Sveti Stefan Day Trip We travel to the beautiful Sveti Stefan from Kotor where we walk the charming streets. We follow the path along a cliff and explore the surrounding beaches. Trace and I find a spot on the beach beside Sveti Stefan and enjoy the view and water. The main beach is extremely crowded most likely due to the surrounding beaches charging minimum 75 euro for a sun bed. We find a cosy little garden restaurant where we enjoy a Pizza and some beers before we conclude our day trip and head back to Kotor. Hiking from Kotor to Lovcen After walking the 'Ladder of Kotor' we continue the hike to Lovcen National Park. It's a 10 hour hike from Kotor travelling 40km's up and back. There is amazing scenery as we wind up the mountain on route to Lovcen National Park. Once reaching the second highest peak Jezerski Vrh we explore Njegos Mausoleum. The views are breathtaking from the viewing platform. We decide to have a beer (or two) in one of the local restaurants before walking the 20km's back down. We again meet up with mountain goats who are very inquisitive and friendly. We arrive home and are glad we completed the hike but so ready for resting. Castle of San Giovanni This castle overlooks Kotor and is a must. We enjoy a wine and watch the sun go down over the mountains before following the lit castle steps down. Music 1. We set our sights on The Human Rights museum as we had heard about this back in the US. It is a stunning building and architecturally astounding. There is enough information packed in this museum to take days to get through. It boasts impressive interactive exhibits. This museum is a must see. A short walk from the museum is the infamous “dick” bridge. It is a lovely bridge if I do say so myself, but there is a very phallic beam as the centerpoint. Either way it is fun to look at and talk about all the shapes that it looks like. This bridge spans the Red River. It was a big hub for trading in the late 1800’s. Today it has pontoon boat tours (fenders out of course) and will host a Dragon Boat race in early September. As we sat in the warmth of the late afternoon at The Forks overlooking the river, we got to watch the Dragon Boat practice. Very intimidating sport from what I saw. Needless to say, when you are downtown, put the max amount of time in the parking meter so it doesn’t interrupt your sightseeing. Also, take some selfies in front of the Giant Winnipeg sign in the park near The Human Rights Museum, it is just plain fun! This is The Boat Life. Nic Morganti and Melissa Auman are moving onto a sailboat. The plan was sell everything, buy a boat, live on a boat, and travel and explore the Caribbean and the world while living aboard! The uniform is boardshorts and bikinis. Simple plan, but lots to learn and do along the way. Sailing a 700nm passage West, we decide to cross the equator, NAKED of course! https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, after visiting the local market in Jayapura and enjoying the street food of Indonesia, it was time to head back to sea and continue our journey West to the Indonesian province of Raja Ampat. The 700nm passage to Sorong took us close to the equator and since we were so close we thought, lets cross the damn thing! We sail off course and head North crossing the equator naked then are greeted by a monster squall. We have a quick party and offer our sacrifice to King Neptune before setting some sails again and sailing south in the strong winds and heavy rain! We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We just arrived to Indonesia after cruising the Pacific islands. We departed Australia 12 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, met some amazing people and experienced cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of no where, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! We pay a visit to the hospital to stitch Riley back up after he fell down a hatch, immediately after running our boat aground. The Turks and Caicos is considered world class diving and now Riley isn't allowed to swim for at least a week. It's going to kill the poor boy.
