In this episode we sail to the Rio Guadiana, on the border of Portugal and Spain. Here we anchor 22 miles upriver and find wild food growing in abundance...olives, almonds, herbs, prickly pear cactus, quince, pomegranate and asparagus! With many nationalities living on the river full time, this is a true liveaboard community, and a special place we felt right at home. In this episode, we take a pretty sweet dinghy adventure. We leave the Marina Jack docks and head under the Ringling Bridge towards one of the sandbars in Sarasota Bay. After playing at the beautiful sandbar, we dinghy over to an empty beach and go snorkeling for shells. After leaving the beach we stopped dockside at the bait shop for lunch. Thanks for watching! In this episode watch the Fruit Bats of Savusavu as Aya narrates in classic David Attenborough style. We're back in Savusavu, a beautiful little haven on Vanua Levu the 2nd largest island in Fiji. Tony Robbins owns a resort a few kilometers down the road where you can stay for the incredible deal of $1200 USD per NIGHT! Savusavu has two really cool natural phenomena. One is a hot spring that can power the ENTIRE island of Vanua Levu (you can see it in the next episode) and the other are the Fruit Bats! The Fruit Bats come out at night and are bigger than Miya. They also like fruit as much as she does.
