So with the forecast showing 10-15 from the North we decide to leave Shotley marina and pop around the corner into the River Deben. Turned out to be 25+ and bumpy, but once we dropped sails and put the motor on the family was much happier and the journey went well. Getting into the river is always nerve raking but once in, we had a lovely sail up to Woodbridge, and spent a night in the Tidemill marina If you would like to leave a comment and find that YouTube has disabled them again on this film, then please take a look at the community tab on our page. In this weeks episode, we sail to a place called Playa Venao in Panama, to surf and have a good time, but end up having a nightmare when our dinghy drags its anchor and ends up flipping in the surf. We scramble to save it, and end up with it on the beach in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, someone comes to the rescue with a pickup truck, and we manage to drive it over to the calm side of the bay to see if it will start.... SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. We left the wine region of Murcia and headed our way more south, driving through Granada into the Sierra Nevada. It was mid summer and there was almost no snow, the weather was nice, the views were stunning, and the sunsets were gorgeous. After a quick stop in Sevilla, to buy a new bike tyre, we drove to Portugal. The beaches in the Aljezur area are long and the waves always attract a lot of surfers. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach in Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony with our 4 kids, just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted.
