Vi seglar norrut mot Karlshamn. Där ankrar vi i en liten fin vik. När vi skulle tanka fick vi problem! 🙁 Vår bogpropeller slutade fungera. Det var inte lätt att lägga till i hamnen då… Tomas fixade felet och därefter fortsatte vi till en liten hamn (Sandhamn) för att bara övernatta. Nästa morgon fortsatte vi mot Kalmar. Eng: We sail north towards Karlshamn. There we anchor in a nice little bay. When we were going to refuel, we had a problem! 🙁 Our bow thruster stopped working. It was not easy to add to the port then… Tomas fixed the error and then we continued to a small harbor (Sandhamn) to just spend the night. The next morning we continued towards Kalmar. Ty: Wir segeln nach Norden in Richtung Karlshamn. Dort ankern wir in einer schönen kleinen Bucht. Als wir tanken wollten, hatten wir ein Problem! 🙁 Unser Bugstrahlruder funktionierte nicht mehr. Damals war es nicht einfach, den Hafen zu erweitern ... Tomas hat den Fehler behoben und dann sind wir weiter zu einem kleinen Hafen (Sandhamn) gefahren, um einfach die Nacht zu verbringen. Am nächsten Morgen fuhren wir weiter Richtung Kalmar. Finska: Purjehdimme pohjoiseen kohti Karlshamnia. Siellä ankkuroimme mukavaan pieneen lahteen. Kun menimme tankkaamaan, meillä oli ongelma! 🙁 Keulapotkurimme lakkasi toimimasta. Porttiin lisääminen ei silloin ollut helppoa… Tomas korjasi virheen ja sitten jatkoimme pieneen satamaan (Sandhamn) vain yöpymään. Seuraavana aamuna jatkoimme matkaa kohti Kalmaria.

I'm using this pressure cooker that my husband bought me. He says this is the "Way" the sailor's cook most of their meals since it cooks faster and is used on a stovetop. In this recipe for clam chowder, I substituted the dairy products for coconut oil and cream. The result was a richer tastier version of clam chowder without losing any of the flavor. We finished crossing the Atlantic Ocean!! After hanging out in in Salvador for a few days we finally got to go island hopping again! A stop in the island of Ilha De Bom Jesus will be one we will never forget. While cooking breakfast we heard a loud "Squaaaawwwk" to find two wild and curious Macaws wanted to come say hello. A bit of an update on internet this week folks, recorded from the floor 😉 Then I go on the hunt for a weird smell, and decide it's high time I pulled out the fridge! Join me on another adventure to find more fantastic filth!

This Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 50 Deck Saloon from first owner has been meticulously maintained, carefully handled and only privately used. The 50DS has all ingredients for comfortable cruising whether you are on or below deck. She offers good sailing performances and is easy to handle with her In-mast furling mainsail, furling Genoa and electric winches. The skipper as well as the non-sailors can easily move around in the huge cockpit with twin helm steering, ample seating and big cockpit table. She is well equipped with a 75hp diesel engine with low engine hours, a bow thruster, solar panels, Raymarine navigation package including AIS and Navtex and a tender with outboard engine. Furthermore; an as new sprayhood and ditto bimini, electric windlass, covers, Dan Buoy, Jon Buoy and Epirb. Also worth mentioning and quite indispensable when you’re underway is the big lazaret and the huge sail locker forward. This Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 50 Deck Saloon can easily accommodate 6 overnight guests and is throughout fitted out with diesel heating. She has a big and comfortable saloon with a u-shaped dining area to starboard, a settee and a nav desk to port and a sizable galley half a step down to starboard. The upholstery, floors, woodwork, matrasses, blinds, etc. are (as the pictures show) in pristine condition. The master cabin with ensuite is located forward. And the two double bed guest cabins aft share the second bathroom. If you are looking for a versatile and comfortable yacht with good sailing characteristics then this might be the one for you. ** This yacht has been sold. The 4x4 Adventure continues we drive our Truck Camper Trailer through the town of La Paz Mexico on our way to some amazing secluded beaches. The Beaches offer some amazing Camping and opportunities to try out Flyfishing on some turquoise Sand Flats in Baja Mexico.

Prepping for the 2023 day sailing season begins. I explore plans for using my Orca sail from the Sunfish to be raised on the O’Day. Will it work as a mainsail or as a genoa since it is much larger than the jib. There is more boat work to be done but she is coming along pretty sweet. Stay tuned for her season premiere when we test out the colorful “genoa” in a couple of weeks.

O Atrevida no Brasil navegou inicialmente nas carinhosas mãos das tradicionais famílias Fontoura e Mourandrade. Quando adquirido por um grupo empresarial estrangeiro, quase afundou no Rio de Janeiro e na sequência permaneceu abandonado em seco no pátio de um estaleiro na cidade de Niterói. Logo após a virada do século, o cansado S/V ATREVIDA foi apresentado pelos amigos Auro Mourandrade e Manoel Chaves ao Sr. Gilberto Miranda. Daí surgiu o sonho de resgatar a alma de tão bela escuna. Com o apoio e entusiasmo de Gilberto Miranda junto a Manoel Chaves do estaleiro MCP Yachts surgiu a saga de restaurar o S/V ATREVIDA, resgatando-o de um estado deplorável. Primeiro os furos do casco foram fechados, a embarcação lançada na água e rebocada por um barco pesqueiro até Santos e colocado a seco no estaleiro MCP YACHTS. Em contatos com o Museu Herreshoff e o renomado M.I.T, os planos originais foram obtidos em Bristol, EUA. Assim uma equipe habilidosa de profissionais embarcou em uma intensiva obra de 14 meses. I take an unusual passage route to sail solo directly to Northern Norway from Iceland. Conditions are tough, but by sailing further North than planned, I was able to turn downwind when winds of 30-35 arrived. I unfurl and furl the 'gennaker', deal with an engine issue, mistake a lighthouse for an aircraft carrier, and finally meet a barman with Châteauneuf-du-Pape in stock.

All the work is done, Marie is home in France growing our child and I'm delivering the boat 4000miles from Sydney, Australia to Lombok, Indonesia and I need to be there by mid September in order to fly to France to be with Marie for the birth. Durlindana 3 victorious maxi in 151 Miglia-Trofeo Cetilar An especially light 14th edition of the 151 Miglia-Trofeo Cetilar saw the course from Livorno to Punta Ala via the Giraglia rock shortened to 124 miles, while prior to the start crews focussed on lightening their yachts; heavy weather sails were offloaded along with anything extraneous on board, with, in some cases, crew numbers also reduced. Out on the race course competitors enjoyed the warmth of an early summer offshore race and a magnificent sunset on Thursday night but otherwise had to maintain strict concentration in order to hunt out every available zephyr in the otherwise weak fickle conditions.
