December is not the best time to scuba dive in the Daymaniyat Islands in terms of visibility and larger life (whale sharks & mantas are more common in the summer months), but the opportunity presented itself so I didn't want to miss out. Saw some really nice ocean life including sting rays, box fish, lion fish, moray eels, nudibranches, and massive schools of fish. Also saw the largest sting ray I've ever seen and hung out with that giant green turtle - worth it!

We fly to Corfu to survey the Lagoon 440 Algasi. A beautiful boat with lots of extra and reasonably priced, but with some maintenance needed. Ep.122 Justyna, 22 years old, was miserable at university in Poland when something incredible happened. She saw an ad online of a couple wanting to sell their sail boat, but only to the RIGHT person. Il est temps de dégréer les voiles et de démâter avec la potence personnelle. Pas besoin de grue, l'opération se déroule simplement à 2 personnes en quelques minutes. Ensuite les 2 parties des mâts sont séparées, rangées et sanglées sous le bateau.

Our sailing trip in Finnish Archipelago sea continued all the way down to Jumo. That rugged beautiful Island with great endless views. All the hospitality with local products were great, especially that warm smoked salmon that we tried. Also I had to do some maintenance work as the attachment for Autopilot was damaged during the sail. In addition to that, in Berghamn our anchor got stuck in the bottom and when I had to use force to lift it, it bended little bit so I had to fix that also. This stunning yacht designed by Robert Clark was built in 1950 at the shipyard of John Hayes & Sons in Milsons Point. "Southwinds" has been strongly built with1 1/2 inch thick Huon Pine planks, spotted gum ribs and springers with teak decks. An evocative boat with plenty of history and character, yet all the comfort of a wonderful well-designed layout with spacious cockpit and comfortable live-aboard spaces. Anyone who has spent time aboard "Southwinds" will tell you the sailing is just a part of the enjoyment. She sails fast and steadily due to her long waterline and solid build. The decks are expansive as can be expected on a boat this long, while her Ketch rig keeps her manageable to sail. She has furling mizzen, main and genoa with all controls from the cockpit. Hydraulic steering from the Teak and brass traditional ships wheel. Below, rich timbers, large windows, and high wide floors create a luxurious and spacious feel. The comfortable dining area and open galley offer a large, warm entertaining space. The berths have plenty of light and storage. There is a separate head from the bathroom, so you can spend more time undisturbed in the bath. Yes, thats right, a bespoke wooden bath with traditional brass fittings. "SouthWinds" has a rich history. Under the name Valhalla, she was one of the first yachts to be skippered around the world by a woman. She has competed in the Sydney to Hobart and shes been owned at various time by notable Australians including Iain Finlay, Sailor Tim Herbert and John Hallas of Ella Bache, sponsor of Jessica Watsons single handed circumnavigation. Having had many names over the years, when she was restored in New Zealand, he name was restored as well. The plans for "Southwinds" from 1948, including pencils of her keel profile and cabins and inks of her lines, half breadth and ketch sail plan in 1:16, lie in the Museum at Greenwich.
