Day two of the RS Aero National Championships 2020 brought slightly less breeze but some tricky shifts, steep chop and bands of pressure to keep sailors on their toes.

In this episode of Sailing A B Sea we arrive at D-Marin Marina at Didim, Turkey and contact a couple of technicians. The first tech discovers that our outboard motor carburetor is clogged by dirty fuel and hauls it away for cleaning. We ask the second tech "Is our alternator working correctly?" He says it is, but the old diode battery isolator has a fault and is not properly charging all three battery banks. He can't find a replacement locally so after 3 days we leave the marina and head for Bodrum where we hope to get the replacement parts that we need. For your convenience, we’ve included Amazon links. Er nennt es sein „Niemandsland“. Der Professor ist zum Piraten geworden, verfolgt und vogelfrei. Kummer nimmt sein Schicksal an. Mit grenzenlosem Optimismus und einer großen Portion Selbstironie erlebt er die „schönste Quarantäne der Welt“. Dann meldet sich ein mysteriöser Vermittler. Hat der Mann wirklich Verbindungen in höchste diplomatische Kreise oder ist er ein Scharlatan? Das Schicksal des deutschen Wirtschaftsprofessors aus Wien bewegte die Menschen. Aus seinem Versteck gab Kummer Dutzende Interviews für Zeitungen und Magazine, Radiosender und Fernsehstationen in Europa. In der Türkei schaffte er es auf die Titelseite der „Hürriyet“. Due to storm Ellen we spend a week in Abercorn Basin, Belfast hiding from the wind. We did not manage to avoid the rain however and did get very wet. Whilst here we hired a car and explored the northern coast. We visited The Giants Causeway and Ballintoy harbour, where some parts of Game of Thrones were filmed. Once the storm had blown itself out we set sail for Scotland. We are so happy to be sharing this experience with you as we have dreamt of sailing to Scotland for some years. Lake Garda is one of the best sailing locations in the world. What makes that venue so great for sailing is the thermic wind. Especially on sunny summer days you can start your day sailing with the north wind called "vento". This wind usually dies at around 11 o'clock, leaving you enough time for a quick pasta party at the club. On the afternoon the wind changes direction and starts again, then called "ora" and this are by far the best sailing conditions you can think of. But before you can start your training you have to make your way through, what I call, layers of skill. First you have the novice windsurfers in the bay of torbole. Then you have the, last week I went to surf school group or pros who want to impress girls at the beach. The next group are good windsurfers and groups of regatta sailors followed by some kite surfers. To be honest sometimes it's a bit crowded. Not to say you can walk across the lake without getting your feet wet. But after all this effort there is enough room for us foiling sailors because we are quick enough to make our way half way up to Malcesine in the blink of an eye. February 2019 We arrived in Emerald Bay with no working drive generator. After the week-long front finished cycling its way through the Exumas, we fixed the once-again-clogged fuel lines and left Emerald Bay, with its notorious entry, and sailed down to Georgetown, Bahamas to finally meet up with friends and do some much needed socializing. Episode 140: As time is flying by and the clock is ticking, we are starting to feel the pressure to leave South Africa. The travel ban provincially has been lifted in South Africa and it's only about time that the you will be able to travel internationally, which means we have to get Lady Africa's butt into gear and get her prepped and ready for the day that we can leave (weather dependent as well obviously..) Before we got started on the bigger tasks we needed to do the smaller ones.. meaning give the boat a thorough wash! (There was still manganese coming off) 😂 Cleaned the shower bilge pump & finish all the varnishing I had to do. Next tasks was one I required Ricky's knowledge for.. converting our toilet to a salt water toilet.. (YAY let's save water) We still have the option of fresh water when we are in marina's or in places where we don't really want to flush our toilet with the provided water (estuaries etc) Then we got down to installing our accumulater tank so that we could minimize the strain on our fresh water pump that supplies our galley as we all know how quickly those pressure switches go on water pumps. We just need to install one in our head and all will be well. We got a few other things completed to but you'll just have to wait and see in our next episode what that exactly is.. See ya next week!! Have we ever mentioned that we absolutely love our Mantus Anchor ;-) !! Total mayhem followed when a quick storm blew through our anchorage. Boats all around us were dragging anchors like crazy, dinghies flipping and cushions flying everywhere. We had a total of 8 lines plus our anchor out and SISU stayed put through it all. YAY for MANTUS. We were also privileged to spot and film a very rare Mediterranean Monk Seal, feasting on a mantes ray right in front of Sisu.
