This time on Sailing Intermission since the other fishing pole is in Davy Jones’ locker, Steve used his new fishing pole and caught our biggest fish yet. Nevertheless, we still let it go to live another day, although it would have made a fine dinner. Using the Speedy Stitcher, Steve continued his tailor skills and repaired some dodger panels. Ended up pulling out the mighty Singer 237 anyway. Weather being what it was, we spent some time in dock which included exercising. Karen did jumping jacks and push ups to stay in shape. Going out, we checked out our sewing of the Sunbrella fabric on the jib and eventually decided to go to the islands. Anchored securely, even pulled up a dead tree from the bottom when retrieving the anchor. Steve thought the windlass was working a little hard. Thank you to our subscribers! La météo avait vu juste, le vent de sud s’est levé ce matin et nous nous félicitons de ne plus être en mer ! Notre Blacky peut prendre un peu de repos avant de poursuivre vers Richards Bay…D’après les Grib, il est fort probable que nous reprenions notre route samedi, d’ici là, sans clearance d’entrée au Mozambique, nous allons certainement éviter de descendre à terre et nous occuper de vos vidéos et récits. En parlant d’écrits, nous remercions nos bananas malines qui ont trouvé le moyen de nous envoyer des SMS sur notre Iridium. Et pour répondre à leur question, je suis en plein atelier couture, fabrication d’un caleçon en tissus tanzanien pour mon Tchoupi ! 11 novembre, nous hésitons toujours à descendre à terre, pourtant à l’époque, nous l’avions fait mais les conditions étaient différentes, aucune pandémie ne sévissait. Si les rangers du parc marin passent nous voir, nous pourrons tenter une demande exceptionnelle de dégourdissement ! En attendant, sagement, nous restons à bord en appréciant le panorama qui devance notre mouillage. Jusqu’à l’éminence de quelques dunes, la végétation semble vouloir retenir le sable, mais en bordure, au plus loin que l’on puisse voir, c’est une plage interminable qui borde la mer. Le vol nonchalant de trois flamants rose ajoute une note de couleur pastel à ce paysage d’ergs et quelques embarcations le mettent en mouvement. D’ailleurs, une d’elle s’approche de Blacky, à son bord, trois enfants et trois adultes. Le plus grand des gaillards, nous parle anglais, il nous propose des crabes en échange de cinq euros. Une aubaine pour une nouvelle recette de Jacouille ! Mais le plus dingue de cette occurrence, c’est que nous connaissons notre interlocuteur ! Nous nous sommes rencontrés la première fois lors de notre passage avec Pirates. com, et il se souvient de nous ! Quand la magie du voyage opère… 13 novembre, la météo s’est confirmée, nous quittons Bazaruto demain pour une navigation de 506 milles en direction de Richards Bay. Cyril m’a prévenu, avec le vent de sud qui l’a houspillé pendant quatre jours, la mer risque d’être émétique les six premières heures, ensuite, une fois sortis plus au large, en attrapant le nord-est portant, nous croisons les doigts pour qu’elle s’apaise. Nous avons garni nos quatre jours sans difficulté avec un tas de petits travaux : petite révision moteur, nettoyage des coques, fabrication de rondelles en Téflon pour la bôme, confection de quelques leurres, sans oublier, le tri des photos et le montage vidéo de votre traversée que nous pourrons publier dès que nous aurons internet en Afrique du Sud… Autre chose, mais ça, gardez le pour vous, nous avons fraudé ! Oui, cet après-midi, n’y tenant plus, nous sommes descendus à terre ! Trois jours et demi à guigner avec caprice ce bout de Mozambique et nous avons succombé à notre soif de découverte, et puis, Sergio nous y attendait ! Il n’est pas seul, avec ses huit enfants, ses deux femmes, les parents et les grands-parents, le village est déjà bien rempli… Nous leur avons amené les photos que nous avions prisent, il y a 8 ans, quel plaisir de partager ces souvenirs qui nous unissent un peu. Les enfants ont grandi et cette fois-ci, c’est un des fils de Sergio qui nous fait la visite de son école qu’il est fier d’occuper, malheureusement, pas depuis quelques mois avec la Covid. Du coup, les garçons aident les hommes à la pêche et les filles restent avec les mamans. Tant d’année se sont écoulées et nous retrouvons, à la même place que l’était sa mère, la maman de Sergio, qui à son tour, décortique ce fruit, rependu à l’Afrique de l’Est, le Mukwakwa de la famille de Loganiaceae, très important pour l’écologie. L’authenticité est vraie et les relations sincères. Nous regrettons de ne pas avoir des vêtements et des casquettes pour les enfants, qui en auraient besoin, à défaut, nous leur offrons des cahiers, crayons et quelques sacs pour l’école. Le vent a tourné sud-est, cette nuit ça devrait passer Est. Demain, nous partons à l’aube… 14 novembre, 5 heures dix passées, l’ancre profondément prise dans le fond, vient de se désensablée, nous appareillons… Avec la marée qui descend, nous sommes expulsés vers le nord par plus d’un nœud de courant en notre faveur. La direction sud nous aurait fait gagner un temps indéniable mais les cartes sont beaucoup trop incertaines, les bancs de sable bougent avec les années et la passe n’était pas garantie. Sous... It is a bit sad to haul-out BioTrek while the other boats are leaving to go south to the Caribbean for the winter season. Während in den Bootsklassen die Olympia-Qualifikation bereits abgeschlossen ist, hat sie in unserer Bootsklasse dem 470er noch nicht mal begonnen. Ursprünglich war sie erst im Frühjahr und dann im Herbst geplant, doch musste sie ständig durch die veränderte internationale Coronasituation verschoben werden. Selbst die Kieler Woche fand nicht für die 470er statt. Alles hat seine Vor- und Nachteile. Auf der einen Seite wären wir liebend gern einen Wettkampf dieses Jahr gesegelt, allerdings bleibt uns so auf der anderen Seite mehr Zeit zum Trainieren.
