The Boat Life http://bit.ly/HelpFundMoreVideos or buy yourself a shirt http://www.TheBoat.Life/shop This Building has no walls The Boat Life Daily Vlog Winnipeg Canada The Canadian experience continues as we vlog in Canada. We spent another day exploring Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada after being told some history by a local yesterday. We walk the french quarter and take a look at a cathedral that has no walls. It has burned down 3 times! It seemed worthy of a quick vlog. That is the Boat Life daily vlog. A&W hashbrowns beat Tim Hortons by a landslide. In other news, we visit Saint Boniface, the French Quarter, of Winnipeg Manitoba. While there we visit the Saint Boniface Cathedral, which has burnt down three times. We also visited the nunery and learned about Louis Riel. This is The Boat Life. Nic Morganti and Melissa Auman are moving onto a sailboat. The plan was sell everything, buy a boat, live on a boat, and travel and explore the Caribbean and the world while living aboard! The uniform is board shorts and bikinis. Simple plan, but lots to learn and do along the way. Join our adventure as we sail away on sv Dodi, our Island Packet IP27, live on a sailboat, and explore life aboard. This is our sailing travel vlog The Boat Life. its like van life, but in a sailboat, oh and on the water. Thanks for watching! Want to see more videos. In our first ever episode of Sailing Chelsea, we begin our adventure sailing around the world on our Hanse 430E sail boat. We leave from Lymington, England and head across to Alderney. It's a bit of a baptism by fire as we encounter some pretty rough sailing weather and realise we have something wrong with our propeller. We manage to sail through the weather and keep our spirits high and our fingers crossed, as we enter Alderney harbour in the pitch black and then try to find a mooring ball! After we recover from an eventful first sail, we relax on a beautiful island and explore the war ruins and beautiful scenery Alderney has to offer. Remember you can follow our journey on Sailing Chelsea YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram, or visit our website for up to date details on where we are in the world, blog articles and more. One of the most beautiful swimming spots ever and the best cave systems by boat we have ever experienced! Welcome to the Peloponnese peninsula the region of southern Greece. A quick stop over for Nikau as we deadline it to Tunisia. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

Here's some of the tips and tricks we learned when we had to prepare for a hurricane. We are by no means experts, this was the first time we had to do this. With that being said, I think we did pretty good. If you have any other recommendations, please add them to the comment section! Thank you so much for watching. Prepare for the power and water to be shut off: Flashlights 5 gal Water Jugs Fill your bathtub with water (to flush the toilet/rinse) Generator Gasoline Propane cook top Propane Food for up to 2 weeks Prepare the Boat Add extra dock lines TIE DOWN EVERYTHING that can blow away Tie up the sails (or take them down) Take down Bimini Fold down the dodger (if possible) Be prepared for you and your loved ones to get to higher ground. We had our lifevests, as well as the dogs ready (we forgot to mention that in the video). And we had a bag packed with clothes, etc. Hope this helps give you some things to think about if you find yourself in the same situation. Great Barrier and Mercury islands We spend some time at Port Fitzroy on Great Barrier Island doing some local walks. Our Honda generator breaks again, so we clean up its fuel system to get it operating properly. We then head south to the Coromandel coast and beautiful Great Mercury Island. We are greeted by a pod of dolphins and have a very special visitor at Peachgrove Bay. We then continue over to the mainland , to Whitianga, where we pick up a mooring and plan to have a relaxing Easter break. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ☕️ Want to Buy us a Coffee? This is a very musical episode, as I'm joined by my Latin American friends who jut love to sing and dance. La Isla Bonita Love Festival is happening at Marina Tazacorte. Right in the marina! And many of us cruisers and local sailors take full advantage of it. Friends come by to the boat for a pre-party before we going to the concert. And a few days later we go for a day sail to celebrate Gretter's birthday with constant singing and dancing in bathing suits on Galopin. Enough with this maintenance in Marsh Harbour! It’s time to get sailing and set our hopes on Hopetown. This was one of our favorite stops in the Abacos. Many cruisers live here full-time on a ball in the harbor which gives the place a very welcoming, community feel. There are lots of quirky little shops, beautiful flower-lined roads and bike paths, great restaurants and the stunning Hopetown Lighthouse, one of the oldest manual Kerosene-lit lighthouses in the world. Lots of pictures of Hopetown for you all in a fun blog post here -- https://havewindwilltravel.com/2018/06/23/bv17-marsh-harbour-to-hopetown/. Phillip and I were incredibly fortunate to score a ball in the harbor our VERY FIRST night there (some people have waited years for one) and we enjoyed a stunning three-day stay at Hopetown. Enjoy the snorkeling in Marsh Harbour and the sporty sail over to Hopetown, and stay tuned next time for a trip to Little Harbor, a little-known hurricane hole at the south end of the Abacos where we were welcomed by friends who had just built an amazing little bungalow there. Plenty more to come! If you’re more into boat projects, we got plenty going on currently at www.havewindwilltravel.com with our 2018 mini re-fit -- https://havewindwilltravel.com/2018/08/02/shipyard-project-1-reinforcing-our-rudder/. Gotta balance all this play with all kinds of work, but we love it all. Enjoy the posts!

Fulaga, How beautiful you are! Visiting Fulaga (Fulanga) was one of those bucket list places for us. One of those places you have heard about, but almost cant fathom going to yourself. Well we made it. It wasn’t easy beating straight upwind from basically everywhere else in Fiji. It was more than worth it. If you ever have the chance, just GO. Fulaga is an island with a proper pass and a proper lagoon and proper crystal clear blue water and proper mushroom islets dotted everywhere. Fulaga is paradise. We have travelled half way around the world and Fulaga is a unique and beautiful spot. It is one of our favourites. It has no internet, no airport and the cargo ship only visits once a month or so, transporting people and provisions. You could hitch a ride on it but better yet, buy, borrow, steal or rent a yacht and get there yourself. There is a strict adoption policy for yachties. They have an system with about 60-80 boats a year stopping in. We arrived early in the season and were one of the first few boats of the season. Every family in the village adopts a yacht at least once or usually twice a year. Tui, Koro, John and their extended family got stuck with us. And Bill, the chiefs grandson, came along for all our adventures. This was by far the most unique village experience we have had to date. We hit up the kids culture week at school, we hiked with cannibals or perhaps rather the descendants of cannibals. (we are still here to tell the tale). We attended church and had beautiful Sunday lunch. We hosted a pizza feast and were serenaded by the beautiful voices from the most beautiful people as we said our farewells. In this episode we (Ben, my mom and I) take you with us as we meet the beautiful people of Fulanga and tour their beautiful island. But we are not yet done with Fulanga. Up next we will show you the beauty of the ocean up. Don't Miss and Adventure. If there were ever an island in the Eastern Caribbean to get projects done, this is it. Join our Patreon family and become a BIGGER part of the adventure: https://www.patreon.com/mjsailing Subscribe and don't miss out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvJGfEEg7R04-ifkg_FFnaw??sub_confirmation=1 Settled into Simpson Bay in Dutch Sint Maarten, we continue to tackle our weekend of projects. First up is getting Georgie to the vet for some blood work. In order to get her into the E.U. she needs to have a rabies titer test performed, the results have to be sent to the US, and she'll need one more vet appt after that to prove she is healthy enough to travel. Matt starts a project we've been lagging on for way too long now, and begins to shape the PVC which will hold the bolt rope for the fabric part of our dodger. Using some driftwood as a template, we use a heat gun to make the plastic pliable, and then bend it around the wood, holding it there until it cools and keeps its shape. And although we're knocking out our projects left and right, the swells rolling through Simpson Bay make our stay a little less than comfortable. Matt puts a bridle on the anchor so our bow is pointing into the waves, instead of taking them on our side, which would be the case if our bow had been pointing into the wind. Oh, and we also get a new neighbor for the night of Riley and Elayna from Sailing La Vagabonde (no, we did not get the chance to meet up). There was lots for us to do, but this one little island held everything we needed to get them completed. Cheers from Sint Maarten! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. Hi folks - This is EP. 2 Sailing in Tasmania. In this series, we sail for Hobart to collect our daughter who is flying in from South Africa to sail with us. Since we have sailed down the east coast of Tasmania, we decide to opt for a short cut through the Dunelly / Denison Canal, which should be well planned on account of shallows, current, tide and wind. We demonstrate how we planned for this crossing, the obstacles and natural characteristics we were mindful of when planning - and more. We share information also for future sailors wishing to cross through the canal so for viewers not interested in the sailing aspect, these portions of the video may not appeal to you, however, even for those who do not sail, you may find it interesting to note what we as sailors need to consider when sailing in different regions around the world. Denison Canal is cut through the isthmus of the Forestier Peninsula of Tasmania. In 1854, pressure by east coast settlers to improve transport by avoiding the longer, mostly rough voyage around Tasman Peninsula, resulted in Lt-Governor Denison commissioning a study. Tenders were called in 1901, construction began and the canal was opened in 1905. The canal itself is 895 metres long, and 2.42 km including dredged approaches. The width is around 34 metres at ground level reducing to 7 metres wide at low tide. Our catamaran IMPI is 7,7m width, so careful planning is required. Water depth ranges from 2.6 to 3.9 metres according to tide. Originally there was a hand-operated swing bridge that was replaced by an electrically powered bridge in 1965. Although the canal was used by small vessels and east coast traders, the canal is nowadays is restricted to fishing and pleasure craft by shifting sand bars in Blackman Bay making dredging of the canal a necessary ongoing practice. Westerly winds block our passage to Hobart necessitating Impi to 'Fall off' instead for shelter in a quaint and historic region around Taranna, in Little Norfolk Bay. This week we see two boats run aground while we explore Sidney Spit. I try to help refloat one of them and the kids spend a lot of time running around the island exploring the beach and old first nations sites. Jayne (Captain Mom) successfully pilots us through the very narrow Pender Canal without running aground and we witness one of the best sunsets the west coast has to offer. We're having a great time exploring and catching up with old friends and family while back in Vancouver. But I'm really starting to miss Family Circus and am looking forward to getting back to her in four weeks! The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we decided to buy "Family Circus", planned to sail her to New Zealand and started an adventure that changed our lives. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe-5...
