Week-end de Pentecôte, C'est parti pour le Rallye Normandie Cup au départ du Havre.😃 C'est avec grand plaisir et un peu d'appréhension que nous partons le vendredi soir pour rejoindre les participants du Rallye organisé par Julien Lebas, Maitre du port au port de plaisance du Havre. Et pour cause, nous avons un vent avec des rafales à 30 nœuds d'annoncé et une houle de 1.5m avec une période de 5s sur Ouistreham. La chance c'est que nous avons le vent dans le dos, c'est la raison pour laquelle nous ferons route juste avec le génois pour éviter les empannages sauvages. Nous sommes heureux d'arriver vers 00H30 au ponton d'accueil, mais il faut encore attendre le passage de l'écluse de 1H30 pour pouvoir dormir tranquillement dans le port. Le Samedi est une journée assez tranquille coté navigation car nous resterons sur le canal de Caen. Par contre la météo annoncée pour le lendemain nous fait changer nos plans. Le vent et la houle annoncé le dimanche après-midi nous persuade de partir le Dimanche matin au plus tôt. Le retour vers le Havre se fera au près avec un courant de face. Nous arriverons vers 13H30 avec la surprise de pouvoir s'amarrer au pontons des régates, ce qui nous permettra d'être au plus près de l'endroit où nous passeront la soirée. Nous passons l'après-midi à la plage avec une bonne glace au goûter. Puis une super soirée organisée par le SNPH avec un bon repas.

Because of supply issues, we had to switch our high build primer...and our results were not what we were hoping for. After months and months of fairing, we have some very exciting footage to bring you, and that is because we are on to our next section of priming!! Although we have most of the guest hull faired (with the exception of the aft berth) we were waiting until we could do one large spray before moving onto the next step. That and....we couldn't refill our order of high build primer. Unfortunately for us, TotalBoat is not currently producing their high build primer, and after months of waiting for it to get stocked again, we finally had to switch over to Awl Grip. We're using this in virgin priming areas, such as the guest hull. Starting in the v-berth, we wanted to see how it would work out for us. Coming out of the mixer thinner, we were excited, but it just didn't seem to be spraying on well. An issue with the primer, or our gun? It was later determined our gun was not spraying well, but when it came time to sand we found out that TotalBoat wins hands down. So we spent a little time on a small island called Union Island before we headed down to Grenada. And along these islands what we were most fascinated about was how amazing the people are. The culture is so different. People have a smile on their faces, super friendly and they love helping each other. It is always so wonderful to see that. After exploring a bit and meeting people we decided to head down to the southern beach of the same island. On the way we got to see swinging bridges and the kids loved jumping into the blue water! After spending the evening there we started heading down to Grenada the next day. We had a great sail and finally arrived at the beautiful island. All of us decided to take a walk along the towns and it was so amazing! We met a guy over there who wanted to take us on a little tour. Of course we said yes.
