Horizon Yachts Celebrates the Launch of Twin RP110 Superyachts. Built for two clients who share a unique Horizon yacht ownership story, the two RP110 Superyachts will be delivered to their respective owners in the U.S. and Australia. Despite hailing from different continents, these owners have shared a unique yacht ownership path, which began in 2012 when they each purchased a Horizon E78. From there the owners both moved into Horizon E88 yachts before commissioning their own RP110 Superyachts that, coincidentally, were tank tested together prior to being delivered in the same month.

Conception Island to George Town. Before we departed Conception we were invited for an incredible evening of food and good conversation on a super yacht called Cronos with our new friends Tom and Tara but all good things must come to an end and it's time to go get legal in George Town. A days sail away is probably the most popular anchorage in the Bahamas with regularly 200 yachts anchored in the channel. I'm not super keen on swimming in places like this to be honest if you get my drift... (see what I did there?). Stocking Island is across the channel from George Town and where we anchored. As we are not allowed to enter the USA without getting a visa first (B1B2), our plan was to fly from George Town to Nassau and visit the US embassy there. We made our appointments, booked cheap flights, a cheap hotel for 1 night and flew up. The usual plan is to leave the passports for them to issue the visa once it's approved but they kindly agreed to approve us and then issue the visa once we actually arrived up in Nassau by boat and could wait the 5 days for the return of our passports. You guys remember Philip from our early episodes? Well, he's BACK! Phil will be onboard with us for the next few weeks as we explore the Bahamas. Back in Turks and Caicos we made friends with the guys on catamaran Tribe which if you're a fan of cats... you know exactly what a gun boat is! This is the cream de la cream of cats. We raced them from T&C to Conception and what took us 3 days, they did in 1! Spike and Anna have sailed the Bahamas for years and literally gave us all the must see places so we could maximise our time before I have to head off and make some dollar. Even though the mast is back up and we’re officially a sailboat again(!), we’ve got a scary long list of boat projects to complete before we can leave the dock in Mobile, Alabama. In this video we bend the sails back on, replace the kitchen plumbing, and do a bit of varnishing, finish woodworking and more engine room insulation. We also make a modification to the bulkhead between our chain locker and forward v-berth locker to allow easier stowage of half of our anchor rode further aft. After a particularly bad docking experience with friends aboard (and maybe a little yelling), we gather back in the safety of the kitchen to discuss the experience - and hopefully learn from it. The second day of Antigua Sailing Week was Fever-Tree Race Day, with the impressive fleet mixing it up in gorgeous weather on the south, east and west coast of Antigua. The Bareboat fleet, Double-Handed and Club Class started off Windward Beach with fresh trade wind in the high teens. The six CSA racing classes raced off Rendezvous Beach on tight round the cans courses with more sheltered but gusty conditions in a packed out race area. The Multihulls course took the flyers down the west coast past some of the best beaches in Antigua. In CSA 1, Sir Peter Harrison had a wonderful birthday. His magnificent British superyacht Sojana scored two bullets adding to their win on day one. Sojana is unbeaten so far at Antigua Sailing Week. “We are probably the most difficult boat to manoeuvre at the regatta. With so many boats around us on the Rendezvous Course it was terrifying just getting in a position to start. Throw in two races and its double the stress,” commented Sojana's navigator, Jonny Malbon. “It was a tricky day but also a really good one. We had five hoists and drops, endless tacks and gybes, with most of the moves just a few minutes apart. Getting it wrong on a boat like Sojana you will pay a very high tariff. The boss is super-pumped at getting two bullets on his birthday - the team did an awesome job today.” In CSA 2, Ker 46 Lady Mariposa, skippered by Dane Jesper Bank won the first race, but a sixth in the last race has shortened their class lead to just one point. Sir Hugh Bailey's Antiguan team racing Farr 45 Rebel won the last race to move up to second in the class, ahead of Vittorio Biscarini's Italian Mylius 15E25 Ars Una, purely on countback. Racing in CSA 3, Irishman Adrian Lee is enjoying his sixth Antigua Sailing Week. For this edition Adrian is at the helm of his Swan 60 Lee Overlay Partners II and leads the class after winning the last race today. After three races, Lee Overlay Partners II is tied on points with Mark Jagger's British CNB 60 Theia of London. Pegamos ventos de quase 70 knots, mais de 120 km/h, Ilhabela está um caos em terra e também no Mar, com muitas embarcações tendo ido parar na praia e nas pedras. Salvei o Guina por pouco conseguindo desviar de uma laje e manobrar para não ir parar nas pedras. Depois passamos várias horas negociando com o mar, a deriva e quase sem governo. After sailing from France along the Euro-Atlantic coast to Gibraltar, then to Tangier, Madeira, Savage, Canaries, and Cape Verde, across the Atlantic Ocean to Saint Lucia, now we are in the Caribbean, ready to explore paradise. Our first mission is to Martinique, to an isolated anchorage where navigation is sketchy and the holding is unreliable. It's almost 900 nautical miles from Panama to the Galapagos, there can be huge ocean currents (we had 4 knots with us at one stage then mostly 2 against us the rest of the way), you have to cross the infamous doldrums, there are frequent squalls of torrential rain, massive fish to be caught plus the momentous countdown from North to South as we cross the equator and are transformed by nautical folklore from pollywogs to proper shellbacks! We risk putting up our unicorn sail - the genneka who we have ripped 4 times to date. We also land a giant mahi, see whales, and are visited by the famous red footed boobie. All in all it's an action packed 6 day passage to arrive at the fabulous Galapagos islands. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
