This week marks the beginning of a whole new chapter in our sailing adventure. We finally transferred everything we own from GOAT 1.0, our beloved Bavaria 44, into GOAT 2.0, our newly purchased Lagoon 400 catamaran. It’s amazing how much stuff a sailboat accumulates over time—and moving it all was no small task. Finding a place for everything on a catamaran is both an art and a challenge. But little by little, GOAT 2.0 began to feel like home. Once we had all our belongings aboard, we dove into the biggest job of all: the complete electronics installation and migration. ⚓ NEW ELECTRONICS INSTALLED ON GOAT 2.0 Icom MA-510TR Class B AIS Transponder The Icom MA-510TR is a full-featured Class B AIS transceiver with a built-in GPS receiver, target list display, collision alarm, and integrated DSC functionality. After visiting 14 prefectures, spending time in Japan’s longevity hotspots, and interviewing some remarkable people, I’m finally back in Amami — and heading back to my boat tomorrow. I’ve just completed the fourth draft of my new book on longevity and it’s now with a small group of beta readers. Soon I’ll begin writing the fifth draft. This morning I’m in Naze, taking my usual Japanese-style walk, and like so many parks across the country, people are already out playing gateball. It happens every morning. I’ve chatted with them — they’re genki, energetic, and committed to gathering with friends for movement and fun. Radio Taiso is part of that rhythm too. Pickleball is growing in Japan, and I feature it in my book’s “future trends” chapter, but for now gateball remains the number one morning activity for community, connection, and gentle exercise. It’s good to be back — both in Amami and soon on my boat. Thanks for following along, even during the months with less sailing content. In this week's sailing video Rob FINALLY repairs the Water Maker on Jaygo. He speaks about his experience with FilmTec RO membranes and shows the problems that we have had. We also visit the Bali Sailing Centre which is run by the AMAZING Pak Kiki. Kiki works tirelessly to teach sailing to people who in many cases would not get the opportunity. His Sailing Centre caters for all ages from 7 to 80 and all levels of experience, but his real passion is for teaching the local Indonesian kids. Dee also gets fed up with her long hair in the Indonesian summer and visits the hairdresser to take drastic action.

We continue on our road trip south down the east coast of Australia and stop at Eden, New South Wales. There is a gorgeous lookout called Eagles Claw Nature Reserve where one can look for whales.
