After two months away visiting family in Canada, we finally return to our sailboat in Luperón, Dominican Republic. Leaving your boat unattended in the tropics is always a gamble, so we were relieved to find her looking surprisingly good when we arrived back. Of course, boat life means there’s always something to do. We start the process of bringing the boat back to life with a good clean and a few projects. One of the bigger ones in this episode is transforming our worn countertop by sanding it down and creating a beach-inspired epoxy finish. Coral and Kai are entertaining each others a lot more which makes it all easier. But life in Luperón isn’t just about boat work. This cruiser town has a unique community vibe. We enjoy local restaurants, movie nights with other sailors, and shopping for fresh local food around town. It feels good to be back aboard and settling into Caribbean cruising life again. If you enjoy sailing adventures, boat projects, and the reality of liveaboard life with a family, make sure to subscribe and follow along with our journey. #SailingLife #BoatLife #LiveaboardLife #SailingFamily #DominicanRepublic #Luperon #SailingYouTube #BoatProjects #DIYBoat #CruisingLife #CaribbeanSailing #SailboatLife #WildlyIntrepid #FamilyAdventure #LiveaboardFamily ***************************************** SUPPORT OUR VIDEOS ON PATREON https://www.patreon.com/WildlyIntrepid MAKE A ONE TIME CONTRIBUTION https://www.paypal.me/wildlyintrepid WILDLY INTREPID MERCH https://teespring.com/en-GB/stores/wildly-intrepid HELP us get what we NEED Amazon Wish List https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/2GTH6AGVPH4LP?ref_=wl_share ***************************************** Subscribe to Join our Intrepid Tribe! https://www.youtube.com/c/WildlyIntrepid?sub_confirmation=1 ***************************************** FOR UPDATES https://www.facebook.com/wildlyintrepid/ https://www.instagram.com/wildlyintrepid/ ***************************************** Defender Marine It's a great place to get your marine supplies from plus we get a small kickback when you buy through our affiliate link. defender.pxf.io/xL9D9v Here is a link to purchase SOK batteries and help out the channel at the same time without costing you anything extra. https://www.us.sokbattery.com/?ref=zS7whJNCsEGFPu BougeRV FOR 32% OFF ON all ED series and CRD series fridge and battery CODE: Wildly Or use link:https://bit.ly/3ZYruez UNOWIX batteries use the Promo Code UNOWIX10 for an extra 10% discount. E no meio disso tudo, a Cape to Rio solo. 👇 IN QUESTO VIDEO SCOPRIRETE: 👇 🚗 On the road verso Bundaberg: l'Australia è immensa (e piena di noci di Macadamia).

This is Part 2 of our Sydney to Gold Coast boat delivery – and the miles really start to add up. After reaching Port Stephens, we set off on the long run north toward the Gold Coast. The remaining journey would push us through a couple of gruelling 30-hour legs, plenty of night sailing, and – as seems to follow the ARGO crew everywhere – more squalls and storms. At one point the wind really switched on during a night sail and we found ourselves absolutely flying. Even with three reefs in the main and just a handkerchief of jib, the boat was rocketing along through the dark. Not that we were alone out there. For long stretches we were escorted by dolphins riding the bow wave – something that never gets old no matter how many miles you sail. And in one completely unexpected moment, we even had a low fly-over from two fighter jets that certainly woke the crew up and had the obligatory calls of “negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full”! The final leg north brought bigger seas, with much of the day spent running in 2–3 metre swell rolling in behind us. It’s exhilarating surfing down those waves – but a little intimidating seeing that wall of water chasing you along. Of course, when it came time to pull the mainsail down, we had to turn straight back into it. Howie headed onto the cabin top (tethered in, thankfully) while the bow climbed and fell over the swell. As we tipped over the edge of one wave he reckons it stood at least 5 metres high – maybe 8 if you ask him – before we clawed our way back up and finally turned to run for home. All up, the trip covered 463 nautical miles over 82 sailing hours. An incredible experience, a lot learned along the way, and even better to share it with good friends. Now… sleep. Bringing an EPRIB on a plane can be difficult if you do not have the right documents to show at the security check. In this video we go through the documents that we brought with us when we had the EPIRB in the hand luggage on the airplane. In addition to what follows the products in the box, we had the following documents: Classification Flowchart - Litium Metal Batteries MED-B Tron 60AIS (European approval, product) MED-D (European approval, Production) PSI Tron 60AIS UN 38.3 Test Summary report Tron 60AIS Declaration of Conformity, Tron 60AIS Inventory of haz mat, Tron 60AIS (2 pages/Sheet) This was all printed out on paper, and put in the tray for inspection together with the EPIRB. The security had a look at the EPIRB, and then on all the documents. They did not check the documents, so my guess is that since I was so well prepared, I probably had everything in full order.

Fernandina Beach, at the northern tip of Amelia Island, is steeped in history. In many ways, little has changed—but look closely and you’ll notice the quiet passage of time: trees have grown tall and full, roads are now paved, sidewalks line the streets, and modern touches continue to appear. Yet the Victorian architecture of the historic homes remains remarkably intact, looking much as it did more than a century ago. Most of these houses were built between the mid 1800s and early 1900s, and many have been lovingly maintained or restored to their original splendor. They were crafted with pride and attention to detail—qualities rarely seen in today’s housing market. Some of these homes are true works of art. Join us as we wander these streets, admiring the architecture and stepping briefly into a bygone age. Our journey continues, and we invite you to share in the adventure. The Yandoo team of John Winning Jr, Fang Warren and Lewis Brake became the world 18ft Skiff champions on Sydney Harbour today despite only managing to finish in seventh position in Race 8 of the 2026 JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff World Championship, presented by The Winning Group, which was sailed in extremely light conditions. In one of most incredible sailing races you would ever want to see, the Lazarus Capital Partners team of Tom Cunich, Marc Chapon and Tim Westwood produced a brilliant final lap of the course to defeat Sixt (Jacob Marks, Alex Marinelli and Matt Doyle) by 1m17s, with The Kitchen Maker (Lachlan Steel, George Morton and Jerome Watts) just 9s further back in third place. Shaw and Partner Financial Services-Australia (Keagan York) finished in fourth place only 1s ahead of Queensland’s GC Sails (Scott Cunningham). Australian champion Balmain (Henry Larkings) was sixth, ahead of Yandoo, Shaw and Partners –New Zealand (Eli Liefting), Rag & Famish Hotel (Ben Crafoord) and Vaikobi (Kirk Mitchell) to round out the top-10. With only tomorrow’s final race of the championship still to be sailed, Yandoo has a net total of 15 points, after discarding her worst result. Regardless of the team’s placing in the final race, it can finish no worse than with a final total of 22 points, which is two better than the best score its nearest rival, Shaw and Partners-Australia can achieve. Shaw and Partners Financial Services-Australia is presently on 23, ahead of the third placed GC Sails on 39 points, and is assured of second placing overall. GC Sails is in a good position to take the remaining podium place but will need to consolidate to stay ahead of Lazarus Capital Partners (46 points) and Sixt (47 points), which are in fourth and fifth placings respectively. Shaw and Partners-New Zealand is the leading international team, in sixth place, with a total of 52 points, followed by Germany’s Black Knight (Heinrich von Bayern) on 53, Vaikobi on 55, Smeg (Ash Rooklyn) on 61 and The Kitchen Maker on 62 points. Today’s race was sailed in extremely light wind, which forced the race officer to shorten the windward-leeward course from four laps to three. From the first windward beat from the vicinity of Garden Island to the weather mark in Rose Bay, the race provided constant changing conditions, leaders and positions throughout the entire fleet. Lazarus and Shaw and Partners-Australia were early leaders as the fleet headed to Rose Bay but it was the German crew on Black Knight which led by 15s from Lazarus when spinnakers were set to run back to the gates at the bottom of the course. Shaw and Partners was relegated back to third, ahead of Club Marine (Emma Rankin), GC Sails, Shaw and Partners-NZ, Berlin Bears (Philipp Nocke, Germany), Rag & Famish Hotel and Yandoo, which was 1m10s from the lead. Teams chose many angles in the search for the best wind and by the time the fleet reached the bottom gates on the first lap GC Sails had opened up a 50s lead over Shaw and Partners-Australia and Yandoo. Black Knight, who led at the weather mark was nowhere to be seen. The next beat was no easier to predict and again psitions were changing by the minutes. This time Shaw and Partners-Australia had a 35s lead from GC Sails with Yanddo, now 55s behind the leader, in third place. Shaw and Partners-Australia retained her lead on the following spinnaker run and headed on the final windward leg 45s ahead of Rag & Famish, GC Sails, Yandoo and Shaw and Partners-NZ. There was a massive group following the five leaders and one of the last teams to round the gate was Sixt. Trying to describe the final windward leg would not be possible as the positions were changing faster than you could check. Lazarus had gone to the LHS of the course and was now in the lead while Sixt, which had been in about 20th place at the bottom mark was now in second place, 12s from the lead. Lazarus’ crew handled the conditions superbly and powered away from the fleet on the run to the finish while Sixt and The Kitchen Maker had a great battle to decide second and third place. If the predicted 14-14 knots NE wind prevails tomorrow we should get a great action of speed sailing and spectacular spinnaker runs. What we thought would be a simple one-week haul out quickly turned into something much bigger… In this episode of Stella Overboard, we haul our sailboat Stella out of the water at Rebak Marina in Langkawi, Malaysia to begin some major maintenance and upgrades before continuing our sailing adventure across Southeast Asia. But almost immediately, things start going wrong. Within the first hour on the hard stand, we discover that removing a propeller is not nearly as simple as it sounds. After hours of hammering, heating, and pulling, we finally get it off — only to realize that we also need to remove the rudder before we can slide the prop shaft out. With the help of the amazing Rebak Marina team, our boatyard neighbors, and friends at Yacht Supplies Malaysia, we lift Stella back into the travel lift to drop the rudder — a job that turns out to be much bigger than expected. And just when we think we’re making progress… another problem appears. After removing our old cutless bearing and spending hours installing a brand new one, we discover the shaft won’t fit back through it, forcing us to cut the brand-new bearing back out again. Now we’re stuck without the part we need — and the only solution might be flying to Australia to pick up a custom one. Boat life isn’t always tropical anchorages and sailing into sunsets… sometimes it’s boatyard chaos, unexpected repairs, and learning everything the hard way. But every step brings us closer to getting Stella back in the water and ready for our next big adventure. ⚓ In this episode: Hauling Stella out of the water Travel lift and hard stand process Removing the propeller and prop shaft Dropping the rudder Cutless bearing replacement Boatyard life in Langkawi DIY sailboat maintenance ⛵ About Us We’re Camille and Jesse, a young couple who worked in the Australian mines to save enough money to buy a sailboat and chase a life of adventure at sea. Now we live aboard our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 39i sailing through Southeast Asia, sharing the highs, lows, and everything in between. We leave Kota Kinabalu and sail around the northern tip of Borneo, stopping at several spectacular bays along the way and enjoying another wonderful rally dinner at Usukan Cove. Continuing on to Kudat, we attempt to anchor and med-moor but struggle to get the anchor to set in the tricky conditions. Thankfully several rally boats come to our rescue, lending a hand and reminding us once again how supportive the cruising community can be. The rally tour bus then takes us on a land adventure to the Tip of Borneo, where the South China Sea and Sulu Sea meet. Along the way we visit a local homestay and a fascinating honeybee farm. From Kudat we carefully navigate through a maze of reefs to reach Turtle Islands Park. Normally off limits to boats, the Sail Malaysia Rally receives special permission to visit this protected sanctuary. That evening we’re fortunate enough to witness an incredible moment — a female turtle coming ashore to lay her eggs — and learn about the conservation efforts helping ensure the hatchlings have the best possible chance of survival. Leaving the islands behind, we sail to Sandakan where we refuel No Regrets II at the fuel barge and fill our new additional fuel bladders for the journey ahead. While in Sandakan we visit the remarkable Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, getting an unforgettable close look at these endangered animals. Finally, Geoff and Anne arrive to join us as new crew for the next leg of our adventure. WHO ARE WE? Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370! Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other YouTube channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. #boatfoolssailing #bluewatersailing #robertperry #sailboattour #sailing Robert H. Perry's COOLEST Sailboat? Fits & Ships in a Container | Far Harbour 39 TOUR | $99k The Robert H. Perry–designed Far Harbour 39 is unlike almost any cruising sailboat ever built. This remarkable boat was created with one very unusual design brief: build the largest cruising sailboat possible that can fit inside a standard 40-foot shipping container — hull, keel, mast and all. Why? So owners could ship their own boat anywhere in the world and start cruising without having to make long ocean passages. Much has been written about this boat and we have put some links below for further reading. In this episode of BoatFools Sailing, Canadian Ken and Tristram Coburn tour Hull No. 1 of the Far Harbour 39, a truly innovative cruising sailboat that proves brilliant design can flourish even under strict constraints. CHAPTERS: 00:00 Intro 00:15 Canadian Ken and I introduce the Far Harbour 39 01:33 Up On Deck 06:42 The Cockpit 09:51 Below Decks! 14:22 The Head & V-Berth 18:29 The Yanmar Engine 20:29 A Near Fall! 21:02 The Rudder, Keel & Hull 25:13 Final Thoughts! Despite the narrow 7’5” beam required to fit inside a container, Perry managed to create a boat that: • Sails surprisingly well • Handles offshore conditions confidently • Offers comfortable accommodations for a cruising couple • Can be disassembled and reassembled in a boatyard for shipping around the world The result is a long, slender, efficient hull that moves beautifully through the water while delivering a bright pilothouse interior and practical cruising layout. The boat we toured, Inbox, is Hull No. 1 of the Far Harbour 39 and she has already visited many corners of the world — with a longest passage of just 107 nautical miles. Instead of crossing oceans, she simply sails locally, gets loaded into a container, and ships to the next cruising ground. She remains in good condition, well equipped, and ready for her next adventure. Join us as we take a full tour of this fascinating container-ship-able cruising sailboat and explore why this clever design might be one of Robert Perry’s most intriguing boats ever built. A energia, a cor do mar, tudo ali parecia especial.
