In the summer of 2022 on our way south from the Broughton Islands, we only had one source for local tides and currents. Whether we misread it or perhaps we didn't have enough available information for each rapid we were about to navigate...we ended up going during max flood. Once you are in this situation, it is too late to change your mind as the current is too strong. But we managed to navigate it safely and will hopefully never be in that situation again! -Lindsey and George

We travel South Island, New Zealand in a campervan for 3 weeks searching for the best adventures! This has been my dream trip since I (Lindsey) was 15 years old and it finally came true! It far exceeded my expectations, and we can't wait to go back! Thanks for watching! Let us know if you'd like a detailed itinerary video of our trip! If we get enough interest, we will make one :) Cheers, Lindsey and George

In this episode we leave Forward Harbour and have the best upwind sail of the summer to the Broughton Archipelago! We enjoy exploring these secluded islands with a mix of foggy and sunny weather, tucking in and out of tiny coves. Hope you all enjoy the video! Lindsey and George

In the summer of 2022, we had the opportunity to finally sail further north. We made is as far as the Broughton Archipelago and this is where the journey begins, from the Octopus Islands in Desolation Sound. My heart is still there among the remote, wild inlets and coves. I cannot wait to go back and spend more time! We hope you enjoy this little film :) Lindsey and George

A group of 4 of us hiked the Wonderland Trail in the early month of September 2021 in a total of 6 days, 94 miles and 22,000 feet of elevation gain. This hike was no joke, it was either up or down but the views were out of this world! Hope everyone enjoys the views as much as we did :) -Lindsey and George P.S Don't worry we still have plenty of sailing footage coming soon!

Our very first ADVENTURE CRUISING GUIDE explores CLARK ISLAND, a small island that is often passed by many cruisers in the San Juan Islands as the more appealing island of Sucia is just around the corner. But if you are looking for some solitude or can't make up your mind whether you want a warm pebble beach or a soft sandy beach to spend your afternoon on, THEN this is the ISLAND for YOU!! Basic INFO for Clark Island: - Open All year round - No water is available on the island - Camping is first come first serve, around 19 campsites, plenty of room! - Pit toilets are not too bad :) - $15/night for mooring ball - Currents can rip on either side of the island, be aware if anchoring! - Fires allowed only in designated pits. BUT they are practically on the beach, its great! - Hiking is short but sweet Overall a great place to relax, watch for wildlife, swim and sit in awe of the beautiful snow covered volcano (Mount Baker) while enjoying a beach fire Hope you guys enjoy! This episode is a little different than our previous sailing videos! We explore the coastlines from Sooke to Port Renfrew in George's 1981 Toyota pickup that he has had since high school and has been out of commission for the last 6 years until Spring of 2019. We added the wildernest camper top and its officially our adventure mobile for exploring land when we aren't sailing! This was our very first camping trip since we got her back on the road! Hope you enjoy! Lindsey and George

Just as we left Desolation Sound and made our way south along the Sunshine coast, another storm was predicted to roll through. But we enjoyed a few days of sunshine in Powell River and swimming at Garden lake in Pender Harbour before we hunkered down at anchor for a wild ride as the storm passed through.

It has been 3 years since our last haul out and Kist was ready for a new paint job and needed a few things fixed with our shaft from a previous event last summer (check out Ep.13 for the entire story... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCF3A6-Z3GI&t=21s ). We hauled out at the Port Angeles Boat Yard, one of the few remaining places that allow you to do your own work! This video covers our routine of haul out projects and what we consider the best bottom paint for cruising around the Pacific Northwest to be! If anyone would like more videos on upgrades we've done to Kist or have any questions, please let us know in the comment section below! We finally leave Lund BC after getting our shaft fixed and head to Prideaux Haven where we are greeted with more rain and wind. Welcome to sailing in the Pacific Northwest during Fall. But the rain cleared and we enjoyed exploring one of the most beautiful anchorages in Desolation Sound! While we wished we could have ventured up Toba Inlet, a few storms were in the forecast for the next week and with the temporary fix of our shaft, we decided it was best to start heading south. We encounter issues with our shaft that fills our boat with water up to the bottom of the engine. A little nerve wracking at first when you don't know where the water is coming from and our automatic bilge pump didn't kick on. Luckily we turned on our big boy pump and got the water out quickly to find it was leaking in through our shaft seal. We go over what we did to fix our shaft without hauling out and being able to continue our trip. We also enjoyed one of our favorite sandy beaches in the PNW!

This is the first video of a series of videos as we sail the wild coast of British Columbia during the lovely, rainy month of September 2019. It was an exciting trip filled with crazy STORMS, issues with our shaft almost SINKING our boat, and some awesome windy SAILING! Hope you guys enjoy! Lindsey and George Sailing KIST
