Please find right over another week of our lives where we were sailing from Nassau to Clifton part (creek) and after heading to Allen's Cay. On our way Jack showed a very practical way to transfer a liquide from one tank to another with fast and clean results. Our first passage from Nassau to creek took us about an hour, but we were able to go under sail just with a light wind. We anchored in a creek for few day to do some snorkeling around one-palm tree island and find out the history of the Clifton's National Park. That creek charmed both of us and we really wished to stay there for few weeks, but....The weather was getting verse and verse, so we moved south to the closest Exuma's cay - Allen's Cay. At the same time we are checking hurricane alerts every day to be aware of the distance and possible ways to react. Music: Scott Holmes - Oceans Apart Keshco - Climate Dance What do you think about Jack's water maker? Would you like us to include more details about it? Sandy feet, Jack & Kateryna

Day two of the Olympic Sailing Competition produced lighter winds more expected at this time of year in Rio, and the south-easterly breezes were mostly around five to seven knots with only occasional moments in double figures. This made for a challenging opening day for the Finn sailors competing in the Heavyweight Men's One Person Dinghy, who raced two heats on the notoriously fickle Pão de Açucar (Sugarloaf Mountain) race course. We leave Akbuk and head to Didim where we check out of Turkey, only once again to be delayed by the wind! One night in Didim Marina, and we decide enough is enough and we head out to Samos. For insurance purposes, we were instructed to make arrangements for the Caribbean hurricane season running from July to November. We had to get above 30 degrees north so we decided to sail from the US Virgin Islands to the east coast of American to North Carolina. This video includes our voyage from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Wilmington, North Carolina. There are clips from various places in Fort Lauderdale including Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, Butterfly World, Sawgrass Mills, Hyatt's Pier 66 marina and resort, and more. We also say goodbye to our guest, Kyle, who traveled with us from the US Virgin Islands to Florida - join us for three weeks. There's a short interview with him. There's a bit of footage of sailing in the Atlantic with no wind and very calm waters in addition to what it's like to sail up the Cape Fear River ending up in Port City Marina, Wilmington, North Carolina. On our inaugural trips to the Forgotten Islands in 2010, our excited visitors enjoyed seeing rare Weedy, Bumphead parrotfish, Jacks (Big-eye trevallies), Giant trevallies, Spanish mackerel, schooling barracuda, hammerhead sharks, a 3 meter salt water crocodile, and a whale shark! thesevenseas.net/destination-forgotten-islands.html Video by LInda Johnston

Indonesia's "Forgotten Islands" - also known as the Southeast Moluccas (Maluku Tenggara) - are not a single destination, but rather a 1,000 km long chain of archipelagos stretching from Timor to West Papua on the island of New Guinea. Undeveloped, distant from population centers and far off any beaten path, these "Forgotten Islands" have been largely isolated from the rest of Indonesia and the world. www.thesevenseas.net/destination-forgotten-islands.html This video by Linda Johnston has been taken on a Forgotten Islands Trip with the Seven Seas in November 2012.

Witness the gem on the Indian Ocean, the Maldives, with a view from above. This video was shot using DJI unmanned recreational drones. From above one can truly witness the beauty and scale of the Maldives islands as the UAV sweeps over virgin, white beaches, deep, blue oceans and ornate, stilted resorts. Capturing the island nation from perspectives that have never been experienced is not only unique, but truly breath-taking. Wherever you go, go with all your heart. These are wise words coming from a Chinese political philosopher over 2500 years ago, but travel was a topic that Confucious was genuinely experienced in. Members of the ancient Chinese empires travelled the globe extensively, frequently criss-crossing the Indian Ocean in search of trade and the promise of wealth. Many Chinese traders had made landfall along the numerous, populated islands that dot the Laccadive Sea, South-West of India and Sri Lanka. The friendly and hospitable locals would have called themselves “the people from the Garland Islands”, a chain of islands that are known in Sanskrit as Maldives. The Maldives is unlike any other island state. The islands are a collection of atolls, or submarine volcanic ridges, that only just break sea-level. This means that the islands, at their highest points, are just 2m above sea-level, and because they are not volcanically active, they are shrinking in size. Unfortunately, the Maldives are unlikely to be around for very long. Due to the extreme circumstances of global warming, the rise of sea levels means that by the year 2100 the Maldives will be all but blanketed by the blue Indian Ocean waters. Read more here: http://www.theguardian.com/environmen... So before Maldives departs, likely after our lifetimes, even with the onset of modern medicine, how about planning that tropical island vacation. It may not take a rocket scientist to notice that tourism makes up the largest portion of the country’s GDP, but it may come as a surprise that tourism makes the nation so much money that they propose to buy land in foreign countries once the sea takes over. If you find this hard to believe, read here: http://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-New... Maldives can only be accessed through Male’, the island nation’s capital. Male’ has a population of 150 000 people, but the surprising fact is that all 150 000 people, plus additional tourists, inhabit an area of only 6 square kilometres. From birds-eye-view the island is a cluster of buildings and sky-risers that literally teeter on the edge of the ocean. You’ll be lucky to find any picturesque beaches here, but the city does uncover the rich and vibrant culture of the Maldivians. When in Male’ make sure to visit the famous Fish Market where experienced mongers cut and clean huge tuna in seconds. Also look out for the two symbols of Islamic prevalence in the Maldives, the Friday mosques, or take a trip to the semi-artificial island of Hulhumale to Male’s North. Male’ is the perfect place to book fishing safaris, while snorkelling and diving is best left to the smaller islands in the archipelago. If beaches are your thing, then hit the white sands and calm turquoise beaches on Maafushi Island. With over 30 guest houses and hotels this island is not yet overpopulated, and offers a great relaxing island vibe. The trick is to find a reasonable island resort, and once that is said and done then the visitor can make the Indian Ocean their playground, snorkelling and diving to their heart’s content. Turns out, fiberglass work is challenging AND entertaining. The boys rip out all the vinyl and scrape off every inch of adhesive, then cut a hole in the boat to repair a soft spot in the deck. Facebook.com/BumsOnABoat https://www.patreon.com/bumsonaboat

Here is part two of our twenty-one days at sea to complete our required 1000 nautical miles for the Swiss Competence for Ocean Yachting license.  We explore a bit of Ciutadella. Learn about lighthouse signals from our skipper Nico. We cruise all around the south coast of Minorca Island and catch our first fish before we dock at Port Mahon on the east side of the island. We're surrounded by  big yachts at Mahon Yacht Club for the modest high season price of €120 for the night! Cruising the Med in July and August is expensive. Another valuable learning experience.
