Plan B in action As we are forced to change our plans in terms of delivery dates for our new lagoon 46. New opportunities are presented to us and we go for it. Our new delivery date will be mid 2021 and we are excited to take the time to travel and discover the USA in a safe new way during this difficult times. We will go cross country on a new Mercedes Sprinter made by #midwestautodesign and enjoy the #vanlife for a little while on our spare time. We were introduced to the Hashers and Hash Runs (by Paul, one of the hares on this run) while living in Qingdao and while we are not big fans of all of the activities of the Hashers, we certainly enjoy the trail, challenge of the day, and camaraderie! Today's hash run was extra special as we had a friend visiting from Shanghai (We worked together in Dubai four years ago) and it was her first hash run and our last hash run in Qingdao. We could not have asked for better weather and the clear blue skies aided our 360 degree views even as far as Huangdao! Our double trek through the village is most memorable as the second pass resulted in a fight between one of our hashers and a local villager who almost hit (with his car) Brown first and then me. The fact that he stopped after brushing against me seemed to indicate he was looking for a confrontation of sorts; he was not apologetic! One of our group members defended us which led to a fight by this hasher, a chase and an attempt to escape, a village beating and a fine negotiated by his brother to be set free. We are thankful for Gavin and Paul, the evil hares, who seemed to relish in our suffering especially in the dark! Most recreational trawlers, like the Nordhavn 40 featured in this film, use hydraulics for steering. The system needs to be checked regularly; hoses must remain intake, fittings tight and the entire assembly regularly reviewed for reliability. Since many owners rely on their autopilot the majority of the time and rarely hand steer, it is easy to forget and overlook the reservoir. Part of your pre-departure routine should be to check the reservoir for air pressure and oil level. Look for any oil drips and also go to the lazarette to inspect the plumbing lines, the steering ram and all related hardware. The Hynautic brand has a cylinder reservoir which has a threaded fill cap, a Schrader air pressure valve (bicycle inner tube type) and viewing windows to monitor oil level. We recommend you test your steering at the dock before departing. It’s easier to fix a problem if you are still tied up. The independence to travel remotely in a trawler requires self-sufficiency and some hands-on skills. Every successfully completed chore builds more confidence and you will become more proficient each time you repeat a lesson you have learned before. In diesem Video geht es um die Liontron Lithium LiFePO4 LX Smart BMS, eine Lithium-Batterie für Camper, Boote und Yachten. Wir haben für unsere Segelyacht Mystra eine Liontron 12,8V mit 100Ah gekauft und in diesem Test schauen wir uns an wie es mit dem Einbau aussieht und sich Batterie und Apps in der Praxis schlagen! Wir werfen beim Testen ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die Performance der vorhandenen Lade-Infrastruktur, die man laut Hersteller 1 zu 1 weiter betreiben kann. Dabei kommen ein Landstrom-Ladegerät, die Lichtmaschine und ein MPPT-Solar-Laderegler zum Einsatz. Warum haben wir uns für eine Lithium-Eisenphosphat Batterie entschieden? Der Akku ist wesentlich leistungsfähiger als eine Bleibatterie, bei der nur 30-50% nutzbar sind, wenn man die Lebensdauer der Batterie nicht negativ beeinflussen will. Zudem verspricht der Akku eine wesentlich Längere Haltbarkeit, es sind 5 Jahre Garantie drauf und defekte Zellen können vom Hersteller einzeln ersetzt werden. Fällt eine Zelle also aus, muss nicht gleich ein ganz neuer Akku angeschafft werden! Die Lithium-Eisenphosphat Batterie hat ein eingebautes Batteriemanagement (BMS), das Schutz vor Über- und Unterladung bietet. O segundo dia de regatas da Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela - Virtual Edition foi disputado na noite desta quarta-feira (29) e definiu os classificados para as provas finais. A competição online, primeira da história do evento, ocorre por meio do simulador Virtual Regatta na versão Inshore e conta com 76 participantes de todo o Brasil. Após cinco provas, o líder no geral é Lucas Dantas, de Brasília (DF), com o perfil @LucasRD. O velejador venceu três regatas ao todo e é seguido de perto na tabela pelo conterrâneo Allan Godoy do perfil @GodoyLaser. As semifinais e a grande final serão realizadas nesta quinta-feira (30), a partir de 19h. A decisão será na Baía de Guanabara, no Rio de Janeiro (RJ). “As finais de amanhã serão super disputadas e imprevisíveis, pois os jogadores não carregarão os resultados construídos na fase classificatória”. “Não haverá margem para erro. Portanto, em razão desse tipo de configuração de campeonato, não há previsão para a súmula de amanhã. Contudo, estou empolgado e confiante para desenvolver o meu melhor resultado, pois durante o isolamento social, tenho me dedicado bastante aos treinos virtuais”, disse Lucas Dantas. No grupo de WhatsApp Virtual Regatta Brasil, os amigos e adversários de Lucas Dantas garantem que o garoto treina todos os dias e não perde uma sala aberta. Alguns dizem até que ele não pisca para não perder uma rodada. Tudo em forma de elogio. “Estou treinando em torno de 3 horas por dia. Acho legal isso, pois tira o tédio dessa quarentena”, explicou Lucas Dantas. As regatas desta quarta-feira foram realizadas nas raias virtuais de Newport (EUA), Porto Cervo (Itália) e Maiorca (Espanha). O evento tem realização do Yacht Club de Ilhabela e organização da Tribu Live Marketing e Full Time Eventos e Turismo, e transmissão RCE Digital. Nous avons passé 20 jours au début 2020 dans les îles vierges britanniques, connues sous le nom de BVI (British Virgin Islands). Nous avons fait le tour complet de l'archipel sans avoir pu visiter tous les lieux car il aurait fallu rester plusieurs mois pour faire tous les mouillages ! Nous étions avec un couple d'amis que nous avons récupéré à St Martin et nous avons bien profité pour visiter et faire du snorkling ce qui explique le peu d'images de notre séjour. Nous avons été déçus par les fonds marins qui ont été largement détruits par le cyclone Irma en 2017. Les BVI étaient connues pour être l'aquarium des Antilles du Nord et on s'attendait à voir plein de poissons ce qui n'a pas été le cas.

Today's vlog: we face some challenges at the end of our trip from Sudan to Djibouti. As we passed trough the Bab el Mandeb straight the wind increases significantly and a rope gets stuck in the furling system. Our engine needed an emergency repair already on the first day of the trip, and we aren't sure yet if its safe to use. Enjoy 3 to 4 dives daily as we move from island to island. Dive on untouched walls and reefs abounding in marine life. The north is a macro photographer's dream with nudibranchs, colorful blennies, dancing jawfish, and sea horses. Encounter large and small whale species, snorkel with whale sharks, see jumping mobula rays, and dive with playful sea lion colonies. As we go south, dive on wrecks, Fan Ming and Salvaterra, do a night dive with mobula rays, and we are seeing schooling hammerheads and giant manta rays again. Last year guests even got to snorkel with an orca. If you wish to hike the remote islands during surface intervals, there is always a dingy available to take you to shore. We also have kayaks to take a serene cruise around the islands. Between activities get spoiled with amazing meals and the best crew in the industry.
