This episode we say goodbye to Cartagena, Colombia and sail west towards the San Blas Islands of Panama. We have a great overnight sail to the islands, where we first do a little boatwork before setting off and exploring these fairly remote and beautiful islands... The San Blas is an island chain comprised of over 360 little islands and they are home to an indigenous tribe called the Guna Yala. These islands are well respected in the sailing and cruising community and the beautiful first island we land at shows us just why that is! We will he cruising these island for a few weeks before setting sail further west towards the Panamá Canal.

After 42 days of travelling the USA, we made it to the delta of the Mississippi which we really look forward to. When we took the tram into the city of New Orleans we ended up in a heavy summer rain which resulted in some hilarious and unforgettable moments. We got soaked but after buying some ponchos and towels we were ready to explore the city. We treated ourself on the famous New Orleans oysters and we tasted alligator for the first time. In the evening we did a beautiful sunset dinner cruise along the Mississippi River on one of the well-known river steamboats. We danced into the night on the never-ending jazzy tunes. Le confinement est déjà instauré depuis quelques jours, on ne sait plus, on ne compte pas, on est perdu, quel jour on est ? Est-ce que c'est l'heure de manger, de prendre l'apéro, de se détendre. Bref le confinement nous pousse à faire des choses que l'on aurait pas fait ou même eu l'idée de faire. Et pour nous c'est, par exemple, se baigner dans le port en bravant les interdits. Pour notre défense, il n'y a pas de navigation, pas de navire qui sortent ou rentrent, tout est immobile, donc le risque est nul. En plus nous sommes en combinaison étanche donc nous ne craignons pas le froid. Et ça nous aère l'esprit quelques minutes. Wieder einmal ist eine Woche am Boot schnell vorbei gegangen und wir sind nicht ganz so weit gekommen, wie wir eigentlich wollten. Das Gelshield haben wir ohne Probleme aufgetragen bekommen. Für den Coppercoat waren die Temperaturen allerdings einfach zu niedrig. Also heißt es abwarten...wie bei so vielem in unserer aller Leben gerade... : )
