We had a great encounter with two dolphins during a wreck dive on the wreck of the Giannis-D in the Red Sea near Hurghada. The dolphins remained curious and responded to our movements.

Driving from Port Resolution on the east coast of Tanna to Lenekel on the west we pass the lava fields of Mt. Yasur Volcano. The volcano has a great influence on the whole island, particularly the Cargo Cults of The Prince Phillip and John Frum Movements. We discover a bit more as we visit both of them. The tribe from Yakel had featured in a television series in the UK where 5 of them had travelled there to live with various classes of people, culminating in a visit to Windsor Castle and an audience with Prince Phillip. Karl Pilkington had also paid them a visit in his series "An Idiot Abroad" The film "Tanna" a similar tale to Romeo & Juliet had been made featuring them and was nominated at The Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Our first visit was to The Blue Cave, where you have to swim a short distance underwater to enter the huge cavern filled with rays of natural light from a hole in its roof.

We're so happy to bring this episode to you because now are are getting to the really exciting cruising footage of NORWAY!! Before we can enjoy the country and all it has to offer though, we need to make it across the North Sea. We'd heard these can be troubled waters, and although things started out fairly smooth, although with some surrounding showers, we quickly found the motion of the ocean out here wasn't agreeing with us. We spent about 40 hours of this 50 hour passage flat on our back and barley able to move....but it was all worth it when we arrived to Norway and the sun started shining brightly. We return back to the states and work on the boat in Fort Lauderdale. After all, we were in the heart of the boat capital. Marine stores on every corner, shopping, dinning, and air conditioning! It was a nice change to be back in the land of plentiful things, but we were anxiously awaiting our next passage and out of the concrete jungle. While tied up on the dock, we repaired our downwind parasail that we ripped on our passage to Turks & Caicos, removed the old boat and name and finally made it our own! Provisioned and stocked up the boat for our next move south. We had welcomed back my dad, Jacques and his friend Lenny for our sail down to Cuba. On this sail we experienced one of the most scariest moments yet while at sea. Half way on the crossing we sailed directly into a lightning storm. There was no direction we could turn and run from it so we had to punch right through it. Luckily, we made it our of the storm safely and finally made our destination to Marina Hemingway. The 2019 Watersports Inclusion Games took place at Kinsale Yacht Club. With over 250 participants each day, the Games are a unique experience showing how with a little organisation, watersports can be done by everyone. Sport for all, sport for life ! Film by Ryan Wilson

If it was a red letter day for Takashi Okura’s Sled, sailing to a second followed by two wins, to take themselves to the cusp of their first regatta title in more than five years on the 52 SUPER SERIES circuit, the heavyweight title match between Azzurra and Platoon swung two and fro during three exciting windward-leeward contests. With Olympic champion Santi Lange calling tactics for skipper-helm Guillermo Parada, Azzurra seemed to falter in the first light wind race, finding themselves on the wrong side of the course and seemingly unable to match Platoon for speed. At the first top mark, Harm Müller-Spreer’s German-flagged world champions led and Azzurra were eighth and ninth at the first top windward mark. A strong run got them to sixth but in the busy traffic they lost two places. So Platoon immediately wrestled six points back from the 11 point cushion the jittery looking home team had taken on to the water this morning.

After a spirited head-to-head against Platoon, which spanned three, intense, three-race days, Azzurra clinched the 2019 title with one race to spare. Competing in perfect, champagne sailing conditions – 20 knots of northwesterly wind and sparkling September sunshine – a smart solo move on the final downwind of the second race today allowed them to finally put enough points on Harm Müller-Spreer’s German-flagged rivals to finally render the emblematic YCCS crew uncatchable. Lead by Argentine skipper-helm Guillermo Parada with compatriot and long-time friend, Olympic champion Santiago Lange calling tactics, the Azzurra crew add to the 52 SUPER SERIES season titles won in 2012, 2015 and 2017 and draw back level, at four titles apiece, matching the record of 2018 champions Quantum Racing who today finished the season in third, just two points behind Platoon.
