Crossing the banks to Dollar Harbour they encounter whales and a traditional Haitian fishing sloop and after some tricky navigation through Hog Cay Cut arrive in George Town where local sailors have tamed several stingrays. Im Süden der Stadt erstreckt sich eine einzigartige Landschaft, die man sich auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen sollte. Auf schmalen Wegen kann man sich in eine unwirklich anmutende Umgebung wagen und mit sicherem Tritt manch Gradwanderung unternehmen. Es eröffnet sich eine völlig andere Welt: karge Bäume, knorrige Äste, orangefarbene Erde und eine hervorragende Sicht in die Weite der Berge. Wir waren sehr vorsichtig und sind nicht alle Pfade gelaufen, die möglich gewesen wären. Den Respekt vor den schmalen Wegen sollte man in dieser Gegend nie ablegen. Wir konzentrierten uns um sicher durch das Gelände zu kommen und sahen für uns keine Gefahr. In jedem Fall fanden wir beiden den Pai Canyon atemberaubend schön! Die Hitze der Gegend trieb uns jedoch wieder weiter auf den Roller, da wir uns vom Fahrtwind kühlen lassen konnten. Begleite uns auf unserer Reise um den Globus 🌍. Croatian tourism wouldn't be what it is today without the traditions found in Dalmatia. We meet Mate, a retired captain from the seaside village of Krilo Jesenice. Modern shipbuilding began to boom in Croatia, and particularly Krilo, in 1992, with the repurposing of small wooden ships that were originally manufactured to transport cargo and sand, into simple passenger-carrying vessels. Since then this innovative industry has boomed over the past decade and today Krilo is a busy shipyard that produces impressive ships, whilst holding onto its roots and traditions!
