When Windy Boats and Hans Jorgen Johnsen joined forces with the world renowned yacht designer Ed Dubois the result was always going to be something really special. So the Dubois SR52 Blackbird was born....a breathtaking, stunning and quite exceptional 16.10 metre super tender that took the 2010 Cannes International Boat Show by storm. Developed at Windy Boats Hi Tec production facility at Vastervick, Sweden, the latest techniques in vacuum injection moulding were used to produce a significantly stronger yet lighter, fuel efficient, high performance hull. A triple Volvo IPS 600 was chosen with the mid engine located forward of the port and starboard units to improve the balance, smoothness of the drive train and to increase performance. With a top speed of 46 knots and cruising speed of 40 knots the SR52 Blackbird delivers a range of 450-480 miles, delivering its passengers ashore in uprecedented style, speed and comfort. Both helmsman and passengers will love the onboard experience. The skipper will be excited by the exceptional dash, location and quality of instruments, controls, helm and, in particular, directional stability of the ultra soft level riding hull. He or she and their passengers will feel secure in the three separate racing chairs at the helm and the three standing sports chairs, all under the shade of the striking matching black bimini. The 4.5 metre beam means there's plenty of space for additional seating, a sunlounger and a hydraulic bathing ladder. The walk round teak deck also features a raised foredeck and additional seating. When the advanced anchor system, which is cleverly hidden from sight when not in use, is employed at that special bay, the SR52 quickly transforms into the perfect lunching, sunbathing, diving or swimming platform. As a new generation Super Tender, the SR52 Blackbird is designed to follow it's much larger mother ship in safety and comfort so below decks a double berth and sepeate show and heads are installed. The Dubois SR52 Blackbird is guaranteed to turn heads wherever she goes and is surely one of the most exciting launches of the decade.

The first stop on our Royal Caribbean Cruise is the private peninsula in Labadee, Haiti. First we tour the island then My son and I take to the high seeas on a waverunner tour. Some of the video is a bit choppy because we strapped the camera to my arm.

We managed to drive down an old road about a mile, but because it was 108 degrees, we were only able to hike about a mile further on foot. We noted this cloud formation that appeared to emanate from close to the ground and spread upwards.
