During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. Hopefully some inspiration to "Quit Job and Go Sailing". #sponsorshipopportunity #windgeneration #coppercoat This week we bring you a very controversial topic, antifouling! The experts explain to us all you need to know about copper coat, from how to apply to the final cost. They also demystify on how difficult it is to apply. As they say it's not more difficult than any other antifouling apart from the physical work of applying four or five layers one after the other. We are pretty much convinced on using it on our new boat! How about yourself? Any experiences about copper coat? Let us know in the comments. We also bring to you all you need to know about wind generators. We speak with Stuart at the boat show and he explains the advantages of having one. As you must know we had on our last boat and absolutely loved.Very little noise and so much more power 24/7. I hope you enjoy this video fully packed of information! Consider to subscribe to our channel to help us to keep producing these free videos for you! Follow our blog with our daily adventures on Facebook . Loads of fresh fish as we catch so much. https://www.facebook.com/healthyonboard/ Please like and share all of that to help us going on this adventure. We are really enjoying this life and sharing everything with you it's been wonderful . Thank you very much, you guys are amazing supporting us with your likes and comments, we really feel that we have a new family out there. Much love Carla & Simon A little bit about us... We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

We are SO thankful to have Paul onboard as we take the boat South and prepare for the big crossing to Guatemala! #sailing #GUATEMALA #RIODULCE #drytortugas #marathon #keywest NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY? In this episode we arrive near Porto in a harbour area called Leixoes. Kevin buys his very own Kevin Oake hat! And we continue to try to fix the fridge. In the end Kevin brings in an electrician to help make some special connections behind the panel while running a new electrical supply wire. Moving on down the coast, we make a stop at the town of Nazare, infamous for it's world-record breaking surfing wave. We explain a little bit about how the phenomenon occurs. Then we carry on to Peniche, where a random stop at the public wharf results in an unexpected spontaneous gathering of Canadian sailors, along with an impromptu musical show from fellow sailors! Thanks for following! Video captured on Samsung Galaxy S10 and A12 phones, by a GoPro 8 (any underwater shots), and a Mavic Mini 2 drone (air shots). Please Subscribe for video upload alerts, Like etc. Damage in three classes. ULTIM's, Ocean 50's and IMOCA 60's. One casuality Sam who has domage to hands and face when a winch back pedaled and the handles, spinning at high speed, hit him in the face and hands. This is a huge accident as I have seen such a incident and it was not good, two broken arms! Armel had a daggerboard explode and is returning to his home base in Lorient and finally Damien hit a ship and his rig fell down. He's cutting the mast and rigging away and dropping the rig into the ocean. We hope Sam will get well soon and we send him our best wishes. Keep watching our channel for more reports.

December 1992: Three adventurous young guys and a 35 foot yacht with no GPS. Even with a lot of wind, reefing is not an issue, so that etmale can jump out to 180 nautical miles... A somewhat nostalgic look back to a time when astro navigation was still in demand.. http://annamera.de Diese Video ist ein etwas nostalgischer Rückblick auf eine Atlantik-Überquerung im „Kolumbus-Jahr", genau 500 Jahre nach seiner ersten Überfahrt nach Westindien. [ SUPPORT US ON PATREON ] https://www.patreon.com/sailingseawind [ ONE TIME CONTRIBUTIONS ] https://bit.ly/3e5YE78 Leo’s Channel: https://youtube.com/c/SampsonBoatCo Our journey has brought us to Port Townsend, Washington. Our first destination aboard Southern Cross, the boat Katy, Andrew and I are living and traveling on. The ultimate destination is San Francisco, and the excitement is real. Andrew purchased the boat about 8 months ago and asked us to help him deliver it from Seattle. Our trip began last week with a beautiful sail up the Puget Sound and now that we are in Port Townsend we might never want to leave... Port Townsend is a magical place. I (Parker) feel a deep connection to this place and am realizing that I have made connections here many times over the past 7 years of restoring our Seawind. The people here are super nice, the historical victorian buildings and the history in general of this place is truly remarkable. Join the three of us on a journey through the history of Port Townsend, and after we fight off the urge to dig our heels into this magical place, we turn back to the task at hand. The next leg of our journey will take us to Port Angeles, home of "Bella Italia" the iconic restaurant from the Twilight book/movie series. Our journey there instills within us a sense of true awe and wonder for this world and we reflect on some of the ways experiencing awe helps our mental health stay in check. We experience Bella's mushroom ravioli and hike the "Peabody Trail" in the Olympic Mountain Range just outside of Port Angeles. In this vlog we sail past the Athos Peninsula, home to the monastic community of Mount Athos. The community of monks is enjoying the status of an autonomous region holding the combined rights of a decentralized administration, a region and a municipality, sort of a state within a state with around 2000 monks. Although part of Greece, the European Union and the Schengen Zone, Athos has its own 'laws', making it impossible and strictly illegal for any woman to visit the Peninsula. Weird right? Apart from not allowing women, men also need a special permission to enter, sailing past is only allowed to around 500m from shore. Due to this special status and extreme secrecy, not too much information makes it out of this highly controlled state, which makes it even more interesting right? There are some 'documentaries' but having seen the Netflix one, trust us, they only show what they want the outside to see, which surely is also part of the reality of the Athos community, i.e. being, dedicated monks, living in harmony with God and nature, praying, maintaining, restoring the buildings, libraries and riches of the Orthodox church, but also keeping newer development away from this pristine piece of nature. What is not shown, are the luxury mansion like new build houses, the large solar panel arrays around them etc. This makes one wonder, if the monks really aim to stay cut from the outer world distractions and concentrate on and simple life. Why do they need, in addition to the monasteries, large mansions with oversized solar panels, tv's etc.? Where does the money come from? Is their holy community also highly unequal? Is outsider money flowing in there? Is it for special visitors ? Lets us know what you think of the state of Athos, should women be allowed? Thanks for Watching! We were so close to losing everything...we will be stuck here until we repair the damage with whatever items we have on board. Enjoying the episodes? Becoming a Patron enables us to ensure the continuity of Slim & Soph - Sailing Nakama. A little goes a long way to keep this production alive. With very little free time between uni and the boat, Patreon enables us to focus on creating and posting videos rather than pouring beers at our local. Thank you for your generosity https://www.patreon.com/sailingnakama Or make a one-off donation as you please if subscriptions aren't your thing. Let's keep ticking nautical miles and boat jobs off! https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=C6M8FAYZ5K2ZS WE ARE BACK FOLKS, and we are very apologetic that we have left you all hanging for the last five weeks...but if you're reading this, we made it out alive. Finally, we can continue to showcase our trip over the top of Australia. Five weeks ago, we pulled into Lizard Island with our tiller held together with a fishing gaff and spare line. Upon adequately assessing the damage while safely anchored in beautiful Watsons Bay, we realised our tiller had rotted to the core and was holding on by its last thread. We got away pretty lucky to have made it here without further drama. We start throwing around ideas on how to repair the damage while offshore and miles away from a hardware store. Should we use a broom handle? Should we take our jerry boards off our bow? Or is Slim heading out to the forest with a hacksaw? You will just have to wait and see...we hope you enjoy this weeks episode and we can't wait to get this show back on the road! FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/sailingnakama/ AND FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/sailingnakama Chapters: 00:00 We are alive and excited to be back! 01:15 The actual start of the episode 03:50 An island of dreams 05:40 Our tiller is completely rotted, and we don't have a spare... 06:53 We've gotta work with what we've got. 10:40 The blue lagoon 14:53 Finalising repairs 18:08 A rewarding beverage 18:48 A couple more words
