La monotonie de notre environnement est rehaussée uniquement par le relief des cumulus et la proéminence des vagues. Tout est moite, le dernier grain à 40 nœuds a soulevé une mer nerveuse qui a recouvert le pont d’un chlorure de sodium collant et poisseux. Cyril l’avait senti venir celui-ci, dix minutes avant qu’il nous agresse, il avait mené une opération de prise d’un deuxième ris ! Bien lui en soit fait à mon prévenant commandant de bord. Comme il me le dit toujours, mieux vaut anticiper, cela nous évitera de nous retrouver dans des situations désagréables et de faire forcer le bateau. Malgré toutes ses préventions, notre vaillant Lion fournit un gros effort et contre vents et courants, courageusement, nous fait progresser. Nous sommes aux 4º25'163 S, 60º29'610 E, 110 milles vers l’Ouest-sud-ouest. À chaque cataracte, pour éviter de se faire brutaliser, pas d’autre choix que nous mettre en fuite. Et nous repartons à contre-sens, en éliminant désespéramment notre avancée des heures précédentes ! « Des heures », c’est bien exagéré car depuis douze heures, nous en sommes à notre onzième grain ! Et quand les odieux ne frôlent pas les moustaches de notre Black Lion, s’est pour lui frôler les poils du cul ! Cet indien est bien patelin, il s’est fait faussement aimable, nous a flatter pour mieux nous miner ! Mais qu’il ne s’y méprenne, nous nous sommes blindés et pour pallier à l’abattement, nous avons notre remède, la rigolade ! Avec mon plaisantin, pas besoin de nous forcer, il trouve toujours à tourner en dérision notre situation et je préfère grandement le voir comme ça et non en perpétuel stress comme à notre première traversée. Faut dire que notre canot fait tout pour nous rendre notre voyage aussi sécuritaire que possible. Avec ses redans, il repousse les vagues trop batailleuses et les empêche de déferler hargneusement sur nous. Avec celle-ci, un peu trop culminante, il n’a pu rien faire mais nous ne lui en voulons pas, elle était bien trop importune. En un coup, elle nous a submergé pour stigmatiser tout le bimini de dégoulinades saumâtres ! À dix-neuf-heures trente, Cyril douteux d’une amélioration pour la nuit, reprend une météo. La problématique est la suivante, en voulant essayer d’atteindre au moins une des dernières îles des Seychelles pour au moins nous reposer une nuit ou deux, le vent nord-ouest nous oblige à naviguer au près serré et cette allure rebute mon skipper qui souffre pour son bateau. Les Grib sont sans appel, cette direction du vent va se maintenir encore trois jours. Trois jours d’acharnement pour une nuit de mouillage, l’ébauche est vite abandonnée, nous mettons cap au 188º ! 30º plein sud, direction les Mascareignes à un jour et demi, ensuite en prévision, le vent doit diminuer jusqu’à pétole avant de passer Nord-est, ce qui ne semble pas trop mal pour poursuivre jusqu’à Mada. Immédiatement, le confort s’en ressent, nous sommes moins brassés, nous nous sentons plus sereins et là vous n’allez pas me croire ! Au moment où nous pensons passer une nuit plus tranquille, que voit-on ? Un bateau… C’est exacerbant ! À croire que nous avons dépassé notre quota de tranquillité ! Il est à 6 milles et se dirige direct sur nous, mais cette fois j’ai mon idée. Nous sortons les masques et je simulerai être très contagieuse…

But, there were many beachfront areas that were not under any kind of regulations. Many locals were out in large groups without masks and clearly not feeling angst about a second wave of the virus. Perhaps that is because the borders are closed to foreigners and the incoming Chinese nationals are serving their 21-day quarantines at state-run facilities. After three weeks, multiple nasal/throat/anal Covid tests, the government is quite confident that the person released will not be a threat to their family or the community. How long will this last? Here you will see the two first weeks of our quarantine. We couldn’t have imagined that sailing around the world will look like this, but you have to play by the rules. We wake up, we take care of our bodies with a Gowod mobility routine. Our first meal is around 12 am, Tara already ate by then, but we wait between 12 and 16 hours between the last meal of the day and the first meal the next day. This is called intermittent fasting. It helps your body eliminate toxins and stay healthy. Our way of preventing disease. You will see playtime with Tara and some work as well. Since putting episodes together is a full time job. To finish the day we decide to do a well known CrossFit workout: Karen. It consists of executing 150 wall-ball shots as fast as possible. Since Tara is « training » with us, we had to adapt it, and we did 300 repetitions 10 by 10, one is exercising, while the other one is watching for Tara. That’s all folks. Wir sind in der Ägäis angekommen und segeln rund um Attica bis Porto Rafti, weil wir zu den nördlichen Sporaden wollen, Martin, Sabinas Bruder repariert unsere Segelschoner an der Saling. In der Bucht unterhalb des Tempels von Sounion warten wir ein Wetterfenster ab, damit wir weiter nach Porto Rafti fahren können.

Sorry for the long time between video's but the world went mad and my work at Channel 7 became more important than ever. Anyway. Step back in time to the olden golden days, where we find an island paradise, Mari gets struck down by fish poisoning, we search for mythical waterfalls, the chilly fiend gets his just deserts, and the pizzeria opens its doors! "Greedy Guts" would have been a good alternative title for this video. We are really enjoying our tucker in this one.... enjoy.... D+M

This week we finish the staircase for Swabby's bunk beds. She wanted to have a staircase rather than ladder. I thought it sounded like a fun little project. I then talked about having this cool way to change the color of the lights and make them voice activated. She loved the idea, so I had to then do it. Shheesh, me and my big mouth. Es geht los….Götakanal wir kommen. Für den ersten Tag haben wir es ruhig angehen lassen und sind erst um 10:30 Uhr in die erste Schleuse. Nach 8 Schleusen haben wir einen Tag Pause in Lyrestad gemacht. Nach weiteren 11 Schleusen sind wir in Töreboda angekommen. Alle Schleusen und Brücken wurden von 9:00 – 18:00 Uhr bedient. Wir hatten kaum Wartezeit. Meist haben die Brücken geöffnet, kaum dass wir davorstanden. Part of my journey will not only being prepared physically and ensuring that Wahine is in proper working order, but also to mentally prepare. A large part of the mental readiness will be coping with the loneliness and difficulties of prolonged isolation while at sea. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago.
