C'était une expérience incroyable de voir les coups fabuleux de Flo et d'essayer de jouer notre meilleur golf malgré les conditions (ce jour là, il pleuvait et le vent n'était pas simple). Clara était dans la zone, Fabienne faisait de la magie, Candice jouait efficace. Ce qui est chouette avec Flo, c'est sa manière de motiver une équipe, sa capacité à obtenir le meilleur de chaque joueur sans jamais se sentir sous pression.

Matt and Lisa make the tough decision to Sail away from KeyWest, in the aftermath of hurricane Ian. Key West experienced it’s fair share of death and destruction during the storm, and with another storm possibly following the same path in nine days, the crew decided to start their adventure two months earlier than planned. The 5 day sail up to mainland was filled with opoor weather, big waves, and little sleep. Once they arrive in Fort Lauderdale, they quickly work to get the sailboat stocked with food, fuel, and anything else they will need for their international travels. The last day Matt goes up the mast, to work on navigation lights and get the boat ready for its voyage. We spent a lot of our time anchored in the pretty town of Piran before exploring the inland caves and castles in our next video. We didn't know what to expect when we arrived in Slovenia but it did not disappoint! Slovenia is a country in Central Europe, is known for its mountains, ski resorts and lakes. On Lake Bled, a glacial lake fed by hot springs, the town of Bled contains a church-topped islet and a cliffside medieval castle. In Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital, baroque facades mix with the 20th-century architecture of native Jože Plečnik, whose iconic Tromostovje spans the tightly curving Ljubljanica River.

After being tied to the dock overcoming health challenges for the last 20 months, we make final preparations to cast off the lines and sail north to the Great Barrier Reef. There’s a Costco trip to load our ketch with bulk provisions. We fill our fuel tanks with horrendously expensive diesel. A suitable weather window is found and we celebrate SV Our Dreamtime’s 40th birthday. Then just as we’re ready to go we face yet another costly hurdle that has us near breaking point and wondering whether we’ll ever be cruisers again.
