This week we show you a real day in the life sailing around the world. We are in the remote Atoll of Fakarava, leaving with our last supplies of food and beer, saving the most fresh water we can and facing some night equals. Talking like this it seems terrible, but it’s great because we had the most amazing experience diving with hundreds of sharks in the South Pass of Fakarava and enjoy fresh bread made by the captain at this freaking beautiful anchorage. *** NEW WEBSITE - NOW LIVE *** (August 2020) If you'd like to know more about us, our plans, our boat and this adventure, then be sure to check out our new website here: https://www.cluelessyachties.com This is our Covid-19 (Corona Virus) lock down diary. For the sake of our own sanity, we're going to share how we're getting on, our plans to deal with the crazy situation that nearly all of us find ourselves in, and what we plan to do in order to make the best out of a bad situation. Hopefully for anyone else who finds themselves going a bit bananas during this global pandemic, these videos are a place to come and stay in touch with other like minded folks and together we can mentally help each other through these crazy times. ******** Disclaimer********** Our 'Corona Lockdown Diaries' videos will have almost NO sailing content whatsoever, so if you're not interested in how we're getting on in this moment and just want to catch up with the sailing escapades, that's cool, no worries but right now it looks like it'll be a while until we're back out there, as will be the case for most of us, but we'll see you again when this has all blown over, just ignore the videos branded with 'lockdown diaries' 😂. ******************************

We discover one of the rockiest anchorages yet! We sail around the corner to Colombier, where it’s less crowded and less rocky and rolly of an anchorage. This bay was once owned by the Rockefellars. We were able to get a hike in on the island and see the goats that live here. Lots of baby goats, which made Brandy very happy. Hope you enjoy this episode! We replaced every Thru Hull and Seacock on Sunday with TruDesign. This is a simple step by step guide on how we did it. --- Before you start --- Your existing seacocks should have the size printed into it, 1/2" or 1/4" or 1 1/4" etc... All you need to do is write down these sizes and order the new parts. TruDesigns website (Below) is very helpful and easy to navigate to find all the fittings needed. Tools & Materials Required: Safety Gear, Grinder, Silicone Gun, Scraper, Spanner and/or Multi-Grips, Hammer, Fine Sandpaper, Sander, Drill with small grinding stone (not essential), SIKA 291i, some old bung plugs, Turps and old rags. STEP 1: Using your grinder, carefully grind off all the old thru hull fittings as seen in this video. Then wiggle loose inside the boat while gently tapping an old bung plug into it from the outside until it releases from the hull. STEP 2: Scrape off the excess sealant and then sand either by hand or using a small mouse sander. I used fine sandpaper and along with a small grinding stone in my drill to gently clean excess sealant around the inside of the hole. Bring it back to gelcoat ready for the new thru-hull fittings. STEP 3: Remind yourself why you're doing this! STEP 4: Test fit your new thru hulls are correct before gluing down, if you have trouble fitting them you can remove the handle for installation and screw back on once completed. You may need to adjust a few things eg, measure and cut your thru hull fitting for the correct fitment depending on your hull thickness. You can use a hacksaw to cut them down, I used a grinder. STEP 5: Clean all the surfaces and thru- hulls with turps ready for install and apply your sealant, we used SIKA 291i throughout the whole process. Put a small amount around the ring of your thru-hull fitting and push in with a slight twist clockwise. From the inside, I put a small amount around the base then installed the washer and nut hand tight. Finally cleaned off any excess and left to dry overnight. STEP 6: Don't stress! STEP 7: Tighten the final turn the following day. STEP 8: Connect your seacocks by using SIKA 291i or any other sealant you choose. Don't be shy, put a good amount around the thread and tighten up your seacock to the desired position and leave to dry. Repeat the process when screwing on all your fittings, and use 2 new hose clamps on all hose connections. We used SIKA 291i throughout the process, but you can also use 3M 5200, 5200 fast cure, Loctite 5331, or plumbers tape on the threads. We did it all at once and left it all to dry, but you can put the seacocks on first leave to dry then connect the hoses up the following day. FINAL STEP: Grab a Beer you've earned it!!! ---- TRU DESIGN ----- https://www.trudesign.nz. The though hull fittings and seacocks we used were from TruDesign made in New Zealand. For more information check out their website! We have heard great things about them across many countries and now after installing them, we highly recommend them ourselves! ---- LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE ---- If you like our videos please show your support, like and subscribe to see our weekly videos every Sunday morning following our adventure with our German Shepherd Jackson and rescue kitten Finn sailing around the world. ----- PATREON ----- https://www.patreon.com/sailingsunday Come join the crew on PATREON! We didn't expect to be able to continue shopping for our cruising catamaran due to the pandemic but with some strict social distancing we were able to look over this 2001 Lagoon 410 Cruising Catamaran. We have our sights on a Leopard 400 located in Florida but with the way things are going right now we don't have high hopes to take a tour for a while. Regardless we were excited to see this Lagoon 410 cruising catamaran and we will be keeping an eye on the price as we reasonably expect it to fall. Dr. Michelle Savu, Deputy Chair of Surgery at Beijing United Family Healthcare BJUC, interviews Dr. Babak Javid who is an Infectious Disease Expert at Tsinghua University in Beijing which is considered the Harvard of China. In this revealing and informative interview which is part one of a multiple-part series, they discuss how China's recent aggressive, protective and draconian COVID-19 pandemic policies of coronavirus containment combined with banning foreign nationals from China for an indefinite period of time are destined to isolate China as an island from the rest of the world until a vaccine is finally developed which could take more than 18 months. This is big news for foreign nationals currently in China and even bigger for those wishing to return, but cannot. The reason for the banning of foreign nationals is because this containment policy has resulted in a relatively low rate of infection of their overall population which has resulted in a lack of acquired herd immunity, leaving them as one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to COVID-19 back spreading or reintroduction of the virus by outsiders. Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY? In this sailing video we arrive in Bahamas with a broken dagger board just before the country is locked down to prevent a Covid-19 outbreak. Pierre comes up with a short-term solution to the problem of the broken dagger board. We anchor off Thompson Bay, Long Island Bahamas to and adjust to life on a boat without going ashore. Unable to walk the dog, Tiller swims for exercise. View of sunsets show a tranquil place to wait out Covid-19 pandemic. Our plans to wait out a pandemic here are working out. But for how long???? Covid 19-Update The Bahamas has a "shelter in place" type order that started March 24 at 9 am. The goal is to protect the islands where Covid-19 has not yet spread because of the vulnerable population with lack of enough doctors and medical facilities, especially on the outer, less populated islands. As of today, April 2, there are 21 Covid-19 positive cases identified: 18 on New Providence and 3 on Grand Bahama. One of the New Providence cases is was a sick individual transferred to New Providence from Bimini. We agree with the actions of the Prime Minster to prevent spread, and we stay on our boat. Only grocery stores are open, and restrictions on going to grocery stores is expected by the end of the week. that the Prime Minister. The time to go home is fast approaching and we plan to start to make our way north. Join Peter and Tom sailing California, Mexico and the Sea of Cortez! In this episode we check into a marina and repair our dodgy dodger, before sailing Bohemia out of town to a nearby anchorage, where we get the experience of a lifetime, SWIMMING WITH WILD SEA LIONS! We were sure to keep our distance as these are wild animals, but they were so friendly and curious and came over to greet us! If you like our videos and want to support Bohemia's bar tab, you can make a contribution at http://www.patreon.com/sailingbohemia. Peter and Tom are gay sailors who learned to sail relatively recently in the San Francisco Bay, before casting off the lines to cruise Mexico and sail around the world! Thank you!

It can feel lonely, left out & down right depressing just going through our daily routines & catching any spare time the kids would have for us. Well, we decided to do something about that, we set off on a journey around Australia in our RV until karma had other plans. Our lives took a different direction after this, which allowed us to grab a lifetime dream that we didn’t think was ever possible but in reality, it was. Please join two boomers as we embark on our new chapter & how we manage life & family from our MacIntosh 47’ sailboat heading home to Australia.
