For more information please visit our website https://www.balireply.com/boat/raja-ampat/damai-1-liveaboard/ MY DAMAI I was built in Tanjung Bira, South Sulawesi, by Pak Hadji Baso, the most prestigious builder in the area in 2009. The collaboration of traditional skills with years of experience in the Indonesian liveaboard diving industry has created a remarkable vessel. MY DAMAI I have been designed to offer a personal service dedicated to small groups. With an overall length of 40 meters (130 feet) and a beam of over 8 meters (26 feet) the vessel has 7 staterooms with a choice of single cabins, twins, doubles or two spacious master cabins. With sizes ranging from 18 sq meters / 194 sq feet for the single cabin to 40 sq meters / 430 sq feet for the master cabin, all are furnished with either queen- or king-sized beds, en-suite toilets, and showers. The vessel has been designed with three large deck areas for relaxing in sun or shade and enjoying rejuvenating massage and spa treatments. Specifically designed for divers, the vessel offers large dive stations with individual rinse tanks, a camera room with separate workstations, and an integrated 110v and 220v charging station for each photographer. The vessel is the first in Indonesia to offer 3 local dive guides and 1 Instructor on board throughout your trip. With only 12 guests on most trips and 14 on some (full boat charter only), this is a good 4:1 guest to dive guide ratio. We also have 2 custom designed high speed tender boats used to transfer guests to and from the dive site safely and comfortably. Behind every detail is our objective to ensure the best service and diving experience for our guests.

For more information please visit our website https://www.balireply.com/boat/raja-ampat/ilike-liveaboard/ The ILIKÉ was built on Sulawesi in Bira in 2010 in the traditional Indonesian way. The hull is made of ironwood and the body is teak. MSY Ilike hosts a total of 14 guests in 7 cabins that are fully air-conditioned with ensuite bathroom with hot water shower, toilet and sink. Indonesian and International meals will be served in the spacious saloon with open kitchen, or in the outdoor sitting area at the stern of the boat, well protected from wind while sailing. The comfortable dive deck in front of the boat is one of the most spacious on Indonesian liveaboards. As a diver you can choose to dive on Air or Nitrox from our membrane Nitrox compressor. Between dives you are invited to catch some sun on our sun deck, where you will also enjoy spectacular sunsets, sipping a cool drink! The yacht is powered by 2 x 320HP marine engines, allowing us to cruise at an average speed of 10 knots across Indonesia. We schedule top diving destinations like Komodo, Alor, Maluku/Banda Sea, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat and Cenderawasih Bay. Rich marine life, healthy corals and stunning landscapes may soon become your memories after a stay on board of MSY Ilike.

The next video in our #WeAreCruise video series features a Christchurch tour operator amongst the Australasian businesses voicing their support for a carefully planned revival of cruise operations carrying locals on local cruises. Mark Gilbert, owner of Hassle-free Tours, was forced to let go nearly 60 staff members due to the suspensions. The company is the latest to be featured in CLIA’s #WeAreCruise video series, which highlights the economic impact suffered by local businesses and the 25,000 jobs that are at risk across Australasia while the cruise industry remains at anchor. In the video Mark talks of his experience of losing nearly all of his customers. #WeAreCruise

This week we visit Grenada's capital St Geroge's, with it's beautiful harbor, old fort and colourful people. We walk along the beautiful harbor full of fishing boats and historical buildings. Kieran narrates our visit to the fort as David Attenbrough (or trying to). To Isabelle's delight we visit The Grenada house of chocolate, and learn some new facts about chocolate and Grenada. We are really enjoying ourselves, but then the heat kicks in and gets the best of us, we he head back to our beloved home on the water. Join our crew! In this vid we share our passage from New Zealand to Tubuai, Austral Islands. We chose to take the southern route in the higher latitudes where we picked up the westerlies to make almost 2000 miles of easting before we turned North towards our destination. By taking the longer and harder route we accomplished our goal while our friend chose the direct route and never made the destination instead ending up in the Cook Islands. We experienced several gales and a storm and also tell about our experience with our failed autopilot. Come and join us on our journey... Hope you enjoy the old footage😊 Don't forget to comment and 👍 Intro song by Jules. In this episode we are heading back to Ystad in Sweden. It was a fantastic peaceful sail but the short jump took quite a while so we docked in Ystad in pitch darkness. The captain suddenly turned into a fisherman but as usual our cattain Litza keep a watchful eye on things. Erik and Anna gives us a ride to Helsingborg to check my old apartment and leave the key and visit my mom despite the Corona risk. Don't miss our visit in Ystad skeppshandel it's not just a chandlery it is something special. In this episode we learn a little bit more about Skåne and I give you some glimses of places in Skåne that are special to me. Hmm we where playing some music while sailing and I can't turn it off and stlll let you hear the waves and the talk for a couple of minutes so I'm not allow to get any money for this video(not that I get anything for the others eighter.. but Youtube will pay it all to Dire strait and Darin but what the heck they probably need it;) I'm used to work for free. We are a middle age couple that left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Frida af Wisby and our cat Litza. In this episode we sail in the Baltic Sea

After safely mooring up to the jetty, we have a stroll around the boat yard and the reality of what is about to come really begins to set in. I am not sure if I am ready for this! Maybe it is the new place giving me nerves, maybe I just don't want to start more boat work projects. However, if we like it or not, baby is coming and now is the time to get Nandji ready for the future with the baby spud! Full steam ahead, let's gut Nandji! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef. We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We are stuck for now, but enjoying the slower pace! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World! The last piece of our rigging arrives in Grenada and I set off on the daily ferry to go and collect it. Having a lot of time to kill while waiting for the return ferry that evening, I got up to a bit of mischief... all in the name of giving back to the community! Once the rigging and myself were safely back in Carriacou the following day, we got straight to work putting it up. Docking has never been our strong suite and although Adam meticulously planned all the steps required to dock perfectly, it was still a bit of a disaster (insert footage of Khiara running around like a headless chicken). Thankfully installing our forestay went a lot smoother and one day later, we were out of there and ready to hit the road FINALLY!! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Much love Carla and Simon

This version of a Stronger Soft Shackle MK 2 will create a shackle that is 230% stronger that the breaking strain of the rope. This is our new favourite soft shackle as it use a simple overhand knot to create the stopper knot, making it much easier to tie than other variations which use the Button Knot to complete the shackle. If you need to get the gear to help you complete the splices you can get it by following the links below. D-Splices https://amzn.to/35TIcQj Splice Fids https://amzn.to/394q5sO Slicing Pick https://amzn.to/399q0nM Once you have tied a couple of these you can complete them in minutes, all you need to do is two Brummel Locking splices and one overhand knot. Making this version of the soft shackle by far the easiest that I have tied. The only down side of this version of the stronger soft shackle is it uses slightly more rope, you have to ensure the tails of the brummel splice with are tucked into the main part of the shackle are long enough for it to extend past the knot and into the main part of the shackle. This gives you 4 thickness at the key part of the shackle (just past he end of the overhand knot). These four thicknesses of rope is what give the stronger soft shackle the breaking strain that is 230% greater than and individual length of rope. The team at bottom up boats hope you enjoyed today's video and that like us this is not your favourite soft shackle. We believe the MK 2 is far simpler to tie making it a winner in our book. Thanks for supporting Bottom up Boats ! As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualify purchases.

We’re headed North and it’s day two of our passage from Flamingo Cay at the top of the Ragged Island chain to the Berry Islands, located at the northern end of the Bahamas. It's mid June and this is a hot, light air trip. Along the way we encounter a U.S. Navy warship and are perplexed by a strange beeping sound as they maneuver around us for a couple hours. We drop the hook in Slaughter harbor, a bizarre anchorage off a private island owned by the cruise ship lines filled with empty amusement park rides. Our Honda 2000 generator (which we use to run our watermaker) finally gave up the ghost so we raft up to our buddies on S/V Delos to take on some water for the upcoming long passage to the States. Together we enjoy a final swim in the crystal clear Bahamian waters and barbecue a last meal before we all set sail on our upcoming 700 nautical mile sail. Stay tuned for the next episode, there may be a crew change for the upcoming passage 😉 0:00 Intro 0:35 Navy Ship, some of crazy beeping noise! 3:09 it's HOT 4:12 Light air sailing day two of passage 5:51 Beautiful Sunrise 7:11 Arrival to the Berry Islands a bizarre abandoned cruise ship island 8:15 Raft up with Delos to take on water 9:28 Last swim and dinner in the Bahamas -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Thanks to our Patrons! Ciao Amici!
