DNA | Holland Composites offer the very fast DNA A-cat for use in the global A-Class competition. The 2015 A-Class World Championship was held in Punta Ala, Italy in September 2015. The tournament showed an epic sailing battle for first place between Glenn Ashby and Mischa Heemskerk, both sailing a DNA A-cat. We asked Kettle Cinema to capture the event and create stunning footage of the DNA F1 A-class foiling catamaran in action. A film was already published - please check our account - however much footage was left unused. This film is Kettle Cinemas directors cut of that unused footage.

The Islas CÍes was named by The Guardian “Top 1 of 10 beaches in the World”. We set sail from Muros towards the CÍes Islands to see for ourselves if this beach lives up to the title. The sail there is gorgeous: 22 knots of downwind, a smooth ride that only gets better when a pod of dolphins comes by to greet us and play at Polar Seal’s bow. At this point, Ryan is still recovering from his two weeks of business trips, and feels tired all the way down there. The next day, we inflate the dinghy and leave Polar Seal for an excursion on the trails of Isla do Faro, and climb up the top at Faro de Cìes. We then go down to spend the day at the beach, where Sophie runs straight to dive in the water, only to find out that it is quite cold. Leaving Cìes means leaving Galicia, which makes us a bit sad. Galicia is a gem of a region, and we cannot believe that we didn’t know about it before we made landfall from crossing Biscay. The landscapes are incredible, the people absolutely lovely and the food unbelievably good and affordable. Go check it out!!! Well this is unexpected. The first big storm to make landfall has Honu dead in it's sights. This is predicted to be the largest storm ever to make landfall this far north. This is part of the reason why we brought Honu north in the first place. The good news is that we are already hauled out on dry land and had the boat hurricane prepped for just this eventuality, even though we thought at the time that we were just being paranoid. If there is one thing the steady north winds in the Bahamas are good for, it’s flying the chute, headed south to Little Harbour! Ahoy followers! In Bahamas vlog time, we are just wrapping our stay at beautiful Hope Town, Bahamas (where we got lucky enough to snag a ball inside the harbor our first night there!) and sail this badass boat south to Little Harbour. Under spinnaker! I mention in this video another video we put out last year showing exactly how we rig and hoist the spinnaker on our boat for any of you just launching yours (don’t worry, it took us years before we were brave enough). Little Harbour turned out to be a fascinating little hurricane hole at the south end of the Bahamas. We had some friends from Pensacola who were there at the same time on their Katana catamaran, so we got to rendezvous with them at the fantastically-fun and quirky bar, Pete’s Pub, and meet the infamous Pete, himself. Pete is the son of Randolph Johnston, an American teacher and bronze sculptor who first settled with his family in Little Harbour in the 1950’s. Some fascinating history there. Join us for some bad weather in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Not much fun punching into 35+ knots for the 4 inexperienced sailors onboard. We then say goodbye to our guests and sit down to have a chat to you about the most recent series of unfortunate events and how everything led up to us running aground and an accident onboard. As cruisers, most people we meet suggest to us that we move rather quickly around the world. We never really spend too long in one place before we either start getting itchy feet or as in this case are forced to keep moving to meet people in a certain location. This is a good lesson for others who've just set off or plan to. Try and avoid meeting people in places, when you can, make them come to you. It'll be one heck of a sweeter ride.
