In this episode we survived a storm that began early morning with sustained winds of 25mph while in the south mooring field in St Augustine. Being close to other vessels required that we stand watch to ensure boats did not break loose.

Things break and there's no magic repair technician there to help you troubleshoot the vast array of issues that inevitably come up on a sailboat. Fortunately, this time I'm prepared. Our fridge has been dying a slow death and today it finally decides to crap-out. The saving grace: We have 2 cooler sized fridge-freezers on board. That's right, 2 backups for this exact issue. Now I can procrastinate repairing the fridge and go for a snorkel instead. Ahhhh, gotta love saving today's problems for tomorrow. It's OK, future you will sort it out...one day. The drone footage of our stunning anchorage here in Moorea starts at 06:11 then we dive into the best snorkeling we've experienced here in French Polynesia. The water is cool and crystal clear and the underwater creatures are beautiful. Partir en kayak pour faire de la plongée, telle est notre spécialité. Ce jour là, nous sommes partis de la plage de la ZAC Vallée III à Longoni pour aller jusqu'au récif de la Prévoyante. Sur place, un dauphin nous accueille. Il prend 2 respirations en surface puis disparaît, le spectacle est déjà sympa. Nous nous préparons donc à plonger et nous voilà à l'eau quelques minutes plus tard. Le dauphin est revenu et nous a fait le cadeau de rester pendant 40 minutes, à passer entre nous, à jouer dans les bulles, à aller voir le kayak que nous traînions à l'aide d'un bout. Then back out and north to Matapouri. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a motorhome in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world.
