Danielle and I were going to go explore a more beachy location, but with spring break in full swing, plans change. There were 2 million more people in Tampa for spring break than last year, but there was plenty of room and parking at this park. Before the rest of the volunteers arrive, we have to get the huge timbers of the Stern Assembly bedded and fastened into the stern of Tally Ho. First we drill the holes for the bolts, using a 6’ long drill bit in a custom-made jig. Then we lift all the pieces with jacks and ropes, and fill the gaps with Tar and Felt. When they are back in place, the bronze bolts are driven through and tightened up, and lo and behold – the Stern Assembly is ready to accept new Frames, just in the nick of time! The last weeks have been especially hectic, so this video is a little shorter than usual, and hasn’t covered all the amazing work that Arnaud, Finn, Thom, Kirt and Tim have been doing to prepare for our intensive Frame-raising period, which is just beginning! Our engine room has gone form a Oily Greasy mess to a shiny bright white! https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, Nandji is high and dry in the boat yard. With a looong list of jobs we plan to complete whilst on the hard stand, we are busy in renovating our engine room ready to install our new Yanmar "Fang." We have been lucky to have a fellow Salty sailor wish to help us install the new engine, Uncle Kevin is also a guru fibreglasser after glassing surfboards professionally for over 30 years. This man knows a thing or two about fibreglassing and he takes us through the types of matting we use to reinforce the bearers ready for the new engine mounts to bolt on too. After two weeks on the hard stand our engine room has gone form a oily greasy mess from our old engine to a glistening white solid room ready for our new motor! We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We have just sailed 2000nm through Indonesia and have arrived to Malaysia to complete major boat work, ready for the next big adventure. We departed Australia 18 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, met some beautiful people and experienced different cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! I would argue that it isn’t strictly clickbait, that is more like showing a womans bottom and making a video mostly about changing a car tyre. This is more like when you catch a fish and tell people it was bigger than it was. And so but I am mindful of all the old sailors out there whos bad weather experiences on the water would be diminished by some punk running around with misleading titles on his youtube channel and so this description will serve as both an apology to any people affected and will also be for “the record” whomever is keeping that. Back to the boat upgrades and weather stuff next time, but while we hide out from crazy winds in Pipe Creek in the Exumas, it got me thinking about a question we get from just about every non-sailor when they find out we cruise full time on a little boat: have you ever been in a storm? Monastir, antica città tunisina ad un paio di ore d'auto da Tunisi. Il porto turistico, molto ben organizzato, è nel centro della città, come a Palermo o a Salerno. E a poche centinaia di metri dal marina, c'è la medica e il pittoresco mercato municipale. E poi fanno un buon pollo al curry. Nel viaggio di ritorno verso Hammamet, ne ho approfittato per dare un'occhiata al porticciolo turistico, molto turistico di El Kantaoui.

El problema de las energías renovables es que la naturaleza no nos las entrega cuando nosotros las queremos consumir. Por ello es necesario diseñar sistemas de acumulación energética. En Gorona del viento utilizan la energía hidráulica como vector energético, bombean agua de una balsa inferior a otra superior cuando la producción es superior a la demanda, y turbinan el agua de la balsa superior a la inferior ciando la energía del viento no cubre la demanda. Además la hidráulica sirve como regulación en los picos de bajada de producción eólica. ¡Enhorabuena por este gran y precioso proyecto!

This week we take you along to one of our favorite Florida Waterfront Property locations. This was just north of the Burnt Store Marina in a small area called Pirates Cove. Sadly it doesn't look like the depth will work for us, but we sure loved the layout of this house. We also take you along with us on a Glass bottom Kayak trip in the mangroves off of Tampa Bay. This was a great time and Deb and I and the kids all had a blast. They company we rented them from also does night tours and the boats have LED's that light up the water, which would be really cool. The water was murky from weather and the tour company called us ahead of time to let us know in the event that we wanted to postpone until there was better visibility. We kept our time slot and date due to our schedule and while we weren't able to see as much down below as we would have if the water was clear, the tour was still great and it was just us on a private tour. We return to the boat to get settled in on board. We packed up the camper and prepared it for storage for the next 6 weeks. Deb started to organize while I continued working on the insulation in the ceilings of the berths in preparation for the new overheads that still need to be done. We’re back on board and at first glance all looks good, but as ever things aren’t always as they seem! Having said that, nothing can compare to the terrible season we had last year. Kejstral now has an almost new gearbox expertly rebuilt & fitted by the boys in Leros marina, so now it’s time to compliment that by giving the Yanmar 3YM30 a good service. All goes really smoothly until we realise the impeller seal is leaking along with the seawater strainer! Fitting a new Jabsco Joker valve comes next, but is overshadowed by the leaking plunger that now needs to be replaced! All these things come to try us, but a well stocked chandlers makes the job a lot easier. This episode is in two parts! Join me in the middle of the Atlantic as I work to remove & replace the delaminated mainsail on an Open 60 on my own. Mainsail rigging is normally done alongside the dock on this kind of boat and with extra assistance on hand as these mainsails are extremely heavy & cumbersome to move alone. However when push comes to shove the solo sailor must always complete any and all work the boat presents- so here I go! To make things easier I position the boat in a patch of light airs but that means also that the race is on to get the new main up before stronger winds return!
