In this episode, we set sail across the Whitsunday passage to Hook island to check out some inlets. We hide away from some bad weather in a beautiful little anchorage called Nara inlet. We take the tender out to explore the inlet a little deeper and seek out a waterfall. The weather passes and we set sail out to the Great Barrier Reef. We had some terrible weather followed by some beautiful sunny skys, making for some interesting and boring times on board! A gennaker is used when sailing downwind as it's a cross between a genoa and a spinnaker (big colored sails). A gennaker is not symmetric like a spinnaker but is asymmetric like a genoa, but the gennaker is not attached to the forestay like a jib or genoa. The gennaker is rigged like a spinnaker but the tack is fastened to the hull. In this video, I demonstrate how we raise, fly, and lower the gennaker on our 56' Oyster sailboat. Over fifty largest players from the sector of international luxury as well as premium products and services presented themselves during the 3rd edition of the Pomorskie Rendez-Vous exhibition organized last weekend in the centre of Gdańsk by the Sunreef Yachts shipyard. More than 800 guests from Poland and abroad, including well-known personages from the world of business, art, culture and enthusiasts of the most exquisite products and widely understood “dolce vita” came to the closed event whose area occupied over 4 000 m2. The initiative - Pomorskie Rendez-Vous originated in 2013 after return of President of the Sunreef Yachts shipyard - Francis Lapp from Hainan, a Chinese island, where for years an event from the “hi-ended” luxury area has been organized, combining the world of yachting with global exclusive brands. While observing the local market and increase in demand for sublime and personalized goods of the best quality, Francis Lapp stated then that Poles were ready for such an event and it was necessary to commence a cycle of similar events in our country. As a leader in production of luxury catamarans of the “custom made” type - the Sunreef Yachts company from Gdańsk became a liaison of meetings from the luxury sector in Poland. In June 2013 the first Pomorski Rendez Vous, which was accompanied by seven partners, was organized. In 2014 the second event was held with the participation of twenty-one brands. After a two-year break, Sunreef Yachts decided to continue the idea of the meetings and invite more than fifty carefully selected partners and patrons to cooperation. Presentation of multidimensional luxury reflected in different spheres of life and promotion of goods of perfect quality, innovative, with rich history in background, created with passion and love of perfection are the superior objectives set by organizers of the Pomorski Rendez Vous. The Pomorski Rendez Vous is also an ideal platform for exchange of experience between companies representing the business sector addressed to the same client. During this year’s, third edition of the Pomorskie Rendez Vous organizers spared no efforts to make guests experience luxury by means of all senses, not only of sight, but also of hearing, touch, taste and smell. The event started at 5:00PM and lasted until late evening hours. Presentations of products and services during the exhibition were completed by artistic performances of stars including a concert of Anna Maria Jopek with her band and Gosia Banka in the repertoire of Halina Poświatowska invited by one of the Partners - Yamaha company. At a special invitation of President of the Sunreef Yachts shipyard - Francis Lapp, dancers from the Paris revue conducted by Aleksandra Kędzierska Fontaine and outstanding French singer Nathalie Cohen appeared on the main stage of the event. Also a show of the latest collection Autumn - Winter 2016 - 2017 of the La Mania Fashion House managed by Joanna Przetakiewicz made an impression on guests. Taste qualities were ensured e.g. by Gaggenau company at the stand of which chef Witek Iwański performed a “live cooking” show. Whereas, Invest Komfort, a property developer, organized cruises to its apartment investment on the Motława. Guests did not run out of alcohols, including G.H. MUMM champagne bubbles from Pernod Ricard company. The car industry i.e. Mercedes BMG Goworowski, Audi, JLR - Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Porsche - Sopot, Lexus showed the latest models of cars. Recently launched catamarans: sailing Sunreef Supreme 68 and 70 Sunreef Power arrived from the Sunreef Yachts shipyard at the event. During this video ASOLARE's helm is balanced, tiller is secured with a TillerClutch, and she is holding her own course. Yes, the trim of the sail's isn't the best ... still figuring out the best set for the sails to have her doing her best.
