Take a look round this wonderful and historic trimaran, which belongs to French owner and skipper Charlie Capelle. Now named A Capella, this 38ft Walter Green design from the 1970s was once Canadian sailing legend Mike Birch's Olympus Photo. Birch raced her in the very first Route du Rhum solo transatlantic race in 1978 and, to the astonishment of the French press, beat Michel Malinovsky's maxi Kriter V, a monohull almost twice its size. The little trimaran overhauled the big monohull just 500m from the finish line to win by 98 seconds after almost 3,500 miles of racing. Capelle, a well-known boatbuilder, has Acapella in fantastic condition and tweaked for racing. She now sports carbon rig and carbon floats and is beautiful inside, as you can see in this little video. Her crew said she was 'drysuit wet' in the Fastnet Race, upwind and downwind, and agreed that, yes, she really is a Yellow Submarine! #Musto #TheInsideEdge ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Yachting World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/user/yachtingworld?sub_confirmation=1 ► For the latest reviews, new gear launches and tour news, visit our website here - http://www.yachtingworld.com ► Like us on Facebook here - https://www.facebook.com/yachtingworldmagazine ►Follow us on Twitter here - https://twitter.com/yachtingworld ►Feel free to comment below! ►Remember to hit that LIKE button if you enjoyed it :)

NOW SOLD http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/northshore-38-zen-satori The Northshore 38 is renowned for winning race performance without compromising on comfort and ability in the most testing Sydney to Hobarts. An ever popular Australian design, the 38 is ideal for social and serious sailing. ‘Zen Satori’ is the cruising model designed and built by Kaufman Incorporated and launched in 1989. Below decks her spacious and classic look allow for blue water cruising or casual harbour sailing. The yacht has been extremely well cared for by her owners who have equipped her for liveaboard cruising and have not spared any expense on ensuring she is safe and comfortable. With continuous upgrades to her electronics, engine, interior and navigation systems, she is a really good example of this classic Australian cruiser / racer. Her hull was antifouled with copper coat late 2013 so has at least 6 or 7 years left and only requires annual pressure washing. Her standing rigging was inspected in 2013 with a partial replacement and records have been kept for all major servicing. She is powered by a Volvo Penta 2003 which was completely re-built roughly 1500 hours ago and runs very efficiently at 2-3ltrs/hr. The boom furling mainsail is original with a near new # 1 overlapping jib. Modifications such as the pulpit boarding step have been added for easy access to the bow when docked, and a retractable stainless steel davitts device fixed to her transom to carry deploy and carry the yachts’ tender. Stainless steel rails have been added to her dodger for safe passage fore and aft with non-skid paint on her top decks. All lines lead aft from the mast to two sets of Barient ST winches and several rope clutches. She has upgraded ST60 wind instruments at the helm with a course master autopilot and brand new portable Garmin Chart plotter with cockpit attachment. All boat covers have been recently upgraded and provide excellent shade with near new dodger and bimini covers. Below decks Zen Satori is pleasantly light and bright with upgraded blue upholstery and varnished timberwork. She sleeps up to 6 with a separate owner’s cabin forward, convertible dinette amidships and aft quarter berth. She has a fully enclosed head and shower and offers hot and cold pressure water throughout. The galley is equipped with 2-burner gas stove with oven, stainless steel sink, a generous supply of pots and pans; large top opening regulated electric fridge and lots of storage space. There will always be ample power to top up the two house batteries from two 100 watt solar panels that are fixed to her bimini. Zen Satori provides excellent value as a fun and safe cruiser / racer equipped for long range cruising and is ready to go with several extras and spares not listed on her inventory. Watch the video for more details and to see her in action and to arrange a viewing please contact Sonia Robinson.

Thoughtfully outfitted and customized by experienced owners, SEAHORSE is elegant with her Fighting Lady Yellow hull, designer fabric upholstery and gloss varnished pilothouse and exterior teak. Maintained by Hinckley Yacht Services since new, SEAHORSE is in exceptional condition.

Music by Zayden (https://soundcloud.com/zaydeen) Really appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon If Patreon isn't your thing, I also have a Paypal.me link: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, Nikon D810, Sony RX100 iii, DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, Underwater Housing, tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What're your plans? Buy a boat, fix it up, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.
What is the best camera on a sailboat? We are often asked about our camera equipment, and what camera for sailing people should use. Are there really best cameras for sailing videos? Is there really only one best camera for sailing videos, or should you have several? Go Pros and underwater cameras are pretty important when you live on a sailboat, but what is the best drone to use when you're sailing? We discuss a bunch of issues for you to consider when starting out in the vlogging sailing world. What's the best camera? Should you have a traditional DSLR or a dedicated video camera? This is a comprehensive look for anyone wanting to start out in vlogging (known as "run and gun" or "gorilla film-making") and film-making and in particular for anyone living on a boat as a liveaboard cruiser. We also tackle how to take videos on a boat, including sound and lighting considerations. -------------------------- If you like our videos then please do consider becoming a supporter, it really helps us. Across the Atlantic by myself sailing on a 36'boat. Rain squalls and constant rolling seas are beginning to take their toll. Also in this episode, I perform my original song 'Devil and the deep blue sea' while to celebrate reaching the middle of the Atlantic. I'd like to mention that the 'Old Seadog' is now on Patreon and thank those who have supported the project. I'd also like to thank the nearly 2000 new subscribers that have joined the channel this month. Your support humbles me. Now on Patreon. Please checkout our page on the link below. https://www.patreon.com/Adventuresofanoldseadog Thank you for watching this episode of Adventures of an old Seadog, I hope you enjoyed it. A great deal of work and love goes into every video in the series. Please give us a thumbs up. On Facebook our page is ‘Adventures of an old Seadog’ and there you can find ‘realtime’ up-dates and news that you are welcome to share with your friends. All of the ‘Seadog’ videos are available to watch on the ‘Barry Perrins’ channel on Youtube. For notifications on new releases please subscribe. Thanks so much for your support, The adventure continues. Safe sailing. Twitter https://twitter.com/barryperrins Facebook https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofanoldseadog/ Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Living an alternative life in North Queensland, in the town of Bowen, at the top of the Whitsundays Islands, the married couple shares their experience in the building process of Essenza while also working and slowing down to the simple things in life in the beautiful area of the Great Barrier Reef. They are following the design plan of the boat builder Peter Snell: a 41 foot catamaran. Their goal is to have an alternative lifestyle living aboard. The movies, once the boat is completed, will show also their very personal experience on board through life and the ocean. This particular video shows the different stages involved in the construction of a timber, composite epoxy FRP yacht.

This video is a little glimpse of some atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago - French Polynesia. These atolls are one of the remote place in the world, where the nature is still alive and wild. They are amazing and stunning. Music By: Blue Giraffe Traler Adventure Theme
S1E7 Ready for living on a Yacht full time hope no leak! The Boat Life Sailing adventure travel vlog
We have done a number of boat projects and now the final preparations to splash have begun. Once sv Dodi is in the water the boat life will be living on a yacht full time! Before the launch the bimini and dodger are on, main sail and stay sail are on, and our sailboat is ready to be on the water and sailing...we think unless we have a leak. It is an exciting time as we transition to life on a sailboat. Follow along on our liveaboard adventure as we plan to set sail for the Caribbean. This is The Boat Life. Nic Morganti and Melissa Auman are moving onto a sailboat. The plan was sell everything, buy a boat, live on a boat, and travel and explore the Caribbean and the world while living aboard! Simple plan, but lots to learn and do along the way. Join our adventure as we sail away, live on a sailboat, and explore life aboard. Thanks for watching! Finally got our engine issue sorted and hit the water for a quick sail that went a bit awry. We didn't get footage of the drama because we were too busy trying to get the engine started and keep the boat from drifting to shore. (and failing to avoid ramming the wall at the mooring basin!) We are glad that you chose to check out our videos! Thanks for watching! ^_^ ... (Click "Show More" below for music links and more info.) Did you know that Niccolea is going to be the first Black American woman on record to sail around the world and Dovid is going to be the first Jewish American on record to do so? AND Captain Nigel Shortbottom will be the first circumnavigating Manx boat kitty! PLEASE HELP US MAKE A PROFESSIONAL QUALITY DOCUMENTARY... This is a pantry restocking trip- this was unplanned. I knew I needed items to restock our pantry, but had no list, other than what was in my head. I grabbed jars and produced bags as I left the house and was able to make it as close to zero waste as possible. This was during the end of my zero waste July experience. By that time I was basically done with the idea of not purchasing something that was going to nourish my family because it had plastic around it. Creating a home environment that is good for the planet and our health (and our budget) is important to me. Sometimes those values don't always match up... I personally enjoy watching grocery hauls, but I hope other household shoppers will pull from it some easy to apply waste reduction tips such as... 1. Don't bag produce that already comes in their own wrappers. Even produce that you will eat the skin off of (such as apples) are okay to send down the belt without bags (make sure you give them a good washing!). 2. I used to feel silly using a BYOB produce bag if I mix in plastic bags here and there... but who cares! If you only have one or two produce bags to work with, use those. You've just reduced your waste by one or two produce bags. Follow me on Instagram for more food hauls and recipe ideas http://instagram.com/jenniferdonogh PS. If you explore on this channel a bit I have a few other videos that actually share what it looks like when I shop in PCC with my bags and jars!
