According to Trip Advisor, the #1 thing to do in the Dominican Republic is trekking the 27 Waterfalls of Rio Damajagua in Puerto Plata. Ironically, Hale had told us the #1 thing he wanted to do on our voyage was just that - "to jump off a waterfall." Well, now he had his chance! But it was really Pierce who showed us just how fierce he can be. He became the youngest person to have ever jumped off the largest cliff at the age of 5. Speaking of which, if we're really honest, this is probably not the best thing to do with younger kids. Some of the cliffs were quite narrow, and although they hand you a life jacket and a helmet, there is still plenty of opportunities to severely injure yourself. And this is not a place you would want to get hurt as it's quite a hike in to the waterfalls. We'd recommend it for families with kids 10 and older... Check out our Instagram page for daily updates (real time). We're sharing there how we are dealing with the COVID-19 Outbreak as we continue to try and live aboard. Click here for the latest update: https://www.instagram.com/p/B-f66yLA8r9/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link POSTING DAILY ON SOCIAL: https://www.instagram.com/the_sailing_family/ https://www.facebook.com/the-sailing-family-voyage/ ----------------- ABOUT US: Welcome aboard. We are a family of five sailing around the world on our "dream boat," a performance catamaran named "Archer." Ten years ago, before kids, we sailed a Lagoon 380 named "Honeymoon" halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences with family and friends via YouTube, and by happenstance created one of the first sailing channels. But more than anything, we realized what an incredible experience that first trip was and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with kids. We want to share with them the importance of taking time to be with family. To show them a world outside of the one they grew up in. We want them to appreciate how lucky we are to experience (and to care for) the natural beauty of this world. But mostly we want to spend time with our kids during these formative years and create lasting memories as a family. That's why we are sharing our videos weekly - thanks for watching! OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specifically designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed and built to withstand the stress of sailing multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It's also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it's backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well. And, she's nice on the eyes too. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal. At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in the South Pacific, and in 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation. PLEASE COMMENT!: As a "family channel," we are required to actively monitor all comments, but we still want to hear from you. Tell us what you think! THANKS for watching all. Subscribe right now and never miss an episode!

After the news of my job loss, it was hard to get motivated to anything, but I had to push myself so I started with cleaning - our bikes (well, that was really Brown HA!), the apartment (2.5 months of NO cleaning), and my CV! But, in the midst of a day of "hard" labor, a friend dropped off an amazing gift of chocolate in a variety of forms and it MADE my day! Nothing like a little chocolate coma to get you through a difficult time! #china #qingdao #covid19 #coronavirus #quarantine #quarantinelife NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US?

+17 Notte intensa. Siamo circondati di piattaforme e nave in rotta o in attesa. Sembra irraggiungibile e i bordi quasi piatti. Ma poi riusciamo a raggiungere il traguardo dell'arrivo che tagliamo qualche seconde prima di Mojie, un barca partito una settimana prima di noi. Ecco...Siamo arrivati!

Our family sailing adventure continues with the Sailing Kids on day 3 of the summer holiday trip, as the Covid-19 / Coronavirus pandemic is well underway, Blake also discusses his thoughts on the current situation, including what our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told us to do. After sailing from Kawau Island to Waiheke, Blake and Toby sailing anchor at Man O’ War bay on Waiheke Island. Unfortunately they leave their cousins, but have a lot of fun at the Man O’ War winery, playing games and then having an epic beach run. Toby lost the first run, his dad should had realised that winning the race possibly wasn’t the best idea… Toby cried at the end of the race, so we followed up with a second beach run and Toby won the race. That night we realised dad had lost his wallet at the winery, so we went back to shore the next day on the dinghy / tender and luckily got it back thanks to the nice staff on the day. We then finish by continuing on our summer holiday sailing trip to the Coromandel. See you next time! Like many of you, we are in lockdown in NZ, we missed releasing an episode last week because of this. Fortunately we have a lot of content to see us through for a while! We will continue to talk about Covid-19 and the coronavirus pandemic, but in a real positive way in terms of family life, adapting to the situation and just enjoying the simple life. Please subscribe. We are two brothers, aged 4 and 7, who love going on sailing family adventures - exploring the outdoors and finding super cool wild animals, bugs and marine life. So along with our parents, we’re sailing the world, exploring islands, and looking for interesting wildlife. We start our adventure sailing New Zealand but dream of sailing around the Mediterranean some day. We love our planet and want to look after our environment, so through our travels we hope other kids will feel inspired to care for our planet and wildlife too. This week as we practice "Social Distancing" we get a little. stir crazy inside and just need to get out of the house and into the yard, or the boat, or something. So we do just that. I do a tad bit of work around the house trimming bushes and reward ourselves with a nice little boat ride out in Boca Grande Pass into the Gulf of Mexico. We also went on over to Cabbage Key to take a look around and the Cabbage Key Inn we open for takeout only. I take my hats off to them, they were doing it right. For those that don't know, Cabbage key is an island in Gasparillo sound and no roads get there, so the only way is by boat. Typically you can go to Cabbage Key Inn, Bar and Restaurant, but they had people out on the docks greeting boats to let them know that they were open but would take the order there on the dock and bring the food down to your boat. You were asked to leave after getting you food so there was no gathering. They even covered every other slip and pylon with caution tape so that all boats had to be at least 10-15 feet apart. If you asked to use the restroom, they only allowed 2 people into the actual restaurant at a time to use the restroom. If you wanted to go to the gift shop, which is where they were running the credit cards and taking the cash payments from the people in their boats, they would only let 3 people in at a time from the same party. They really were doing it right. The girls all got cheeseburgers, Deb got Salmon and I ordered boiled cold shrimp. They brought it all out to the boat, along with disposable wipes and we slowly worked our way south on the ICW toward Lower Usepe Island. The girls all ate in the back of the boat while I peeled and ate shrimp while driving. We did a little circumnavigation of Upper and Lower Usepe and then headed back to Boca Grande and up Charlotte Harbor almost to the Peace River. On the way up, we saw some dolphins so I stopped and turned around, put the boat in neutral and coasted while the dolphins, 6-10 of them, played all around the boat. While we were watching them I swatted a little bee buzzing around the boat. (Keep in mind we were a good mile from shore in any direction) and then another one came by and stung the little one on her finger. While Deb tended to her, I went to kill the bee that they stunned and Chasity told me, "There are a bunch of them." Sure enough there were a bunch of them buzzing around the boat. I had everyone take their seat and we high tailed it from that spot. It was the strangest thing I have seen that far from shore. From there we cruised on back home and had a great trip and good day outing. In the days before the quarantine fully set in, we got out for Swirls first two trips, both in very light winds, but enjoyable non-the-less. Liking and most importantly subscribing is crucial to our channel visibility right now, please consider doing both :) Now more than ever becoming a member at Patreon makes a huge difference in our ability to keep Swirl afloat and thriving. https://www.patreon.com/svswirl Music courtesy of epidemicsound.com
