#Aeolian I#island, docking options around #LIPARI island | Sicily | sea tv For more information :https://seatv.world/location/aeolian-islands-sicilia/ LIPARI is the largest island of the Aeolian islands This video is about docking options around the island Marina Pigantaro lies at the N end of Lipari Roadstead The breakwater pier is for fishing boats You can dock closer to the city in rada di lipari but these platforms are open to the bay and are affected by winds and by the wake from traffic entering the city’s port. these are the Anchorages around the islands: Marina corta lies on the s side of Lipari town At Canneto- you can anchor off to the WSW or E of the moorings, the depths are 20m In Punta Castagna on the N side, you can Anchor off the beach in depth between 6 and 10m At Porticello- you can anchor off the beach in depth between 5-10m Spiaggia di vinci a small beach W of Punta della Crepazza at Valle muria you can anchor in 5 or 10m depth towards the N end, but care is needed of the reef in the S end of the bay Cala del Fico- you can anchor in depth between 10&15m at the N end. care is needed of the reef in the middle of the bay. Porto Pignataro Marina The marina contains small local boats and large commercial vessels. A tour of the island, which takes about four hours, with a rental car, can cover almost all of it. Except for observations of the nearby islands and a visit to a well-tended church in the north of the island, we were not impressed by the beauty of the great island of the Aeolian Islands, for which the Lippers are named. The city centre of Lipari is charming, with plenty of designer shops and many restaurants, up alleys and greenery, remains only a choice... A tour of the narrow streets of the city allows for a closer look at the urban life in Italy, The 'living room' facing the alley. The restaurant kitchens, as well as those considered prestigious, offer a glimpse into the cook's work, some of which have a wide window to the street, and this is apparently what the restaurant planners wanted. Romantics will probably choose a wine shop/bar, near the square overlooking the southern port, offering fine wines with a selection of cheeses and 'opening' dishes, most of which feature the typical snorkel buds and, finally, the famous Malvasia dessert wine. Within the walls of the old city, it is recommended to visit the Volcanic Museum and the Archaeological Museum, which are invested and closed (Sunday closed) and the large cathedral, with frescoes and the ancient part of the church, also visible from the sea. A beautiful view from the reconstructed amphitheatre to the south of the city and the fishing harbour. 🎥Subscribe for New Videos Every Week! ▸ http://bit.ly/2UpmECk These videos will make your Sailing Vacation much more EASY⛵️ ▸ Choose your Sailing area: https://seatv.world 👀 If you can’t find it, Sorry we’re working on it… 🎬 ▸ Got Tips/ Videos? Esperamos vocês no mar, futuros vizinhos!

The boat utilises a hard-chined, plywood construction and this design of boat is a proven, capable, ocean-going vessel. Boat building with plywood is a relatively easy and cost-effective way to produce a strong, monocoque-style boat hull. These videos aim to show the way in which I go about it. Thank you! Tony
This haloween themed PVP event is really fun when div'ed up with some friends. Can't wait to see what other ships they bring in later on. Here are a couple of battles I had that are worth your time, I hope... Enjoy ;)

Michal and I were lucky enough to be invited to sail the north coast of the Dominican Republic. We are still working to get our boat in shape to cruise and jumped at the chance to join our friends on a trip to Playa Cambiaso. On the way there we sailed aboard an Island Packet and the jibe gets hairy on our return trip aboard a C&C. Marinas in Ibiza are expensive so the only way to get water is to pay for a 30 minute slot and go like crazy to get everything plugged in, charged up, filled up and washed down! The shops are further away so that means a trip on the dinghy and a walk up the hill, and when you've got lot of guests arriving, that's a BIG task! And we had a lot of guests this summer, starting with the kids' uncle John, his partner Helga and cousin Jacob. Then typically, as we were leaving to go sailing around the Island of Ibiza the battery charger stopped charging. We spend several days trying to fix it finally, it had to be returned to the UK for repair. However, with very diligent battery management we decided to carry on. So, we eventually headed up the coast to Benirras, a lovely bay with the famous Queen Victoria Rock, where drumming and yoga on the beach is a daily routine. It’s also a great spot to watch the amazing sunsets. We also decided to have a belated birthday party here for the kids after a somewhat subdued celebration in Tunisia. It also happened to be Alex's birthday too so a triple celebration was called for. After probably too much beer, Woody decided to become clickbait to lift our YouTube viewing figures and manfully donned a fancy bra in a vain attempt to boost our subscriber base.. watch this space for results! Off to somewhere less crowded next so we headed for Tamalago, where we encountered jelly fish and naked paddle boarders. As no-one could remember the name of the island we christened it Jellyfish Bay before continuing down the east coast of Ibiza to Cala Llonga where jumping off rocks all day became the kids favourite sport! Cala Talamanca was our final stop on this leg where we went ashore to explore Ibiza old town and do a guest swap, because uncle John, Helga and Jacob were leaving and our friend Heidi was arriving with her two kids. at the top of Ibiza old town there's an amazing view of the bay with its busy port and many super yachts! As we'd explored North of the island it was time to go South and we found a beautiful anchorage in the National Park area. In the Balearic islands you have to pay special attention to where you anchor because of the protected poseidonia sea grass. But no matter how carefully you lay your anchor, when the wind changes and the boast swings around if your chain touches the poseidonia, you're asked to re-anchor by the 'plant police' - regular patrols checking up on you! So we dived on the anchor several times to check.. but only to spotted more problems like the chain wrapped around a rock and chipped anti-foul. With the adults pre-occupied, the kids had a taste of freedom and went exploring and diving themselves. However, with freedom comes an element of risk, and Rowan had a nasty sting from a jellyfish that afternoon, so they kids turned their attention to the BBQ, grill. Formentera is the fourth Balearic island and we passed a lot of super yachts on the way there. Whereas Ibiza is all mountains, rocks and greenery, Formentera is sandy beaches and turquoise water - absolutely beautiful. Luckily, we also found a shop to reprovision, because with only one small fridge and lots of guests, we had very little ingredients for our regular Friday pizza and movie night! We STILL haven't got our watermaker up and running so with nowhere to fill up in Formentera we had to be careful with our water, so the shower water goes in a bucket that is then used to rinse the costumes and snorkelling gear before finally utilised to rinse dinner plates! WE obviously wash up in clean water afterwards though! Our penultimate stop was Cala Tarida before finally heading back to San Antonio for Heidi and her kids' last night. Sadly it was time to say goodbye.. and wait for our next guests to arrive! At the end of our last episode, we left you thinking we ran aground. Yeah, we did. Though in all fairness, it was more of a “nudge the bottom” situation. The question was, how did we manage to run aground in 8 feet of water, when we only draft 4? Turns out we were drafting much more. Unbeknownst to us, the line we had strung under the hull between the midship cleats had slipped off turning our several mile journey from the yard to our first marina. Believing our board was still up (we draft 4’ 2” with it up), we thought we’d just squeak into a slip with 5 feet of depth. Nope. We hit bottom about ten feet before reaching the dock. Now what? This turned into quite the drama for our first days on the river. We started with staying overnight at a lock, which you generally aren’t supposed to do — especially without permission; fortunately the lock operator on duty was sympathetic to our situation, as the lock itself was the only area in this part of the river with enough depth for our boat in its current state. The next morning, we backtracked six miles, first to Crowley’s Yacht Yard to procure some hardware for a new mast plug. The plug needed to bear the weight of the 200 lb. centerboard (via the pennant running from the board up through the partners and to the rope clutch on deck). This was our other problem: The first version of the mast plug we had fabricated didn’t work; we needed to make a new one. The rigging master at Crowley’s was incredibly helpful, and even gave us a couple blocks for free. We headed back to Skyway where they had dock space for us to start building the new mast plug. We were hoping that with a new plug we’d be able to pull the board up. Alas, no dice… We had to haul out. Three hundred and seventy-five dollars later, our board was back in its trunk, and our boat was again drafting 4’ 2”. We found out the centerboard had swung forward of 90 degrees, and the pennant had become jammed between the board and the trunk. Once we had the boat out of the water, we were easily able to free the pennant, and winch the board back up. Onward downriver! Hope you enjoy, Lauren & Kirk P.S. Carly and I have spent months searching high and low for a blue water sailing boat in our budget that will be a suitable vessel to sail around the world. We've gone to see a wide range of boats, from very small high end Swedish yachts to cheaper but larger production boats, and a fair few in between. Check out the boats that we've been to see and give us your feedback on which you think would make a great live aboard sailing yacht to take us around the world. s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg-Rassy 54) left the quiet overnight anchorage of Betterton in the northern end of the Chesapeake and had a wonderful sailing trip to Edgewater on South River, just south of Annapolis. At first light wind and current against us, but it soon turned into an exhilarating upwind sailing on flat water. We arrived at Westbrook’s (OCC port officer) dock late afternoon in the very sheltered Almshouse Creek. The following days were very busy socially as we attended an OCC dinner, a Hallberg-Rassy reception, visited Annapolis with Alex, and then flying to Canada for Thanksgiving with family. The Annapolis Sailing Boat show was a highlight, except for too many “show offer” temptations, and budget was exceeded! We returned before planned from Canada, due to Hurricane Michael arriving in the Chesapeake Bay. And as we secured s/v Cloudy Bay for the hurricane, we also took the head sails down to prepare her for the yard time in Herrington Harbor North (the yard works will be in the next video). 1-15 October 2018

We decided to stay at anchor during winter in the Greek Islands rather than stay in a marina or haul the boat out which seems to be quite unusual, as we are usually the only boat around most of the time. We leave Rhodes for our next Greek Island, Symi where we start to slow down, enjoy the Greek culture and changing seasons. We get to experience two different and protected anchorages Panormitis and Pedi and enjoy our first full sail without the motor in between the two. We are new to the cruising lifestyle, but so far it is everything we were hoping for and more, great anchorages, amazing people, sunrises and sunsets and freedom. This week we prepare for and enroll SVDreamChaser into the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival. Each year in October, people bring boats from nearby states for a classic display of quality boats and workmanship. There is a cool history here for us in that our boat was in this show in 2001 with the previous owner. When we first bough her, we found a participation plaque on board from the show. So with all the work we have done, we took a shot and brought her into the show We placed 3rd in the Sailboat category, which sounds really impressive until you realize there were only 4 of them there :) Either way, we had a blast and would definitely do this again, it was so cool to meet so many people that have been fans of the youtube show and brought it up to us upon meeting them. Our last leg down the Spanish coast was not just to meet with our dolphin friends but we found some last special spots to finish our Med tour. It's sad to close this chapter of the Mediterranean but we are all pumped about visiting Gibraltar, hanging with the monkeys and then setting sail down the African coast to the Canary Islands. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy. S1E7 - This episode we sail from Sweden to Norway. Doing that, we have to cross the feared sea-areas Kattegat and Skagerrag, where the baltic sea meets the north sea. High waves expect us, winds in gale force and coldness that is going through every part of the Body. Unfortunatelly, that causes some interruptions for Markus... We are finally ready to leave Marina Chiapas only to be thwarted at the final gate. The port it closed due to a cyclone threat just off the coast. So, yet again, we wait. In the meantime we fill our tanks with fuel via a quick outing and Wendy does a little acrylic painting as a gift for a neighbouring boat. We are also invited to a birthday party in the nearby Playa Linda and spend the afternoon drinking marguerites, Mexican style, and sampling some local Mexican cooking, which is lovely. And, of course, the boat jobs continue. This week is all about varnishing. Thanks for watching and following along with our adventure.
