Is this some of the best footage we have made? As always we tell it how it is and in Fethiye and Marmaris we were literally bobbing around in raw sewage just yards from the swimming beaches. We are paying 400TL to be pumped out and yet we have never in 4 years seen a commercial vessel get pumped out. But we have seen a lot empty their tanks very close to us in secluded bays. Or just outside them.... Tersan island becomes an anchorage that untenable. We and two other boat have to do a quick exit to better holding. Then there is the best lightning show ever and and wild boar wandering along the beach... What a cracking episode if we say so ourselves! Let us know what you think in the comments. Volvo Saildrive 130s We change the gator. Blocked it was it was almost by Shells! . An Easy Boat job? In this video we have help from the UK to strip out the entire saildrive for a gator change. The worst I’ve been in is mid 40 knots offshore which in the grand scheme of things is not a very big deal and that was extremely uncomfortable and scary But to imagine the fury of the ocean Tropical storm or even hurricane force conditions at sea is beyond comprehension. The winters here is mild, Turkey is renown for having skilled labor at reasonable prices, its outside of the Schengen region so we can recharge our Schengen Visas, but more than anything we’ve been told by several other sailors that Turkey is their favorite country in the Med. It’s such a unique place considered a transcontinental country, not quite a part of Europe, and not quite a part of Asia. And that’s exactly how the culture feels, it’s a blend of two extremely different places. Turkey is one of the most secular muslim majority countries in the world. It’s now home to two of the seven wonders of the ancient world. And for centuries, the Ottoman Empire was the preeminent power in the Mediterranean.
