer offers us in comparison to our previous boats, even if we miss out on the wind during the last couple of days we still manage to get there in quite a decent time. Around 3100 miles sailed (Greatcircle-ish) in 13 days and a bit.

Last week we moved hull 1 of the Hood 35 LM out of the construction bay for her float test. It is magical to see her out of the building and close to completion. The project has been a marquee build for us - working with the owner has been exciting, inspiring and has propelled us forward with groundbreaking innovations inside this vessel. We look forward to showing off the finished project in the coming month and telling you more about this special boat. The Hood 35 LM is a cold-molded series that has been a cooperative effort with CW Hood Yachts. Hull 1 is a hardtop sedan and carbon deck with Hamilton Jet propulsion.

Un grain arrive alors qu'on est sous SPI : départ au LOF assuré ! Le bateau a pris de la vitesse, jusqu'à 12 noeuds, puis a gité jusqu'à mettre le liston dans l'eau. Le grain est arrivé par l'arrière, on ne l'avait pas vu venir . Plus de vent en début de cette 2ème semaine de traversée, avec beaucoup de grains tropicaux (fortes averses locales alternant vent fort et pas de vent), nous obligeant à des manœuvres pour changer de voile très souvent. Vent changeant, beaucoup de manoeuvres de voiles, le moral de l'équipage est en baisse vers cette fin de traversée. On arrive enfin aux Antilles, en Martinique, de nuit, après 15 jours de mer. Cette traversée ATLANTIQUE n'aura pas été de tout repos mais la technique de pêche est maintenant bien maîtrisée. With only 13 weeks left until we've planned to go back in the water, we made a quick dash to Australia to bring our rudder bearing back to the company that made it. As seems to be a theme with our lives at the moment, we had lots to do on this trip and not much time to do it in. We wanted to visit the builder of our mast to discuss our modifications to add an additional forestay. Finally we made the most of this trip to do any shopping we needed since there's a lot more selection of tools and equipment in Australia than Fiji. After 2 years of closed borders it was exciting to be traveling again and visiting a different country. It felt very different to wake up in a big city again after 2 years living in Fiji! Palamidi is a fortress to the east of the Acronauplia in the town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece. Nestled on the crest of a 216-metre high hill, the fortress was built by the Venetians during their second occupation of the area. The water castle Bourtzi is a 15th century, castle located in the middle of the harbour of Nafplio. Un choix loin d’être évident : sur le plan des performances, dans l’absolu, « l’ancienne » configuration est meilleure. Mais quand il s’agit de propulser des catamarans relativement lourds en mode croisière, cela se traduit par des mâts très hauts, un renfort du rouf XXL et un foc exigeant à régler… Le Lagoon 51 #lagooncatamarans malgré un mât plus court de 1,30 m, présente une surface de voile à peine réduite comparée à celle du 50 – dont il reprend les coques et une partie du plan de pont. Le nouveau modèle affiche également un déplacement inférieur de près d’une tonne. Le flybridge du 51 se mue en vraie zone de vie avec dossiers de sièges de barre réversible. On remarque les nombreux panneaux solaires dont la découpe sur mesure permet de concilier esthétique et efficacité (3 400 Wc). Les coques ont été rallongées afin d’offrir de larges plages arrière, lesquelles peuvent être agrandies par la plate-forme hydraulique. L’accès depuis le quai est grandement facilité. A l’intérieur, la disparition de l’imposante épontille du Lagoon 50 profite à l’agrément de la nouvelle nacelle, qui adopte un Alpi chêne sable. Les retours d’expérience du 50 – 300 exemplaires vendus ! – ont permis de reprendre 70 points, comme les holding tanks de nouveau gravitaires (et non sous les planchers). L’aménagement standard retient une cabine Propriétaire à tribord et trois cabines à bâbord – d’autres plans sont proposés. On remarque également une offre tarifaire plus simple et plus lisible, avec les 80 CV proposés en standard.
