Re-upholstering Interior Sailboat Cushions for Less than Beer - We are redoing our interior cushions for less than the coast of 2 cartons of beer. Why are we re-doing the cushions? The cushions we had we in good shape, nothing wrong with the material and no holds, however they are from 2004 and when we sit down you can feel the wooden board below you and it was not comfortable - not comfortable at all. Some of what we are doing is a bit out of the ordinary... for starters instead of buying new foam we are repurposing foam we already have onboard from our 'day beds' and cutting it up to double up the thickness of the seat cushions. We are the James Family, we purchased an unfinished aluminium catamaran and are fixing her up as we sail around the world.
