This is Episode 32 of our adventure. This is only our second week as full-time live-a-boards and we are settling in to a new routine. Hugh gets time to tackle one of the many jobs we have left and gets carried away with the Jabsco toilet. He discovers the source of the water tank leak and moves a few things around to help better trim the boat. The kids are happy and helpful but we are still tied to our jobs in the Midland. We need to work out a way to cut our ties and work remotely so that we can truly get on with this adventure. We are a family of five with plans for an epic adventure, sailing around the world. We have bought a boat we have to gut it, rebuild it, sell all of our possessions and have the guts to cast off. Follow our adventures. Die vergangenen Wochen waren turbulent. Zum einen war da mein 50. Geburtstag, zum anderen hatten wir Fotografen und Freunde an Bord. Eigentlich war mein Plan, keinen zu haben. Doch dieses Jahr gibt es einen kleinen Paradigmenwechsel. Wir wollen die Türkei verlassen und gen Westen segeln. Im Idealfall sehr weit in der Westen. Über den Atlantik. Eigentlich ist die Dilly-Dally gut vorbereitet. Eigentlich. Für die letzten Vorbereitungen wollten wir nach Bozburun und Marmaris segeln. Doch irgendwie hatte es Murphy an Bord geschafft. Statt unsere Liste abzuarbeiten, wurde sie länger und länger. Eine verstopfte WC-Leitung ergoss sich in der Bilge, der Kabelzug vom Motor verabschiedete sich, wir hatten Salzwasser im Frischwassertank, der Watermaker muckte, die Fußpumpe leckte, das AIS sendete nicht und ein rostiger Kielbolzen sorgt für Sorge. Aber es gab auch viele schöne Momente.

In light winds I rig my code0 sheets inside the shrouds to get more upwind. Too bad my code0 was made before I found this trick and it is a bit too big so it lands on the shroud. Anyway it works well and I can sail at around 70% SOG/TWS.

We are Sailing in the north and drop by on islands on our way south to activate some SoTa spots. Though We are not in a hurry the weather is unstabil and give us an extra challenge. The final day of the BORA Sailing Championship'2022 in Sofia delivered fresh breeze on Iskar Lake and tight races - 3 more to wrap the Qualifying Series and 3 races for the top 5 in the Finals. The crew from Ultramarine Sailing Club, with skipper Yavor Kolev, managed to score two wins in the Final Series and stole the crown from the Qualifying Series leader - the crew from CSYC with skipper Stefan Raev, who finished in the 4th place overall.
