Reece, Jai & Steph all became RAID 20 Open Water Certified Scuba Divers last weekend. Not the best visibility, but had a blast anyway! Now on to the 35 Open Water course and their first shipwreck dive.
A waterfall and a drone crash, a new windlass and chartplotter, a bit of plumbing and boatwork and we learned to scuba dive. This video contains 6 months of footage - we've been so busy the last few months that we haven't been able to get to the boat very often. We have a stack of parts here at home to be installed on the boat so there will certainly be another video on the way soon.
After the past 7 weeks being so hectic, we took a week off to sail to Jervis Bay - the furthest we'd ever sailed. Our half way overnight destination was the Hawkesbury and after an atrocious passage the first day, we decided to take the next day to just recover but it turned out that the weather changed with more southerlies and gale force winds so we made the decision to stay where we were and enjoy the week in the Hawkesbury. After the long weekend ended, everyone else left so we hooked up to a mooring in America Bay, where we had never been able to get into before and enjoyed the next few days to relax. In this video, we're really making progress on the boat - a new bimini, new upholstery, replacing hatch seals, finding leaks, installing solar panels and more. Nothing ever comes easy though! Another long weekend, another holiday...we planned to sail to Sydney for the Vivid Festival, but after getting the last few jobs done we found that we couldn't get Barnaby out of Swansea Channel. We weren't going to let that stop us though. We packed our bags, booked a hotel and drove the 3 hours to Sydney to spend the next 3 days exploring in the cold and rain, walking 35 kms in total! What do you do when there is no wind to sail? Make improvements and upgrades to the boat. We're about halfway through our to-do list now. Not long now and we can finally take Serenity on a longish trip...maybe to Port Stephens, Pittwater, or even head north to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays!!!
