Vi ricordiamo che alla partenza del 6 novembre, saranno tre gli italiani in gara sui Class 40 (la classe open oceanica di 12,19 x 4,49 m): c’è Bona con il nuovissimo scafo marcato IBSA (della sua prua tonda ve ne abbiamo parlato qui, invece qui la sua ultima intervista con noi), Ambrogio Beccaria su AllaGrande Pirelli (qui le info) e Andrea Fornaro su 171 Influence. Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt.Bereits 2018 starteten wir Richtung Wien, doch ein Motorschaden in der Straße von Messina zwang uns, den Überstellungstörn abzubrechen. This is the continuation of the Bowsprit rebuild. I finish laminating the sides for the pulpit and drill the mounting holes without using a drill press.

Unsere erste Etappe führt uns mal wieder bei Gewitter und Starkregen nach Fehmarn, wo wir vor in der Bucht vor Orth ankern. Weiter geht es nach Rudkøbing. Und auch auf diesem Weg kämpfen wir in der Marstal Bucht mit starken Gewitterböen. Viel Spaß beim Schauen! After splashing various paints around, Including finding the correct colour match for the Volvo Penta sail drive transmission, I make a start on fabricating the rudder fittings from 316 stainless with POM bushes. This is the story of the building of a Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk schooner-rigged cruising sailboat. Sailing from Lakes Entrance along the full length of the Gippsland Lakes to Marlay Point on the west side of Lake Wellington. Intended as an overview of the lakes system we show some of the main public jetties, berths and anchorages along the way. Overnighting in Duck Arm we wake to a scene of serenity and a gorgeous sunrise. We reach Marlay point that afternoon and without any good anchorage nearby decide to head back to Plover Point at the entrance of McLennans Strait and a beautiful little beach landing. The area abounds with wetlands and the birdlife is wonderful. Highly recommend plover point for overnighting, just remember the insect repellant. After glorious sunset and sunrise we head back to Metung via Loch Sport and Paynesville.

To summarize, anything one can find in Cancun - be it gorgeous beaches, great nightlife, or delicious cuisine - one can also find in Playa del Carmen, but in a much more authentic and relaxed environment. White sand beaches in Playa del Carmen Quinta Avenida, also referred to in English as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist thoroughfare in Playa. It is a pedestrian only, cobblestone lined street which spans approximately 20 blocks. Along 5th Ave. you will find a variety of restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping opportunities and various overpriced services. In Playa, nearly everything starts from this street. If you have more local fare in mind, head a few avenues (they are counted in jumps of five, the next one besides fifth avenue is tenth avenue) inland and prices as well as the number of gringos tend to fall. Towards the south there is a gated community full of air bnb rentals and hotels called "playacar".
