Last couple of days on the boat before we give it back. We run into one problem after another, Ben asks Alie if she could cross an ocean.

When you see what we saw, you'll hardly believe we are in Africa. But we are! On the island of Santa Antao, Cape Verde. The western-most island of the archipelago is the greenest of Cape Verde. In places it ressembles the Alps with it's high mountains. In other places it feels as if you're in deep lush green valleys of Asia. We take the ferry from Mindelo to Porto Novo. Finally tearing ourselves away from Faial, it was time to hit open waters again. Getting to them was not very easy though. After not being able to shove off the dock due to a strong current pushing us in, the marina had to bring out their tender to pull us off. But from there we had an amazing motor-sail to the isand of Faial. Surrounded by three beautiful Azorean islands, we had a quick visit from dolphins and a spectacular sunset over Sao Jorge. The morning was overcast and misty, making our approach to Terceria a little unnerving since there are many large rocks surrounding the harbor of Angra do Heroismo. A Unesco World Heritage site, it was another amazing landfall for us in the Azores. Plus we had a bonus surprise the night we arrived...old friends from Indiantown happened to be there too! Before Christmas Kim was rushed from to a deserted island to a hospital in the Caribbean. Her heart was beating 233 beats per minute for hours. Lost my drone and hit by a boat In this episode there some ups and downs. We first have a look at the aviation fire fighting brigade in Pollensa. Then I wake up to a bang when another boat hits mine in the middle of the night as the other boat was drifting on anchor. A quite normal anchor mistake. Typical life at anchor I guess. Later I lost my drone and was not so happy about my drone drowned. One Mavic drone down. Sailing into the Lombok Strait in a current running at over 5 knots we flew at high speeds until we hit the rapids! https://www.sailingnandji.com This week on Sailing Nandji, putting our exhaust troubles behind us and collecting our new crew, we head to sea on a day sail along the South coast of Lombok, continuing our journey west as we sail Indonesia towards Malaysia. A quick overnight stop off and nice weather we decide to tackle the notorious Lombok Strait. The currents that run between the Southern Islands of Indonesia are strong and unpredictable. We had been nervous about traversing this area for a long time, but with nice weather today was the day we would take it on! Everything was going fine as we found a strong current floating us north until on the horizon we could see white water and waves... White water rafting in a sailboat! We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We have been in Indonesia for a couple of months cruising and are now high tailing to Malaysia for boat work. We departed Australia 18 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, met some amazing people and experienced cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! | Season 3 | Episode 51 Welcome to Season 3 of my channel! On this episode we push off from the Alsvik Marina on the island of Yxlan and motor through the archipelago to the city and fort of Vaxholm. Vaxholm was a lovely harbor with lots a faculties, shops and an incredible fort I explored the day we arrived. It was nice to finally be back to civilization after such a long stretch of being in the wild islands of Åland. This season will follow my time on board SV Arcturus as we explore the Åland Islands and beyond. We sail into cities, tie up on small islands, anchor bows to and ride out a blow before heading back to Sweden. I hope you will follow along with us on the trip. It was a two day event changing the oil myself on anchor. Had I had the correct tools it would have taken a couple of hours but I didn't have them yet as Outremer did the first oil change etc for free back in France as part of their service for new vessels.
