Triumphing at this year’s anniversary edition will hold an even greater appeal for competitors - from the challenge of breaking the 11-year old race record to overall victory on IRC handicap. Whoever claims the Rolex Middle Sea Trophy and Rolex timepiece as overall winner will prevail from the largest fleet in the race's history. Rolex has been Title Sponsor of the race since 2002.

En el Real Club Náutico de Tenerife lo cuidaron y utilizaron como barco escuela. Durante 18 años ostentó el record de la Regata de San Ginés. Estuvo varios años en A Coruña y hace poco regresó a Tenerife.

After the past 7 weeks being so hectic, we took a week off to sail to Jervis Bay - the furthest we'd ever sailed. Our half way overnight destination was the Hawkesbury and after an atrocious passage the first day, we decided to take the next day to just recover but it turned out that the weather changed with more southerlies and gale force winds so we made the decision to stay where we were and enjoy the week in the Hawkesbury. After the long weekend ended, everyone else left so we hooked up to a mooring in America Bay, where we had never been able to get into before and enjoyed the next few days to relax. Am 4. Tag unseres Absegel-Törns 2018 blieben wir gemütlich im Hafen von Marstal. Ganz früh morgens um 7.15 Uhr gab es einen farbenfrohen und spektakulären Sonnenaufgang zu sehen. Nach dem gemeinsamen Frühstück auf Christine in großer Runde, gingen einige spazieren im Wald, andere an den Strand und manche in die kleine Innenstadt und zum SuperBrugsen (dänischer Supermarkt) Und eigentlich hockte immer jemand auf dem Steg... irgendwann wurden die Gitarren geholt und der Wein geöffnet... und nach dem Sonnenuntergang saßen wir zum gemeinsamen Abendessen (Nudeln mit Pesto, frischen Tomaten und Rucola) wieder an Bord der Christine (da ist einfach ausreichend Platz für so viele Leute). Und wie der Abend so verlief sehr ihr ja im Video😜

Arriving in Lagos, it felt good to finally arrive in a place where we could buy the parts that we needed, and competent boat mechanics and electricians! We picked our new AIS transponder, a Raymarine AIS700 and went back to the boat to install it. During the installation, Ryan realizes that 2 years ago went our mast came down, our VHF cable and TV cables had been accidentally swapped, causing both our VHF and AIS to not function properly. Installing the new AIS helped us figure it out, and we now have a AIS transponder and a VHF radio that works great!
