Motore 2 tempi, 4 tempi, diesel o elettrico: quale conviene acquistare? The new Motor Boat Marex 360 CC seen at Palm Beach International Boat Show 2025 By Bill Hackett Palm Beach (FL) The Boat Show 2025
The best way to close an exceptional boat show in Annapolis is with an equally exception sail aboard the Alubat Ovni 370. We just finished our first Annapolis Sailboat Show and we couldn't be more thrilled about the reception to the new Alubat Ovni 370. We also had our first impromptu owner rendezvous with new Ovni owners sailing aboard Kevin's 370 'Jacky C' - many thanks to Kevin who was generous with sharing his knowledge and experience with us. We'll be back in Annapolis in the fall and look forward to meeting you there.

Sensible design around the cockpit which allows guests to enjoy the sail without having to participate in the sailing. While she is called the 46 LC for Long Cruise this is a refined, fast and elegant yacht that would hold her own in the cruising division of any regatta. If you want a serious cruising yacht with all the modern comforts plus decent fuel capacity giving you options then this yacht is it. But she is also a wonderful sail boat and a pleasure to sail both off the breeze and upwind. The Grand Soleil 46LC is a potential dream boat for many people in my opinion, and in this video Andrew and I discover the sailing abilities along with a deep dive into the interior layout and features of this Italian masterpiece. This won't suit everyone because she's in the higher price and quality range but if you have a big dream then this could very well be it. Enjoy. In Episode 62 of the Sailing Goat Series, we continue our journey toward the Corinth Canal by sailing from Petalas to the island of Trizonia—the halfway point to the canal’s entrance. This leg of the passage offers everything from peaceful breezes to wild, gale-force winds. We begin the sail under ideal conditions: a steady 15-knot tailwind and light swell make for a calm and easy ride—until we pass beneath the iconic Rion-Antirion Bridge near Patras. That’s when everything changes. On the other side of the bridge, we get hit by violent catabatic winds, rapidly shifting angles and ramping up in strength. Within minutes, we’re facing 35 knots, with gusts pushing toward gale force (45+ knots). We quickly reduce sail and make a dash for the shelter of Trizonia Island, just in time to avoid the worst of the blow. 🌉 Sailing Under the Rion-Antirion Bridge: Sailing beneath one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world is awe-inspiring. This calm stretch of the journey lulls us into a false sense of ease before the chaos hits. 💨 Catabatic Winds Strike: As soon as we pass the bridge, the weather turns. Powerful down-slope catabatic winds kick in, changing direction constantly and pushing us hard. It’s a fast shift from smooth to survival mode. ⛵ Quick Reefing & Smart Sailing: We reduce sail just in time and navigate toward Trizonia, where the island's protection shields us from the worsening conditions. 🏝️ Safe in Trizonia: We drop anchor safely before the winds reach full gale-force, proving once again that timing and quick decisions are everything in sailing. 💬 Join the Conversation: Have you ever experienced a sudden catabatic wind or sailed under the Rion Bridge? Share your stories and tips in the comments—we’d love to hear from you! 👍 If you enjoy the thrill of weather shifts, tight calls, and iconic sailing routes, give this video a thumbs up, share it with fellow sailors, and subscribe to the Sailing Goat Series for more! 🔗 Connect with Sailing Goat: Instagram: @nobodysride Instagram: @sailing_svgoat 📌 Hashtags: #SailingGoat #RionBridge #CatabaticWinds #SailingTrizonia #GaleForceWinds #CorinthianGulf #SailingGreece #LifeAtSea ⛵ Join us as we sail under engineering marvels, outpace dangerous winds, and discover safe harbor in the nick of time. Fair winds and following seas await!

Salon Windows & Fire Damage Replaced Now that the engine is out from the hurricane and we await the new engine, we start to tackle some of the large projects that will need to be done prior to leaving the dock for safety reasons. Today we are finally able to start to work on replacing all 9 of the salon windows so we can see out and remove the ones from the fire we had onboard and stop the cracking and water leaks when it rains. Whirlwind of a week! Getting hit by a fishing boat again, then nationwide power outage wasn't in the plan... but hey that's boat life, nothing really goes to plan! One half of us is in Portugal on our new boat, trying to get things organised so we can push off the wall and get out sailing again. The other half of us is in the Caribbean on our old boat, getting some last minute boat work sorted, then on to Canada. ___________________________ Our prior boat - If you are interested in buying our previous boat, Supernova, a beautiful fully kitted out Prout Quasar 50, please send us an email at: sailingsupernova@gmail.com Supernova has tons of upgrades. 4kw solar, 2600 AH of lifpo4 lithium batteries. Full electric galley, watermaker, 2 years new electronics including auto pilot, radar and 16 inch chartplotter. Custom dinghy lift where you can leave the engine on (comes with 10.5 rib with almost new 20hp motor), new mainsail and jib, 14 foot by 7 foot custom hard top, dive compressor, two electric toilets with 2x 100 litre blackwater tank, put in 3 new fridge/freezer units, new prop shafts, 8 new underwater lights. We took the bottom down to gel-coat and put 6 layers of barrier coat on before new bottom paint (that was 3 years ago) and we replaced every through hull. We installed two new prop shafts and aquadrives. It has 4 staterooms, one oversized queen bed, one queen bed and to double beds with 4 heads but we are using 2 heads as just storage. You can live remote on this boat for months and months without needing to resupply (3 fridge/freezers, crazy amount of solar and giant lithium batteries etc). It still needs some cosmetic work inside and a couple of things here and there, but could cross oceans right now as is. We love this boat but we are aware we aren't going to get back anywhere near the money we put into her. If you're interested, let us know... we are very open to discuss any reasonable offers. ⚓️ Subscribe for more real-life real-time sailing adventures! 👍 Like the video if you love sailing! We arrive in stunning St. Kitts after a night sail from Barbuda. With the sun just rising, we drop anchor and begin exploring this lush, mountainous island. From sipping fresh coconuts in the jungle (with some curious pigs nearby!) to rum tasting and scenic hikes, St. Kitts doesn't disappoint. Then it's off to Nevis, where we anchor near Sunshine Bar, enjoy beach games, paddle ball with locals, and a killer sunset. A highlight of the trip? A magical evening at the Banana Restaurant—hidden in the jungle with incredible views and unforgettable food! Plus, we give a peek into what homeschooling three teens looks like on a sailboat. From botany lessons in the wild to trigonometry, economics, Spanish, and more—learning on the water is an adventure all its own.
The Hanse 460 could be one of the most interesting cruising yachts on the market today. She's got an incredible interior layout that would even please those stepping across from a motor yacht. However the real excitement is on deck with the huge cockpit that can be fully protected from the sun and wind which transforms the experience available to those on deck into a much mure comfortable day out - true luxury sailing in my opinion. ASK ANDREW - Got a question - Minnect Andrew https://app.minnect.com/expert/AndrewParkes This design has so many great ideas incorporated into her 46ft that I think it's going to be hard for the French builders to compete with this model unless it's just on price, which is funny because this was actually designed by a Frenchman. This is a really intersting yacht for anyone looking to cruise or long weekend in comfort. She'll even be ok for some more serious offshore work should you have that in mind too. I hope you enjoy this as much as Andrew and I did. Traditional skills in boatbuilding could be regarded as a lost art from a bygone era. In the world of fibreglass and carbon, the joinery and laminating techniques of wood ribs and cedar strips are a thing of the past. But a visit to Ipswich Haven Marina, and the Spirit Yachts yard, shows this is far from the case, and the masterpieces that roll out to be launched show that the skills and craft needed are very much alive and kicking. Spirit Yachts are literally keeping the spirit of traditional boatbuilding alive, crafting semi-custom yachts for clients who want something different and beautiful. These timeless lines catch the admiring eye of fellow sailors and passers-by on the dock. Not everything about a Spirit Yacht is the same as a yacht built in the 1930s. The hull lines under the water are modern, and the keel is fin and bulb, as opposed to the long keels found a hundred years ago with the rudder attached at the aft end. Modern laminating techniques mean fewer ribs, CNC machining makes for more accurate cuts, tongue & groove strip planking, and computer software, combined with the skill of the team, makes for far less wastage. The laminated ribs, when laid out on the 1:1 drawings, are works of art in themselves. Tens of clamps hold them in place as the resin dries and the resulting curves are perfect. Building in this method removes the need for a mould which you’d see with a fibreglass or carbon yacht. All boatbuilders are looking to manufacture in a more responsible manner, and Spirit Yachts regard this as a continuous process. With the strength being derived from the wood itself, they are in the perfect position to utilise flax-based composites, and their third R30 in build is wrapped in flax and bioresin instead of the traditional fibreglass shell. Early signs are excellent that this approach is practical. The team is continually looking at every step of the process to save on wastage and use more responsible materials. Mixing pots for resin are cleaned and reused rather than just thrown away, vacuum bagging is partially done using products made of recycled materials - it’s not yet possible in all applications, but they’re working with their suppliers to try and change this. Even the workforce’s lunch is provided with end of shelf life food, avoiding wastage there. It’s no surprise that potential clients approach Spirit Yachts when they want something out of the ordinary commissioned, and one of the yachts under construction at Spirit is a Q class, which will look almost identical to an existing yacht the owner has, but with a few modern refinements, such as reducing the number of ribs and the use of epoxy resins. Classic powerboats are also crafted at Spirit Yachts, and the P40 in for modifications has seen a number of changes over her lifetime. Refit is also a service Spirit undertakes for their owners, keeping their yacht in top condition while also making any changes needed. Finding a sustainable deck material is also an ongoing quest for Spirit Yachts and the industry as a whole. Adrian Gooderham, Spirit Yachts Yard Manager, and the team have been trialling various woods and are collaborating with other yacht builders to test different materials. Also in build is a new powerboat, the P50, with the first hull and deck designed for outside living in the Mediterranean. Thanks to Spirit’s modular design and use of natural materials, a commission has been made for a second P50, this time for colder climes, with an enclosed cockpit. This modular design allows the furniture and cabinets to be made off the hull, and then combined during the build process, resulting in a more efficient workflow and allowing the master carpenters to truly show their skill. Spirit Yachts combine the aesthetic and beauty of yesteryear with modern technology and techniques of today to produce some of the finest yachts you’ll see on the water. A Spirit is as much a work of art as a functional, practical and enjoyable yacht. Next time you’re at a marina, out on the water, or competing in a sailing event, take a look for their distinctive logo on the sail and spend a while just to admire. #classicyacht #boatbuilding #carpentry

We're truly thrilled to be wrapping up this challenging chapter - our second haul out of our steel Adams 35 during peak wet season! Amidst the spontaneous showers, we've persevered through the boatwork with our eyes and hearts set on the horizon. It's been a testing time for us, having much to do and little means to do it (weather not-permitting) 🤪 But with help from our friends and a whole year of cruising to look forward to, we're doing the best with what we've got, hoping that Innerbloom wears this botched anti-foul job as best as she can! We’re a little behind on our videos - we’re just having too much fun! So to connect with us in real time, you can find us on our new FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551024568844 For ad-free and early release episodes, behind the scenes content and live updates, check out our Patreon! Our new boat was towed into port If they had this part they could have fixed it Also Darcy goes on a trip back to supernova ___________________________ Our prior boat - If you are interested in buying our previous boat, Supernova, a beautiful fully kitted out Prout Quasar 50, please send us an email at: sailingsupernova@gmail.com Supernova has tons of upgrades. In Episode 61 of the Sailing Goat Series, it’s all about family, food, and fishing! We sail from Meganisi to Nidri to welcome the blonde’s parents, who came to visit us in Greece—bringing with them a boatload of Italian food (literally!). From pasta and olive oil to cheese and wine, our galley has never looked better. Due to some bad weather on the first day, the blonde stays at a nearby campground with her parents, while I hold down the fort on the boat to keep things safe. Two days later, they all come aboard, and we spend a beautiful five days sailing, fishing, and enjoying life at sea, despite some variable weather conditions. After saying goodbye to her parents, we raise the sails once again and set course south toward the Corinthian Canal. Our next leg takes us from Nidri to Petalas, carried by a perfect 20-knot following breeze, making for a smooth and satisfying sail. 🍝 Italian Food Galore: The blonde’s parents arrive—and they don’t come empty-handed. Our galley is now packed with Italian goodies that will keep us smiling for weeks. ⛵ Family Time Onboard: After a few days on land, her parents join us for five days of relaxing sailing, fishing fun, and onboard meals, soaking up the cruising lifestyle. 🌬️ Solo Storm Watch: With rough weather in the forecast, we play it safe—she goes ashore, and I stay aboard to keep the boat safe at anchor. 🧭 Southbound to the Corinth Canal: With goodbyes said, we set sail again—heading south from Nidri to Petalas with 20 knots on our back. Smooth, fast, and just the way we like it. 💬 Join the Conversation: Ever hosted family on your boat? Or had to solo-watch through bad weather? Drop your stories in the comments—we’d love to hear how you handle cruising with visitors! 👍 If you enjoy real sailing stories, family visits, and the beauty of cruising life, give this video a thumbs up, share it with fellow sailors, and subscribe to the Sailing Goat Series for more! 🔗 Connect with Sailing Goat: Instagram: @nobodysride Instagram: @sailing_svgoat 📌 Hashtags: #SailingGoat #FamilyOnBoard #SailingGreece #NidriToPetalas #FishingAndSailing #CruisingLife #CorinthCanalJourney #LifeAtSea ⛵ Join us as we mix family visits, good food, unpredictable weather, and sweet downwind sailing—all part of the adventure aboard SV GOAT.
