In 2013 we took our family from Southern California to the Philippines to give our kids an exposure to volunteer work and to gain an appreciation for Philippine culture. My husband and I grew up in the Philippines and we wanted to show our kids the country that we love. In this episode... you will see us travel by plane through China, Manila and finally to Boracay Island. Along with our friends, you will see us visit an Ati Village on northern Panay Island, play with shy grass, meet a carabao, and play with the village kids. The Boat Life http://bit.ly/HelpFundMoreVideos or buy yourself a shirt http://www.TheBoat.Life/shop Poutine is a part of Canadian culture. As a farewell to our friends and Canada we end our Canadian experience with home made Poutine. This was a DIY poutine experiment. We used Manitoba's award winning cheese curds, Squeakers. They were delicious! It is hard not to be with gravy cheese curds and french fries. Bam! like Emeril Lagasse up in here! It has been a wonderful time visiting our neighbors to the North. learning about there history and culture and boating on a fresh water lake. Lake of the Woods. Thanks you to our friends for hosting us as we travel. We will head back south to our sailboat soon. We now feel half Canadian for sure. This is The Boat Life. Nic Morganti and Melissa Auman are moving onto a sailboat. The plan was sell everything, buy a boat, live on a boat, and travel and explore the Caribbean and the world while living aboard! The uniform is boardshorts and bikinis. Simple plan, but lots to learn and do along the way. Join our adventure as we sail away on sv Dodi, our Island Packet IP27, live on a sailboat, and explore life aboard. This is our sailing travel vlog The Boat Life. its like van life, but in a sailboat, oh and on the water. Thanks for watching! Want to see more videos. Josh carefully avoids getting arrested in Malta. Our kids jump into a small sailing boat club and kill it. Things get fixed and other things get broken as we continue a month of full on sailing. But this time hit our biggest crossing from Greece to Malta has it's challenges! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

Contemporary style lines, creative interior spaces, tremendous interior volume, and flexible cruising speeds – these are the core features of the Horizon FD85 fast displacement motoryacht. The FD85’s exterior and interior layouts were designed to take full advantage the volume provided by her 23 feet 3 inch (7.07M) beam, with separate areas for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. A total of five en suite guest staterooms are on board – a full-beam, on-deck master stateroom and four guest staterooms below deck – as well as crew quarters just forward of the engine room. Featuring Horizon’s new High Performance Piercing Bow (HPPB), the FD85 is a truly advanced, mid-range motoryacht that incorporates cutting-edge design with functional living and entertaining spaces. Springing from the eye-catching FD85, the new Horizon FD87 Skyline retains many of the FD85’s unique features, including the expansive 23 feet 3 inch (7.08M) beam, spacious on-deck Master with four guest staterooms and two crew cabins below deck, and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows in the salon. In place of the raised pilothouse in the FD85, the FD87 Skyline boasts a fully enclosed bridge with walkaround design creating an easy access between boat deck and forward seating areas on the port side. The FD87 Skyline also features a spacious beach club and swim platform aft, which provides a perfect spot for relaxing close to the water or enjoying watersports activities. Additionally, the FD87 offers a new bow designed called the “High Performance Piercing Bow” (HPPB), which saw across-the-board hydrodynamic improvements in both tank and CFD testing. While alternative bow designs that feature protrusions work more efficiently at either high or slower speeds, the HPPB brings both efficiency at slower speeds and performance at higher speeds. I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

Now that all of our chores in St. Martin are done, it's time to head back to St. Barth's and have A LOT of fun. Arriving a few days after their annual regatta begins, the Voiles de St. Barth, we actually find ourselves sailing into Gustavia mid-race! And not knowing what the course is, we find ourselves right in the middle of the action! Even if the ride to get there was a little bumpy and at some times hair raising because of all the boats finishing the course next to us, we were completely rewarded later that night at the festivities. A surprise concert by Jimmy Buffet! And, while trying to sneak toward the stage with my camera, I actually get pulled up there for the best seat in the house! The remainder of the race week held a few more activities for us, like getting the chance to wander parts of the island and shoot a few photos for one of the companies we're an ambassador for, Code Zero Sportswear. Not only do we get to sport some of their stylish gear for the event, but while going out to meet the founder, we even chill at the very posh Nikki Beach for a few cocktails. Race weeks ends with some great live music, brilliant fireworks over the harbour, and a toast of Prosecco with old friends and new. Absolutely one of our best weeks in the Caribbean. This week on Family Circus we help rescue a kitty who was literally stuck in a tree. We drive to Penticton to visit Sayo’s sister Rain and her partner Jordy and get to climb their AWESOME indoor rock wall! Aya nailed her first route up, I got to lay my own route and Miya had a blast playing with Siku, the Husky. And we all have a ton of fun and laughs when Aya cast Sayo and Rain in her very own interpretation of the musical movie the Greatest Showman. The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we decided to buy "Family Circus", planned to sail her to New Zealand and started an adventure that has changed our lives. To get the fastest speed we need the shape the sail for the best airflow. Because of the effects of apparent wind and the change wind speed with altitude the apparent wind direction changes with height above the water. In this video I show how to safely adjust the Jib or genoa sheet traveler (Fairlead) and how to use a series of telltales to know when the sail twist is correct. This is the first video in a series on sail trim for speed. Join the crew at https://www.patreon.com/captainlang

Windcraft Yachts, the distributors in Australia and New Zealand for Hanse, Dehler, Solaris and Moody yachts were on hand at Hamilton Island Race Week to provide support for their owners competing at the Regatta. Hamilton Island Race Week was the first regatta for the new Solaris 47, Vamos, and Bow Caddy was lucky enough to be on board to shoot the action. Thanks also to Miss Minx and avventura for allowing us to put cameras on their yachts. Sunshine and warm weather was the constant feature of the week with winds varying between 25 knots and none, luckily the latter was on the lay day. A great time was had by all competitors from the IRC classes down to the cruising classes.

Flying from Kota Kinabalu (KK) to Sandakan is easy, fast and inexpensive. This tour was very well organized by Mr Lai of Sandakan Hotspot Eco-Tours. Leaving from KK early morning on day 1, I was met as well as other tourists at Sandakan airport by Hadi, our professional and agreeable tour-guide. After a quick breakfast at a local cafe, we arrived at the Sepilok Orang-Utan Reahabilitation Center, one of only 4 such centers in the world. You get to see orang-utans coming at feeding time on their free will as they are free in nature. You also get to see the newly rescued orang-utans getting some training to be able to survive later in the wild. After a great visit there, we had a nice buffet lunch at a local restaurant and our comfortable A/C bus took us to the Gomantong Caves. We were very fortunate to visit during the 6 weeks a year when bird nests collectors are at work. It gave an extra interest to this huge cathedral-type of cave. Then, we drove to the Sungai Kinabatangan, Sabah's longest river. After checking-in at Borneo Natural Bilit Sukau Resort where I was quite surprised at how nice the bungalows were: I did not need the A/C as the cool temperature and fans where just right. Nice traditional style but clean and spacious. Rooms with personality! After a quick snack, we went for a late afternoon river cruise to spot many types of birds, proboscis monkeys, macaques, and perhaps crocodiles and pygmy elephants. You realize then that your eyes are much better than your camera at distinguishing the creatures often far away and in the shade! After this 2h1/2 hour trip we came back at the resort for a buffet dinner with the many other tourists (most backpackers-type) that came for a day tour or overnight like I did. Shortly after dinner, we were invited to join a night walk around the property to see some animals sleeping like insects and birds. After a great night of sleep, I got up early again, this time to go to a 6am river tour, giving us more chance to see the wild animals clinging to the jungle bordering the river with infamous palm oil trees fields beyond! I let you watch the video to see what animals we did see … After a breakfast on our river tour return, a big bus took a lot of us to diverse destinations, sometimes to connect with other buses. Back at Sandakan airport mid-day, I was back in KK by 4pm on day2. A busy but really fun 2-day tour! I recommend and thank Mr Lai of Sandakan Hotspot Eco-Tours for his support and our great guide, Hadi. Filmed in August 2018.
