Even more options!, everything on a Seawind Catamaran is an option. In Part I we discussed Anchor and Comfort options, in Part II we discussed the Electrical, Engine, LPG, and Extras options. In this episode, we close the series out and discuss the Navigational, Plumbing, Entertainment, Safety, Sail Hardware, and Sails options and continue to share our ideas and the reasoning behind our decisions. We received some great comments and welcome others to chime in with their picks, their views, and their logic behind their choices. Everything becomes a compromise in the end. Share your experiences and help us along this journey. Options are always a topic of conversation wherever prospective Seawind owners meet. This is the third and final in a multi-part series. The previous two episodes can be found below: Episode 9 - What Seawind 1260 Options we are getting - Part I https://youtu.be/oT6WpdiRIO0 Episode 10 - More Seawind 1260 Options - Part II https://youtu.be/G3_SkwJ-7J0 Please join us and follow along as we go through the 1260 options at Seawind 1260 Options https://seawindcats.com/options/seawind-1260/

This week on The Ocean Cruisers podcast we are speaking with Matt Steverson from the YouTube Boat Building Channel, @TheDuracellProject Matt with his partner Janneke have been sailing for years and after cruising on their previous 40ft cruiser decided to take on a mega project on their forest property in Washington State. They were given a 60ft Open Ocean Racing Sailboat named Duracell, once owned by the legendary sailor Mike Plant, who sailed the boat in the first Vendee Globe. Matt with his shipwright skills and Janneke are now completely refitting this boats interior and exterior to turn it into a fast comfortable cruiser to sail the high seas. If you want to follow Matt’s build, check out his YouTube channel, The Duracell Project. https://www.youtube.com/c/TheDuracellProject Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, watch the interviews on Youtube and download the audio on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. It is our first weekend since we got back to the UK. As some of you may already know, we bought Squalo in December 2021 in Gibraltar where we initially planned to do the full refit but eventually we brought her back to the UK, simply because our day job is here. Instead of shooting straight through the Biscay Bay We took our time sailing and we decided to visit few places along the way since from now on we will be spending a lot of time in a boatyard. Squalo was lifted just a few days ago and now it’s the time to get down to work. And there is a lot to be done! We will be working full time in our day job while also doing this project so we plan to come here at every opportunity and spare time we have. Because we live over an hour away from the boatyard, it’s most likely we will be visiting here only at the weekends. Please be patient if we miss one or two weekends, we have a lot going on outside of boatyard as well ;) But before we get down to all the projects, we need to get her ready. And it all begins here! Special THANK YOU to Patryk who is always there for us, offering a helping hand! Love, Ziggy & Nat #oyster39 #boatrefit #sanding

The kids and Shelley take a time-out at Isleta Marina Condos while James installs the new inverter/charger on the boat. ___________________________________________________________________ We're the Stevens family. We quit our jobs, sold everything we own, and bought a sailboat in a foreign country with very little sailing experience. Our focus is to experience challenges together as a family, live a sustainable, off-grid existence on our boat, and enjoy adventures in new places. We aren't rich, and won't be able to do this forever. So our time out here is limited, and we want our children to have an account of their adventures when they are older. Our sailing vlog serves as a record of this special time in our lives. Join us as we navigate new waters in our Knysna 440 catamaran, and experience with us the ups and downs of learning to live on the hook. #BoatLife #Catamaran #TravelVlog #LifeStyle #Sailboats #OffGrid #FamilyTravel

We treated ourselves to another dinghy. This time its a 59er, but it needs new sails which we cant buy that easily so we try something different Whats a 59er I hear you ask, why cant you just buy new sails and what did we get instead. All questions that will be answered in this film, but in short, have you heard of a 29erXX! We make these films just for fun, and we hope that you have enjoyed watching them however we have been asked on a couple of occasions now if we have a Patreon account. We don’t want to do that at this stage as we feel it would turn the channel into a business, and as we said at the beginning, this is all just for fun. However if you would like to support us and feel you could help contribute to the cost of making these films then you can do that via our PayPal account here. A big thank you to everyone that has already done this, its a great help. https://www.paypal.me/TheFoxwellFamily And a big thank you to everyone that has supported us so far, its very much appreciated. TORMENTA PERFECTA A BORDO!!! Joshua Slocum wrote this sailing classic in 1899. It's an adventure for the ages and an inspiration for many sailors. In this episode, a testimonial from a lady, cruising around Tasmania, the skipper delivers his first lecture on the voyage, abundant provisions, an inspection of the Spray for safety, an amatuer shipwreck, friends on the Austrailian coast, and perils of a coral sea. I’ve been back in the UK for a month and no physical work has been done on Tally Ho during that time, so this video is entirely dialogue and diagrams! Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 81 In this episode, we show how much our caulking has progressed. We build a storage step to access the salon from the swimming platform. A storm hits the shipyard. And we build a purple-heart wooden handrail for the roof of our superstructure. We hope you enjoy watching this one! We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the works needed were a lot more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. We cross a major line, making a sacrifice to Poseidon while battling squally seas in uncharted waters, sailing in the middle of nowhere! We find something we did not expect to see here... When you have a dream that requires many stages you sometimes forget about certain milestones along the way! We look past our collision and try to enjoy this huge milestone of crossing the equator as we look back at our past and think forward to the future of sailing around the world. Kate shows us her offshore galley skills as she cooks her extra special sailing potato salad recipe. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It's all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. We've lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste. We sail from Shelter Bay Marina in Panama on our hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, and our buddy boat David Shih Sails also comes with us after repairing his broken bulkheads in Linton bay. But one thing leads to another for them, including them getting a fouled propeller, then losing both engines altogether. Definitely not an ideal situation... SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are almost ready to cross the Pacific Ocean!! During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. Sorry we left you Coco!!!!! England calls us back for a quick trip to attend a wedding, stag do and catch up with our ‘Sutton Mariner’s’ sailing club as well as friends and family. It was all going swimmingly until …Covid catches us again!! This time it’s Alf in for the ride and a quick trip turns into an extended one causing us to fall behind on our sailing deadlines and the boat getting a tad damaged. We left Coco in a marina on the East side of Puerto Rico, unfortunately during the time we had to stay in the UK a little longer, some bad wind and swell came causing our doubled up lines to snap which lead to a little damage to our boat. Luckily... we get off lightly!! We also add some new additions to our Catamaran before swiftly sailing our way to the West side to get ready for a few crossings! Next stop.... THE BAHAMAS!! Stay Tuned 😘 ♡ Welcome to our Sailing Vlog - Sailing Coco! After 7 years of renovating boats, we restored our Snapdraggon 27, sailed our 33ft Colvic Countess Monohull around the Med and then left London for good once we bought a Lucia 40 Fountaine Pajot Catamaran! We're excited to share our adventures with you and please click the Subscribe Button and Bell if you would like to be notified when we post our latest video! Or comment underneath! After two days of sun, Atlantic swell and prevailing northwesterlies, conditions turned around for day three of the 44Cup Cascais. Overnight the wind veered into the south and in the morning the eight RC44 teams waited ashore for an extra hour and half as the wind filled in. Out on the race track the tacticians faced the perplexing scenario of the breeze from the new southerly direction, combined with, on the upwinds, more than a knot of current against them, but still with the residual Atlantic swell from the northwest with them.
