We dive Rainbow Reef and the Northwind Tug on the west end of St. Croix, USVI. We dropped into the crystal clear blue waters off the stern of our 46' Sailboat "Sweet Ruca" to explore the waters around St. Croix. This video is two dives put together into one movie. The first part is Rainbow Reef. It is located in approximately 40 feet of water just a few hundred yards off the coast. Home to some very amazing coral, we see parrot fish, trumpet fish, sea turtles, and more. In the second half of the video we explore the Northwind Tugboat wreck. It is part of a group of shallow wrecks called the Shallow Wrecks at Butler Bay. We hop directly off the back of the sailboat and have to navigate in the current 300 yards or more and find the wreck in open water. It was worth the hunt. Located in about 55 feet of water, at 75 feet long, the Northwind was stripped and sunk in 1986 as an artificial reef. Episode 143 : So the borders are going to start opening up the 1st of October which hopefully means Namibia will be following which means we can leave soon, but first we got some boat tasks to complete because we really don't want to have to pay double for things we could have gotten cheaper here if we were just more patient. We got our new battery from BLUE NOVA & boy were we excited. The amount of power we have on the boat is kind of ridiculous right now 🤪 I haven't seen our batteries drop below 95% since we installed them but we are gonna be thankful once that radar and autopilot have to work non stop for our trek to Namibia. Everything looks so.. not complicated anymore😆 One of our tasks was to change our existing solid water tank hatches to one that we can actually see through. We opted not to go for water tank gauges because... some times its just less complicated to keep things simple. I had to repair our dinghy as well from that one time we opted to use it as a jacuzzi and pumped it up way to much.. it was a minor tear though on the floor board so nothing a but of pvc glue can't fix. We believe that muck diving in Mabul, Malaysia at Scuba Junkie Dive Resort is the best in the world! And, that is no surprise given its location; the Coral Triangle is a triangular area located in the western Pacific Ocean and hosts an astonishing amount of marine life. Seventy-five percent of the world’s coral species are found here—nearly 600 different species. Over 2000 different types of reef fish find refuge in these dazzling underwater gardens, and this is an important place for tuna to spawn. Whales, dolphins, porpoises, dugongs and whale sharks feed, breed and migrate in these waters. And the Coral Triangle is home to six of the world’s seven species of marine turtles. Given Mabul’s location in the coral triangle, it is not a surprise that it boasts a wide variety of macro marine creatures and a proliferation of sea life we have not seen anywhere else in the world. New DFMGD1 Rudder servo installed in a DF95 Just bore out the 1st hole on the arm just a bit with a file or anything about 1.5mm wide, so the swivel moves freely. Use a tiny drop of glue to secure the nut on the bolt, but be sure to keep glue off the bolt so the swivel still moves freely! Always make sure that the swivel on the rudder arm inside the boat , and on the rudder post move easily ( we suggest using a couple drops of SpeedX)

Nous avons mouillé en face de Hog Island qui est des trous à cyclone de Grenade. C'est aussi une île connue pour son bar sur la plage le Roger's Barefoot bar. Le dimanche après-midi, la plage est remplie de navigateurs et de locaux qui viennent passer un bon moment et parfois écouter de la musique Live.  Nous avons profité d'une belle matinée ou il n'y avait personne pour faire le tour de l'île.

Teil 3 der Dokutainment Trilogie „Die Route der Wikinger“ führt von den Åland-Inseln in die finnischen Schären und in das dortige Wikinger Museum in Rosala. Nach 4 Wochen auf Tournee an der deutschen Ostseeküste geht es auf der alten Route weiter bis nach Tallinn, wo dann der lange und aufregende Rückweg über Estland, Lettland und Gotland beginnt, wo weitere Spuren der Wikinger zu finden sind. Der Film zeigt neben der eigentlichen Reise und den spektakulären Landschaften und Orten Skandinaviens auch wieder die Emotionen meiner langen Auszeit, das Leben und die sagenhafte Mythologie der Wikinger. Und bringt mit Weltumsegler Burghard Pieske einen interessanten Wikinger-Experten vor die Kamera. Im dänischen Nationalarchiv in Kopenhagen wird die Beschreibung eines alten Seeweges durch die Schären wie ein Schatz gehütet. Das von Mönchen handgeschriebene lateinische Dokument ist eine der ältesten und aufregendsten Quellen zur Navigation auf der Ostsee. Es besteht aus einer Auflistung von Orten, die zusammen eine – meist durch die Schären geschützte – Seeroute von Dänemark entlang der Ostseeküste Schwedens über die Ålands und Süd-Finnland bis nach Tallinn bildet. Diese vergessene Segelroute, mein 40 Jahre altes Segelboot LA MER und ein Kajak waren die Zutaten meiner neuen Ostsee-Abenteuerreise durch die Schärengebiete Skandinaviens. Mit dabei waren Kameras und Drohne, um die Reise in einer aufwendig produzierten Dokutainment-Trilogie auf die Leinwand zu bringen. Mit Unterstützung des Dänischen Nationalarchivs und mehrerer Museen konnte ich die Koordinaten des Itinerars in meine modernen Seekarten übertragen. Man kann davon ausgehen, dass die historischen Seewege der Region - so auch die der Wikinger- ebenfalls entlang dieser uralten Segelroute verliefen. So erstehen die Seemannschaft der Wikinger, die Geschichte ihrer Navigation - zu denen ich auch Experten befragte- und ihre vergessene Mythologie in meinen Reiseberichten wieder auf. There is something on my acrylic windows in the sprayhood, it seems like it is a kind of algae or a coat of dirt, but why is it only on two of the windows ? In this video I try to clean the acrylic glass with a product there is made for cleaning windows in sprayhoods. The product does not do anything so I switch to a bit more powerful product from Starbrite with a bit more kick.
