Mein 1. WE MADE IT!! After a year and a half sailing the Brazilian coast we finally set sail on our longest passage so far. Over 2000 Nautical Miles from Brazil to the Caribbean. Thanks so much to everyone that made and still makes our journey possible!! And a special thanks to all our Patrons. If you need meteorological support for ocean passages: http://metplan.org We are Duca and Roberta, a Brazilian couple that during a sabbatical trip in 2016 decided to follow our dream. So, we created "Odd Life Crafting", a project composed of many smaller projects that we call seasons. The first one was the creation of Odd Life Crafting. The idea was to build a metal boat to be able to travel the world taking our house with us, but we didn't have money for that. So, we started the next season: we built a tiny shipping container house with no prior experience in building to gain some skills to build a boat. When we were almost finished we found a boat 700km away from our hometown that was neglected for over 22 years and we spent 2 years refitting her (Season 3). The last season has been a dream coming true… we are exploring the Brazilian coast with OUR BOAT that we called Odd.. But wait? What happened to the house? Check out our website to know more about it https://www.oddlifecrafting.com/blog We hope to inspire others to follow their dreams. Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 129 In this episode of our boat restoration we get all emotional about finally starting to paint our wooden hull. This is a crucial step towards a protected and long-lasting hull, but it definitely hurt us to say goodbye to the beautiful exposed wood. Besides that, we find more rot on our boat, this time in our bowsprit. Shout out to @david_shih for teaching me the word Cabosil. Thanks mate! 👉 SUBSCRIBE to not miss out on the new episodes: https://bit.ly/3dI3hBn YOU CAN SUPPORT OUR PROJECT: 👉 By becoming a patron - join to unlock exclusive content: https://www.patreon.com/sailingyaba 👉 Through Paypal donations: https://bit.ly/3kR4Ezo or sailingyaba@gmail.com 👉 By wearing our products: https://shopsailingyaba.com/ We are forever grateful to everyone that is living our dream with us ♥️ 🇧🇷 Legendas em Português em todos os episódos! 🇪🇸 Subtítulos en español en todos los episodios! 💙 Who are we? We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. More about us: 👉 About us + Q&A https://youtu.be/TldDlohjwTs 👉 our website with more info about the project http://www.sailingyaba.com 💙 Massive thanks to our amazing team of carpenters that never let us down and continue to amaze us at every step of the process: Toninho, Zeca, Hélio, Claiton, William, Nezo, Nico, Adilson, Beto and Luiz. Wow! Engine problem solved (fingers crossed), how exciting! We had our fuel polished and the fuel tank completely cleaned. The engine purrs like a kitten and we’re hoping no more fuel delivery issues. It was a wonderful discovery process and lots of information was revealed about our tank. Such as: • the tank is fiberglass and not stainless • we had baffles-unfortunately with rusted rods • tank capacity is 170 gallons of fuel - not 132 gallons as thought previously • we now know the shape of the tank • when the fuel gauge says empty…we have about 10 more gallons of fuel Y’all, we saw a great air show and did some dancing, to celebrate finally getting to the bottom of the fuel delivery problem. Warm hugs and big kisses to our subscribers! We love hearing from you all.😘🥰 If you like our videos and haven’t already, please subscribe to our channel, Sailing Intermission. Thanks to AG1 for sponsoring today’s video! The process of rebuilding Eva has been emotional to say the least. From bad glass, to bad glue we've seen a lot of poor workmanship by Beneteau. Well today we get to experience that once again. And, once again we're a little bit surprised. I don't know why. Have you ever heard the saying, “Don't bite off more than you can chew because nobody looks attractive spitting it back out.”?  Well, that’s been me for the past few weeks.  I had a plan, it started to change, and rather than let it be what it was, I held onto it desperately.  That was a mistake… ❤ Join Our Crew! ❤ For exclusive content, behind the scenes & Q&A's: http://bit.ly/patreon-wynn https://www.gonewiththewynns.com/sailing ☝Full Scoop On The Blog 📷 Photo & Video Gear 📷 https://www.gonewiththewynns.com/photo-video-gear 📱 UPDATES on Social 📱 INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/the_wynns/ FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/GoneWithTheWynns 📧EMAIL notifications, so you never miss a video🍦 http://bit.ly/gwtw-social 🎶 MUSIC for vids. 2 Months Free: https://bit.ly/artlist-GWTW Artists – Cayson Renshaw, Benj Heard, Amick Culter 🎨 Creative Assets for Vids (SFX, Templates & Presets): - https://bit.ly/motion-array-GWTW 🎽GET YOUR SWAG ON: https://gonewiththewynns.teemill.com/ 💯FREE ways to support our productions http://bit.ly/join-gwtw “Easy does it” hasn’t ever been a part of my mantra.  But this time my desire to create the dream vacation and keep up with everything else collided in a less-than-desirable way.  I couldn’t let the whole situation just slide by without acknowledging it.  Then of course, because it involves the people I love most, I tend to be extra emotional about it all. Luckily it wasn’t an epic failure, and nothing was ruined, just a very good reminder to set reasonable expectations. And speaking of expectations…that is what has led us to the boat show.  We are itching to get a peek at a now 3-year-old HH50 Ocean Cruiser.  How has it held up?  What’s the wear and tear look like?  What problems or issues has the owner run into?  These are all things we’re eager to know. I believe it’s the first Ocean Cruiser HH ever built and will be a much more realistic expectation of what our HH44 OC will resemble.  Because we didn’t go for the Sport Cruiser with the carbon mast and daggerboards.  So we shall see… ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It's all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. We've lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste. We sailed over 2000 miles to get here ! Our final destination for the season is Porto montenegro in the city of TIVAT in Montenegro. It took us 7 months to cruise and get here, sailing thru Spain and Italy. Our sail boat cruise speed is about 6 knots, so we are definetelly not in a hurry. Sailing 2000 nautical miles does not seem much and at speeds of around 6 knots it takes a while to arrive anywhere. We have just arrive in Porto montengro and we are super excited to get to see a bit more of this country. See you on the video. 💻Thirsty for more info ? Our first extended trip was a road trip in the US were we got to see over 20 states and ride 30.000 kilometers on our ECO Friendly Van. It was simply awesome and raised our awareness to the fact that we did not have to be tight down to a land home to continue to work and travel. Now, we’re on a sailing exploration journey attempting to circumnavigate the world aboard JOY. Patricia did not have any previous sailing experience, but was willing to learn on the fly. Now neither of us are too technical and know how to fix things too much, super rich or retired, but we always had big dreams. We left Bequia and started our journey to Martinique. We didn’t want to do the crossings at night, so we broke our journey up and stopped in St Vincent and St Lucia along the way. We had been watching the weather and decided to take a gap that was showing very good conditions. Unfortunately, yet again, it wasn’t the conditions we were reading. The swell and wave intervals were shorter than predicted and the waves were bigger. We powered through and were grateful for the stops that we had planned because everyday was a beat. Chateaubelair, in St Vincent was our first stop and it was a hair raising one. The anchorage was deep and the bottom was very rocky and full of coral heads. After setting the anchor the first time, we dragged, so we lifted it, and re anchored and it held. We did 360 degree turns all night so we had to leave enough swing room between us and the shore to keep ourselves in a safe area. After St Vincent, we stopped at St Lucia in Rodney Bay, a beautiful huge anchorage, and we got to have a very calm and quiet night. After catching up on sleep we headed across to Martinique and anchored in St Anne. We headed into town and checked in, a quick and easy process compared to the rest of the islands that we’ve been checking in and out of.

In this shorter episode Assarain IV sails from Samana Bay to Ocean World Marina near Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. We triple up on a moto-taxi to get into Puerto Plata, see the birds and ride the water slides at Ocean World adventure park, and meet some nice people at the "Ocean World Yacht Club" hangout area. Before long, we're off again, this time to Great Inagua Bahamas, where we clear in. Thanks for following! Video captured on Samsung Galaxy S10 and A12 phones, by a GoPro 8 (any underwater shots), and a Mavic Mini 2 drone (air shots). We head further up the Tamar River anchoring at Little Devils Elbow, where we walk to a nearby winery passing a very creative street with custom letter boxes made from old gas bottles, picking wild blackberries along the way. Returning from our days outing, we luckily find our anchor suddenly dragging just as we arrive to see it leave without us onboard. Even though we had sat safely already for over a day and sat through several strong wind blows, it shows you always need to be careful. We finally discover the cause of our blockage for our through hull, a fish incredibly got drawn up the pipe! We travel further upstream under Batman Bridge to Gravelly Beach, and visit Stoney Rise and Marion's Wineries, climbing up a very old, worn and rickety jetty to get to shore. We then head off very early in the morning across the top and sail overnight down the east coast to the picturesque and most photographed beach in Tasmania, Wineglass Bay. We’re Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022. We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change. We are just an ordinary Aussie couple exploring what this great world has to offer and hope that we can inspire others just as we were by watching other YouTube channels to follow our dreams. #sailingboat #sailingyacht #yacht #yachting #yachtinglifestyle #cruisinglife #circumnavigationaustralia #seawind1260 #seawindcats #sailing #tasmania

If you are considering The Great American Loop, this boat will interest you for several reasons. First, she’s economical….1.5 -2 gal/hour at 7-8 knots. New Westerbeke 7.5KW generator Second, she’s very safe. When you run aground, (and you will !) the steel keel has a 1 inch shoe to protect you, plus the prop is enclosed in the deep draft of the center keel. This is a ‘character boat’ inside and out. The Douglas fir interior has the craftsmanship of a master finish carpenter. Arched beams. Beautiful cabinets. Meanwhile the exterior signals Classic due to a sheer that comes out of working boats of 100 yrs ago. So, she’s economical, safe, salty, and affordable. She was custom-built and completed in 2013 in Duluth MN, and then did the loop. For the past several yrs she has be cruising the Gulf and currently moored in Longboat Key near Sarasota. The owners are seriously considering another “liveaboard” and must sell the current boat to afford the next purchase. The original build cost was $330,000 (documented in Passage Maker), and available for half that cost. Great value for a reasonable price. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below. Time to head south—for real this time! In this episode, we sail across the Arctic Ocean from Longyearbyen, Svalbard back to Tromsø, Norway. It's a four-day crossing over Barents Sea, starting off with flat seas and motoring for two days before the wind finally picks up and we can sail the rest of the way. Crossing these cold, remote waters again gives us time to reflect on just how far we've come—and what’s next. ⛵️ Welcome aboard Bushpoint Sailing! Hi from Jeanette & Fredrik 🇸🇪! We’re the couple behind Bushpoint, sailing our boat, just the two of us on small and big adventures! Join us as we explore remote coastlines, wild anchorages, and beautiful sailing routes through northern Europe and beyond. In the summer of 2022 we sailed all the way to 80 degrees North, to Svalbard! 📺 Missed our Svalbard Sailing?
