Sulle rotte dei Popoli del Mare navighiamo nel Mar Tirreno dal Lazio alla Sardegna, verso Cagliari, oltrepassando la linea di demarcazione che divideva la zona di pertinenza degli Etruschi (Toscana e Lazio) dalla zona Punico-Fenicia. La terra e le acque dei Popoli del Mare per eccellenza: Sardes e Shardana. Dal punto di vista naturalistico questa zona del Mediterraneo è un Santuario dei Cetacei, Adriatica infatti naviga per un tratto accompagnata da un gruppo di capodogli. Ma una volta a Cagliari, l'obiettivo di Syusy è raggiungere ed esplorare l'antica Nora, la prima città sarda della storia, di origine Punico-Fenicia. Nora oggi è un sito archeologico di cui la parte del porto e dei moli è rimasta sommersa dall'innalzamento progressivo del livello del mare. Ma possiamo vedere il Tempio di Tanit e cercare di ricostruire il ruolo strategico e la grandezza che doveva avere questo avamposto così protetto e privilegiato al tempo dei Popoli del Mare. +++ I POPOLI DEL MARE +++ Fin dall'antichità è sempre stato più facile girare il mondo per mare che non via terra. Sull'acqua – chi naviga lo sa – non ci sono confini e a volte basta lasciarsi portare dal vento. Syusy, appassionata di archeologia e misteri della storia, ne ha sempre tenuto conto viaggiando per il mondo e navigando su Adriatica. In particolare nel Mediterraneo, dove navigare è come spostarsi nella Storia! Da tempo Syusy ha seguito le tracce dei Popoli del Mare, indagando l’origine, gli spostamenti e le abitudini di queste antiche popolazioni che colonizzarono il Mediterraneo prima di Etruschi e Fenici, i misteriosi costruttori delle mura ciclopiche poligonali che si trovano sparse in tutto il mondo. Sono Popoli del Mare i Tirreni, i Shardana, i Paleset, i Tursa, i Siculi... Ma prima di loro c’è stato un tempo in cui altre genti ci hanno lasciato testimonianze incredibili, soprattutto di tipo architettonico. Li chiamavano Pelasgi, ma chi erano in realtà? We head out to Anza Borrego State Park with some friends to camp and ride dirtbikes. We camp along the S2, about 18 miles from the north side of Highway 8. Our friends have a large 2WD Mercedes Sprinter van loaded down with dirtbikes, mountain bikes and camp gear. This spot was very accessible for a heavy van with 2WD. We took South Carrizo Road to the northeast side of S2 for about 1/2 mile and set up camp. Very easy. We rode our dirtbikes through an array of washes: Carrizo Wash, Vallecito Wash, Arroyo Tapiado, Mesa, Diablo Drop, Fish Creek Wash, Arroyo Del Seco and Indian Gorge Road to a natural palm spring in the desert! We borrowed a friend’s Toyota Tacoma while our 1996 F250 Powerstroke is getting an Expedition Updo! The Tacoma has an awesome Flip Pac tent set-up and I show you how easy it is to set up. In my opinion, the Flip Pac (hard top tent style) is easier and faster to set-up than our Tepui rooftop tent. But both are great to sleep and ‘live’ in. Where to next???
