s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg-Rassy 54) sailing adventure continues with the next stage of sailing Massachusetts. After sailing Gloucester and Cape Cod canal, in this video we are sailing Martha's Vineyard. Which consists of two sailing trips: First trip - sailing from Onset and arriving in Edgartown - where we took a mooring buoy. The weather was a bit dull and we only had a short visit in town. Nevertheless, we were very impressed with our finding. Good wind made us decide to make a move in search of brighter weather, so sailing Nantucket we went! After few days in Nantucket (see next video), we sailed back to Martha's Vineyard. Hence the second sailing trip - sailing Nantucket to Martha's Vineyard. During our second stop, we anchored in Vineyard Haven Harbor, by Tisbury village. From there we had two days biking Martha's Vineyard. Along east coast, from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown, and next day towards east, all the way to Menemsha fishing village. This sailing video contains both sailing trips, and all our travel adventures ashore. It turns out you don't need a lot of money to be able to enjoy St. Barth's. You just need a scooter to take full advantage of all its beaches. Having spent much of our time centered in Gustavia, we wanted to see what else the tropical paradise of St. Barthelemy had to offer. And prior to this, when we asked other travelers what there was to see and do on the island, their answer was always 'So and so beach'...and of course the airport. Heading out in the morning we had a list of beaches to tackle, although really the main goal was just to drive and stop when something looked good. And it turns out...a lot of the beaches looked pretty good! First was Anse de Colombier, which was a great hike leading to a beach and anchorage that left us drooling...and then back on the bike to Anse de Lorient which was fairly empty and had a laid back vibe. Anse Marechal was the next stop for us...a popular beach with the kiteboarders. From the air, it was a spectacular view. Our fourth beach for the day we knew we needed to make a visit to. Anse de Grande Saline, or the nude beach. In French islands, all the beaches are topless, but usually they have one or two nude beaches also. And well....we kind of wanted the chance to go skinny dipping without getting a fine. The water here was amazing and we could have stayed all day. There was a late lunch at JoJo's Burger Shack before watching the planes come in to land at the airport...the 3rd most dangerous in the world. DNA Performance Sailing (a Holland Composites brand) offer the very fast DNA A-cat for use in the global A-Class competition. This film gives an impression of the 2015 F1 A -Class World Championship, held in Punta Ala, Italy in September 2015. The tournament showed an epic sailing battle for first place between Glenn Ashby and Mischa Heemskerk, both sailing a DNA A-cat. F1 A-Class foiling catamarans are amongst the fastest single handed racing boats in the world. Most other racing classes are one-design whereas the A-Class is a development class and as a result it has become a pure high-tech boat and outright speed machine. The combination of the use of the latest available performance materials and production processes in the series production of both hulls and masts, as well as innovative sail designs, has allowed the A-Class Catamaran to push the boundaries to the point where it is considered by many as Formula One amongst all sailing craft. Speeds close to 30 knots are already recorded.
