We discover an abandoned resort and more importantly a bar on Great Keppel Island. We wash off the hangover diving the beautiful reefs and have to get creative with our increasingly low supply of food onboard.

Quando vim no início do ano em Manaus, tirei o veleiro da água para troca do eixo e hélice, que estavam com pequena vibração. Pintei o fundo com tinta epóxi, usada aqui na Amazônia. Sem ser antincruscante. Refaria a pintura com venenosa, em Belém, quando voltasse para o mar no início do ano de 2021. Só que vendo o estado de conservação da carreta de encalhe, desisti. Está bem velha e deteriorada. Além disto... ao fazer uma limpeza no casco do Pedal, achei um pedaço de pau, que me pareceu estar fincado na fibra. Maior susto. Improvisei um tubolite, em volta e tratei de ir logo para Manaus, novamente para verificar o risco do barco fazer água. O pequeno pedaço de madeira, estava só colado. Constatei agora. Imagino que algum funcionário do estaleiro tenha colocado-o, como cunha, na escora que foi colocado, para sustentar o barco. Neste vídeo mostro os preparativos e depois como é amarrado... ficando escorado em um bordo. São forma aleatória de tirar um veleiro da água, com muito risco. Não aconselho a quem não tenha encalhado o barco para pintura, de forma proposital, em muro ou praia.., que tente fazer, O intuito é mostrar essa opção que é muito comum, em Manaus, AM. Bvs

The biggest issue I am encountering on this planking is that du to the complex shape, each plank requires a different approach. I don’t seem to be benefitting from repetition in which I can try different tricks to find the best practice. One hard lesson I can share is that stainless steel staples were the wrong choice. I was using them in the event that I lost a leg into the structure. Problem was, every staple I extracted would lose a leg. Kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. That said, I spent way too much time digging out broken-off staple legs which ironically was the one repetitious task that taught me the best way to dig out broken-off staple legs. I suppose that’s progress.
