We do a stop on the Georgia ICW at St Simons Island at Kelsey's Aunts and Uncles house for a night and explore the area a little. We are tired of the cold and it was night to have a good meal, hot shower, and warm house to sleep in for the night. Once we are there we realize that St Simons is where the cargo ship sunk that was on the news and we had to go check it out. This is part 2 of the 3 part series of our sailing adventures to Belize. On this episode of WE|Sail, we find ourselves hosting the sails and heading south through our first atoll. We end up zigging and zagging through this uncharted reef off the coast of Mexico and Belize. It was some great sailing paired with some sketchy moments trying to navigate through a maze of coral reef heads. We finally reach then end of the atoll just in time to anchor for a passing squall. WE hope you enjoy this episode. Make sure you SUBSCRIBE so you can get the newest episode updates of the Adventures of WE! Thanks for watching! Consider being our PATREON. www.patreon.com/WEsail

This week on sailing Kawai, we make an early start in an effort to get to the Diros Caves. We manage to get there right on opening and find an easy place to anchor in a large bay with a lot of sand and close to the entrance of the caves. It is a simple 2 minute tender trip to the shore before our mind is blown with this natural wonder. We take a boat ride through the underground caves, which is eerie but magical. If you visit the southern Peloponnese this is a must see and we'd recommend reading a bit about the history before venturing inside as the guide/boat driver only spoke in Greek. With 45nm still to sail we quickly get back on board. The landscape changes almost immediately and we can tell we are on the way to the Cyclades with a more barren and rocky outlook. We pass the middle cape of the 3 in Southern Peloponnese, Cape Tainaron, before anchoring in the dark at Elafonisi a popular anchorage for sailors waiting to pass the notorious cape Maleas. Luckily we timed our transit around the final cape, Cape Maleas well and it is an easy motor sail past it. Trace waves to the monks at the Hermitage and we are fortunate to get some wind early on our way to Milos and we enjoy some good sailing. Jase catches 2 tuna within 10 minutes of putting out his new lure, unfortunately they are again a little too small and we choose to return them to allow them to make baby tuna. We witness another magical sunset over the water as the horizon is blurred, day turns to night and we continue onwards to our anchorage in Milos. We cannot wait to share our next adventure with you when we arrive in Milos and explore some of the most unique and diverse beaches we have ever seen. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :) Instagram Jason: https://www.instagram.com/jase_stephe... WERDE TEIL DER CREW - also dran bleiben und Abo-Button klicken, Klingel anstellen 🤙🏼

We travel across Serbia in all of three hours and then travel through Romania before crossing into Bulgaria. We visit Bucharest and then make our way to the Greek border crossing. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a camper in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.

You don’t have to be the strongest swimmer to enjoy scuba diving, but working on your fin kicking technique can definitely make the experience more enjoyable! You may not have spent much time on this during your courses with scuba instructors, but fin kicking technique should be on your list of scuba skills to practice. In this video, you will find pointers on how to properly flutter kick and frog kick (including a little trick for turning on a dime!) Although seeing it done and getting pointers are helpful in understanding this scuba skill, the best thing you can do is go diving and practice! Learn both fin kicking techniques and then decide which one works best for your body (be aware of the strain on your knees, especially with the frog kick!) Both of these have their purpose underwater so take some time to really practice and fine-tune them. What other scuba skills do you want to learn about? What do you need tips on? Let us know in the comments below! Come diving with us in Komodo National Park, Indonesia! https://azulunlimited.com/ Find us on Instagram and Facebook: Azul Unlimited

The Hobie 16 Open World Championships conclude. After 16 days of sailing and seven events, just two days were ultimately lost due to weather (one with no wind and one with too much). Captiva Island, FL delivered a full mix of conditions in a beautiful tropical venue. Yamil SABA/Gonzalo CENDRA (VEN) are the 2019 Hobie 16 World Champions followed by Nicolaj BJORNHOLT/Michele JENSEN (DEN) and Gav COLBY/Worst NEWS (AUS).

Friday was the first and only sailing day of the final 57 team of the open class race for the H16 world Championship. Introduced as the bigger Hobie 14, the Hobie 16 revolutionized the multi hull scene when it first appeared in 1971. Forty plus years later, this boat continues to attract great sailors. Powerful enough for the world champion, yet forgiving enough for the novice, the 16 can be characterized as the Laser of the catamaran world. It’s a dual trapeze boat for two or more crew that can be sailed in strong winds. I go over some of the major differences between 24V and 12V systems and talk about what it is realistic to power off of Lithium batteries and a large inverter onboard. We also talk about lot's of FAQ's that are listed below: Why do people care about watts? What fridges and freezers can you run off solar and wind? How much does Air conditioning draw, and can we run it off our solar? Do we power our laptops with a DC to DC converter or via the inverter? Is it possible to maintain a 48V battery bank? Is a 24V DC system practical? What are the benefits of a 24VDC system? Solar arch- Why don’t we have our dinghy on davits off the solar arch? What is the make and model of our inverter? Could we incorporate water collection into our solar panels. Is there a difference in the taste of desalinated water? Have we ever had issued with the solar panels in high wind? Are the lithium batteries physically the same size as lead batteries? What about safety with Lithium batteries? Deciding to cook a 120lbs pig for the non profit organisation called Casa Guatemala, meant we had a big task on our hands. We managed to feed over 100 people here in Rio Dulce, and raised a few hundred dollars for the charity, which goes quite a long way here in Guatemala. We used a rotisserie spit to cook the pig, and had to watch it for 12 hours overnight to be ready for the big lunch. The pig was raised on the farm at Casa Guatemala, and she was actually starting to eat her own piglets so it was her time to go. Casa Guatemala is a non-profit organisation which is now a boarding school in the jungle for all of the villages in the area, and if anyone is looking to do some volunteer work, we can highly recommend considering this organisation, which only charges a one time fee of $300 for long term volunteers. Visit their website at https://casa-guatemala.org SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. Colin and his friend spent 4 months getting her seaworthy, before setting sail across the Caribbean. Follow our journey as we continue to fix her and eventually circumnavigate the globe! If there were ever the most idyllic and picture perfect spot on earth, this would be it! This is by far one of the most beautiful spots we've ever traveled and it felt like the scenery around us MUST be painted in because there is no way it could be real. We take three separate hikes within the Lofotens, one at the very famous Reinebringen, where we climbed over 1,500 steps to get to the top. 24 hour later we were in a much quieter spot all to ourselves and decided Georgie needed to go ashore to do a little exploring. We'd been spending almost every day so far in Norway on the go in one way or another, but there's just too much beauty around to stay put in one place for too long. Much love from Norway!! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. These amazing supporters help keep us on the boat, our camera equipment up to date, and the videos coming. Without our patrons, these videos would not be possible. Despite all the sailing we've done in the past year, this is really our first day sailing around the world. Day 1 will be in Guadaloupe, which will mark the furthest East we sail. From now on we'll be heading West, and the next time we arrive in Guadaloupe we will still be sailing West - which is pretty incredible when you think about it. The only question now is how, which way, and where to next? Click the play button to find out! STORM FOOTAGE: To see more footage from our dangerous sail off the coast of Colombia, click here: https://youtu.be/vzJu17GiN9E To buy Elizabeth's komono, click here!: https://vacaystyle.com PLEASE NOTE: Before a whole bunch of people leave us a comment about putting plastic into the earth, please note that we WILL be back to pick this us. And if we don't, we will put the location online in several Geocache websites for someone else to find. Don't worry, we won't pollute the islands we care about... POSTING DAILY ON SOCIAL: https://www.instagram.com/the_sailing_family/ https://www.facebook.com/the-sailing-family-voyage/ ----------------- ABOUT US: Welcome aboard. We are a family of five sailing around the world on our "dream boat," a performance catamaran named "Archer."  Ten years ago, before kids, we sailed a Lagoon 380 named "Honeymoon" halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences with family and friends via YouTube, and by happenstance created one of the first sailing channels. But more than anything, we realized what an incredible experience that first trip was and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with kids. We want to share with them the importance of taking time to be with family. To show them a world outside of the one they grew up in. We want them to appreciate how lucky we are to experience (and to care for) the natural beauty of this world. But mostly we want to spend time with our kids during these formative years and create lasting memories as a family. That's why we are sharing our videos weekly - thanks for watching! OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specifically designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed and built to withstand the stress of sailing multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It's also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it's backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well. And, she's nice on the eyes too. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal. At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in the South Pacific, and in 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation. PLEASE COMMENT!: As a "family channel," we are required to actively monitor all comments, but we still want to hear from you. Tell us what you think! THANKS for watching all. Subscribe right now and never miss an episode!
