È partita la 67esima edizione della Regata dei Tre Golfi, organizzata dal Circolo Remo e Vela Italia con il patrocinio della FIV e in collaborazione con Yacht Club Italiano, Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, IMA, ORC, UVAI, AIVE. Giovanni Soldini e l’equipaggio di Maserati Multi70, affrontano il rivale Mana di Riccardo Pavoncelli con skipper Paul Larsen, in assetto MOD 70 attraversando i golfi di Napoli, Gaeta e Sorrento e navigando tra le isole di Procida, Ischia, Ventotene, Ponza con linea di arrivo a Capri. Da regolamento, i due multiscafi in gara hanno tagliato la linea di partenza con un’ora di anticipo sul resto della flotta in una brezza termica di 8-10 nodi, che è poi rapidamente calata a 6-8 nodi, e dopo una partenza pulita ma un po' faticosa, la flotta di 130 barche si è avviata verso l'isola di Ponza, prima boa della regata. Il grande sistema di alta pressione che interessa la zona in queste ore ha costretto fin da subito a fare i conti con l’azzardo lungo un percorso disseminato di episodi di calma piatta. Protagoniste le brezze, e anche i venti del mattino e della sera. “Le condizioni non sono delle migliori” ha dichiarato Giovanni Soldini “Con poco vento ogni metro diventa prezioso e la regata molto tattica, lunga e combattuta”. Proprio a causa della prevalenza di venti leggeri che accompagnerà tutta la regata, il percorso dei multiscafi che inizialmente avrebbe dovuto estendersi fino a Santa Maria di Castellabate, è stato riadeguato dal Comitato di regata e allineato alla rotta tradizionale, con ultima boa a Li Galli. Maserati Multi70 partecipa alla Tre Golfi per la prima volta. On prend une petite pause des travaux l’instant d’un après-midi et on n’a pas le choix de prendre conscience qu’on est dans la jungle lorsqu’un paresseux grimpe sur un bateau tout prêt de nous, qu’on se baigne dans la mangrove et qu’on visite les singes araignées en liberté sur l’île voisine. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Wir lassen das schöne Ithaka hinter uns und steuern Kafalonia an, genau gesagt die Hauptstadt Argostoli. Der Wind spielt uns allerdings einen Streich und so müssen wir einen ungeplanten Zwischenstopp einlegen bevor es nach Argostoli geht. Nach ein paar Tagen vor Anker im großen Hafenbecken bei Argostoli segeln wir nach Zakynthos in die Bucht Agios Nicolaos an der Nordostseite der Insel. Dann geht es zur Hauptstadt der Insel, die auch Zakynthos heißt, in den Stadthafen. Dort wird gebunkert, getankt und das Wasser wieder aufgefüllt. Nun noch ein schöner Ankerstop im Kolpos Lagana im Süden der Insel und schon ist der Peloponnes nicht mehr weit... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ We leave beautiful Ithaca behind and head for Kafalonia, specifically the capital Argostoli. However, the wind plays a trick on us and so we have to make an unplanned stop before we go to Argostoli. Then it goes to the capital of the island, which is also called Zakynthos, in the city port. There is bunkered, refueled and the water refilled. Now a nice anchor stop in Kolpos Lagana in the south of the island and the Peloponnese is not far away... The Willem Johannes The Willem Johannes, affectionately known as WJ, is more than just a sailboat - it's a dream come true for its owners, Robin Middel and Patty-lou Middel-Leenheer. This magnificent vessel represents the culmination of their lifelong passion for sailing and their desire for greater freedom on the water. The Crew Robin (born 1968) and Patty-lou (born 1969) are the proud captains of the Willem Johannes. Their love for the water runs deep, shaping both their personal and professional lives. The couple's sailing journey began in 2005 with a modest 28-foot Fellowship, which they sailed for over a decade. I don't claim to be an expert (not even close) but this method seemed to yield a good result. I also give a brief tour of my New Home heavy duty sewing machine, which I will use to sew a new bimini and sailpack for Ladybug.
