I thought it would be nice to let mother nature do the talking in this one. After almost 3 months in Tasmania, I had the opportunity to visit Maria Island. I caught the ferry across on a Sunday morning and it didn’t take long for us to arrive at this rugged, beautiful island. The next day and a half was spent exploring as much of the island as I could, from the ferry port to the southern most accessible point at Haunted Bay via historical sites and quiet beaches. Cyclone Kirrily is approaching the coast and headed straight for Townsville, where we are. With predictions showing it will be heading straight for us we are getting Emma ready...again. With the imminent cyclone strike we are being evacuated off our boats and all personnel need to leave the marina. The day of the strike, Kirrily kicked up a bit more and went from a Category 2 to a categoy 3 cyclone. We watch the boats and the marina from our hotel room and the next morning head down to see what the damage is. We are the James Family, we purchased an unfinished aluminium catamaran and are fixing her up as we sail around the world.
